Formerly of Claryville, N.Y. Madeleine F. Banta, 89, of Stuart, Fla., died on January 9, 2005 at Hospice of Martin & St. Lucie Co., Inc. Born November 30, 1915 in Claryville, N.Y., she was a resident of Stuart for one and a half years coming from Holiday, Fla. Prior to retirement she was a co-proprietor with her husband for Banta's Mill in Grahamsville, N.Y., buyer for ladies' wear in Liberty, N.Y. and was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Grahamsville. She was predeceased by her husband, Roger Banta. Survivors include her daughter, Patsy Grey, of Stuart, Fla.; two grandchildren: Gregory Grey, of Normal, Ill. and Beth Ann Mickelson, of Neversink, N.Y.; and four great-grandsons. Burke, Kathleen Kathleen Burke, of the Town of Newburgh, a bus monitor for Washingtonville School System, died January 8, 2005 at home. She was 70. The daughter of John and Bridget H. Gallagher McGonigle, she was born October 10, 1934 in Ballintre, Ireland. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and the "neighborhood mom". She was the wife of Joseph T. Burke. Survivors include her husband, Joseph T. Burke of Town of Newburgh; son, Robert and wife Olga Burke of New York City, NY; daughters: Julie and husband Miguel