Formerly of New Rochelle, N.Y. Dr. Daniel E. Ackerman, 73, of Lake City, died late Friday evening, December 31, 2004, in the V.A. Medical Center, following an extended illness. A native of New Rochelle, N.Y., Dr. Ackerman had been a resident of the Robert H. Jenkins Veterans Domiciliary in Lake City for the past two years. He moved here from Ocala. Dr. Ackerman was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he earned a commendation ribbon for his efforts in the evacuation of an Air Force base during the Korean conflict. His efforts resulted in thousands of lives being saved. He was a graduate of Orange County Community College in Middletown, N.Y. and the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. Dr. Ackerman practiced as a chiropractor in both Warwick and Westtown, N.Y. for 35 years prior to retiring. In his spare time he loved boating, was an avid reader, he played chess and was a model train hobbyist. He was a member of the International Chiropractors Association, the Palmer College of Chiropractic Alumni Association, and H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Excel) at the veteran's domiciliary. Dr. Ackerman was a Christian. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Kay F. Ackerman, of Ocala, Fla.; a son, Dr. Drew Ackerman of Warwick, N.Y.; a stepson, Dean Fuller, of Austin, Tx.; a stepdaughter, Lori Green, of Slate Hill, N.Y.; his brother, Ronald Ackerman, of Galesburg, Ill.; and three grandchildren. Memorial services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, January 15, 2005 in Amity Presbyterian Church, 118 Newport Bridge Rd., Amity, N.Y. Dr. Ackerman will be privately interred in the Florida National Cemtery at Bushnell. Bell Sr., Neil David Formerly of White Lake, N.Y. Neil David Bell, Sr., a retired machinist and former 30 year resident of White Lake, N.Y., died January 6, 2005, at the Halifax Hospital in Port Orange, Fla. He was 77 years old. Neil was born on May 8, 1927 in Fort Lee, Canada. He was a Marine Corps Veteran of World War II who served in China. He was also a member of the White Lake Fire Company and the Bethel Seniors Model Flying Club. After retiring from the VAW of America, Neil moved to Port Orange, Fla. in 1996. Once in Florida he was an active member of the Moose, Eagle and Elks Club. Survivors include his wife, Margaret; two sons: James Bell of Wappingers Falls, N.Y. and Neil D. Bell, Jr., of White Lake, N.Y.; their wives, Janet and Olga; three grandchildren: Jennifer Rose, Raquel Olga and Jill Marie; and two great-grandchildren: Taylor and Renee. He was predeceased by his late wife, Rosemary "Rosie" Bell, and his daughter, Anne "Kathy" Bell. Alavon Direct Cremation Service of South Daytona is in charge of his cremation. William H. Bodle, of Solebury Township, Pa., died at Chandler Hall in Newtown, Pa. on December 30, 2004. He was born on March 4, 1911 in Montgomery, N.Y., the youngest son of George and Sarah Shafer Bodle, farmers there. Mr. Bodle graduated from Montgomery High School in 1930 and attended the Spencerian Business School in Newburgh in 1932. He was a fireman with the Wallkill Engine and Hose Company No. 2 in Montgomery. He worked in New York City in the ticket department of the Pennsylvania Railroad, and its corporate successor, the Penn Central Railroad, from from 1936 until 1942 and from 1946 until his retirement in 1976. He lived in New York City, in Nassau County, Long Island and finally in Solebury from 1959 until last year. During WW II, from 1942 until 1945, Mr. Bodle served in the Army Air Force as a Staff Sergeant. He was stationed at Army Air Facilities in Albany, Ga., Denver, Colo. and Yuma, Ariz. In 1946, Mr. Bodle married Ann Phelan, of Waterbury, Conn., who preceded him in death in 1984. He is survived by three children, Wayne of Indiana, Pa. and Solebury, Pa., Lloyd of Tempe, Ariz. and Denise Greiner of Columbus, Ohio. Services will be private and interment will be in Columbus, Ohio. Brady, John "Jack" John "Jack" Brady of Monroe, N.Y. died January 8, 2005 at his residence. Jack was born July 3, 1928 to Peter and Bessie Cooney Brady in New York City. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Agnes Brady (Nee: Farrell); two daughters: Catherine of Weehawken, N.J. and Colleen of Monroe, N.Y., and one son, John Jr., of New York City. He is also survived by his granddaughters: Colleen, Megan, Katie and Emily. Jack is also survived by his sister, Kathleen Brady and brother, Peter Brady of Rockaway Park, N.Y., along with several nieces and nephews. Jack was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served in World War II. Conservo, Carmella Carmella Conservo of Chester, a retired employee of Calvert Coat Company in Middletown, N.Y. and a lifelong resident of the area, died Thursday January 6, 2005, at Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus, Middletown. She was 84 years of age. The daughter of the late John and Carmella Fratto, she was born July 8, 1920 in Chester, N.Y. Carmella was the widow of Joseph Conservo who predeceased her on March 29, 1996. She was a member of St. Columba R.C. Church, Chester, N.Y. A family statement reads: "She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother who will be sorely missed." Survivors include three daughters: Delicia Amante and her husband, John, of Blooming Grove, Carmella Clearwater of Chester and JoAnn Tatham and her husband, James, of Boca Raton, Fla.; and one son, John J. Conservo, of Blooming Grove. King, Margaret A. Margaret A. King, a housekeeper and longtime resident of the area, died Thursday January 6, 2005, at her home in Monticello. She was 65. The daughter of the late Albert Swingle and Susie Lamberton Swingle, she was born November 20, 1939 in South Canaan, Pa. She was the widow of Thomas R. King. Margaret was a veteran serving in the United States Army as an LPN. Survivors include her daughter: Connie DeFazio and her husband, Donald DeFazio, Jr., of Monticello; two stepsons: Tom King and Bill King, both of Monticello; three brothers: Friend Swingle, Nathaniel Swingle and Layton Swingle; four sisters: Marge Bianchi, Glenna Rollison, Beverly Swingle and Alberta Horst; three grandchildren: Nichole, Brittany and Alex; and several nieces, nephews and friends. Mrs. Hilda (Ryerson) Klingman, 89, of 15 Hilltop Rd., died Friday Jan. 7, 2005 at the Beacon Brook Heath Center. She was the wife of Richard E. Klingman. Mrs. Klingman was born in Goshen, N.Y., May 1, 1915, a daughter of the late Henry H. and Ethel (Potter) Ryerson. She had been raised and educated in the Middletown, N.Y. area and was a graduate of Middletown High School in 1933. She was a graduate of the School of Practical Art in Boston, Mass. in 1935. and the RamsdelL Business School of Middletown, N.Y. Following her marriage, she was a resident of Parkchester, in the Bronx N.Y. where she taught art at St. Raymond's school. She moved to Naugatuck in 1971. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church and was a member and past Regent of Sarah Rogers Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a member and former Acting President of the Naugatuck Women's Club. She was a well-known local Artist, having won many honors and awards for her work. She had exhibited her work through the Conn. Federation of Women's Clubs and also showed at a local exhibit at the Howard Whittemore Memorial Library. Her hobbies included playing the piano and tracing her family genealogy dating back to the early 1600's in America. Besides her husband of over 65 years, she leaves one son, Richard T. Klingman of Morristown, N.J.; four daughters, Mary C. Samaras of Tinton Falls, N.J., Jane E. Michaud of Altamont, N.Y., Cathy L. Delano of Staten Island, N.Y. and Caren S. Flynn of Port Monmouth, N.J.; one brother, Philip Ryerson of Columbus, O.H.; numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Kramer, Frances W. Formerly of Marlboro, N.Y. Frances W. Kramer, 89, most recently of Oneonta, N.Y. and formerly of Marlboro, N.Y., passed away on Thursday January 6, 2005, at the Oneonta Nursing Home. She was born January 14, 1915 in Marlboro, the daughter of Joseph and Mabel (Sears) Bloomer. She married Ralph G. Kramer in 1938, and he died in 1989. Mrs. Kramer was a graduate of Marlborough Central High School and Eastern Academy of Laboratory Technique in Utica, N.Y. She also attended Cobleskill and Vassar College. She first worked in St. Francis Hospital. She then helped her husband on the family farm for many years. After the farm was sold she returned to hospital work, and was employed for a period of ten years with Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Marlborough, and while living in Oneonta she attended the First United Presbyterian Church. She is survived by two daughters: Elizabeth Moeller, of Oneonta, and Christina Charter and her husband, Dana, of Charlotte, N.C.; her grandchildren: Ann and Matthew Charter; a brother, Wendell Bloomer, of Marlboro; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was 81. The son of Joseph Neri and Sarah Barton Legere, he was born October 24, 1923 in Maybrook. Joseph was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, a former Boy Scout leader, a former Commissioner of the Maybrook Fire District, a past Commander of the VFW Post in Maybrook and a member of Cursillo. He is survived by his wife, Janice Toothill Legere, at home; two sons: Richard Legere of Maryland and Edmond Legere and his wife, Diana, of Middletown; four daughters: Cheryl Carr and her husband, Peter, of Pleasant Valley, Michele Valenti and her husband, Alfred, of Highland, Cindee Pascal and her husband, Stephen, of Warwick, and Lisa Mistretta and her husband, Joseph, of Walden; one sister, Zita McDaniel, of Texas; 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Ann was a 1929 graduate of McCann Business School, and a 1948 graduate of the Connecticut Institute of Hairdressing. Ann was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, a member of Club 60 in Newburgh and a member of the New Windsor Seniors. A family statement read, "Ann really enjoyed her life and lived it to its fullest." Marzilli, 82, of Ormond Beach, passed away Monday January 3, 2005. His family will be receiving friends at the Lohman Ormond Funeral Home, 733 W. Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church on Friday, January 7, at 10:00 AM. Mr. Marzilli was born in Fall River, Mass. on June 28, 1922 to Caroline and Elenterio Marzilli. He was one of six children, eldest brother Marico and Ann (predeceased) twin sisters Anna, Albert and Richard, all living in the Fall River area. Mr. Marzilli graduated from BMC Durffee High School in Fall River, Mass. As a young boy growing up during the Depression, he worked hard at many jobs including the family bakery, Marzilli's Bakery. Soon after graduation, Mr. Marzilli enlisted into the Navy during World War II; seeing action during the Normandy invasion among other conflicts. Mr. Marzilli also served in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War. In 1946 he married Ann Petrovich in West New York, N.J. and shortly after the Korean War, Mr.and Mrs. Marzilli moved to Central Valley, N.Y. There he owned and operated several businesses. In 1968 Mr. Marzilli moved to Ormond Beach, Fla. owning and operating Ormond Beach Manor Motel at 205 S. Atlantic Ave. Thereafter he became a realtor at Cameron Realty (Adams-Cameron) in Ormond Beach, working in the Commercial Department, and was the #1 sales associate in the area. Also during this time he continued his own desire to develop properties. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 59 years, Ann, and his three sons: Albert, Monte and Louis, all residing in the Ormond area. He is also survived by four loving grandchildren: Natasha, Monte, Hana and Albert. He will be missed by all. He was born in West Haverstraw, N.Y., the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Michella, Sr. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and served in the Pacific Theater aboard LST 270. He was authorized to wear the American Theater Ribbon, the Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon with four Bronze Stars, and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with two Bronze Stars. He was honorably discharged. The son of the late Jeffrey N. Lee and Chandra Sinanan Lee, he was born June 27, 1983 in Trinidad. He was a corporal serving in the United States Marine Corp and completed two tours of active duty in Iraq. She was 72. Born in Goshen, NY on May 1, 1931, she was the daughter of Robert and Mable Babb Behrent. She was the widow of Robert Slingerland Sr. She retired as a produce worker in Lloyds Shopping Center, Middletown. The son of George Wilson Jr. and Kathleen Chapman Wilson, he was born on June 24, 1972 in Liberty, NY. Survivors include his mother, Kathleen Wilson and her companion Barry Klein of White Sulphur Springs; 1 son, Tyler Wilson and his mother Jody Minton; his paternal grandmother, Helen Wilson of Lava; 1 sister, Tammy "Mimi" Wilson and her companion Damon Knack; nephews, Jeremy and Joshua Knack, all of White Sulphur Springs; several aunts, uncles, cousins and his ever faithful canine companion "Sportster." She was the daughter of William and Rebecca Meldrum Taylor, born November 2, 1915 in Elyria, Ohio. Elizabeth was the widow of Harry S. Smith and Ward Winner. She is survived by two sons: Dale S. Smith of Livingston Manor and Dean A. Smith of Bradenton, Fla.; one brother, David Taylor of Pennsylvania; two grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by one sister, Ann Taylor.
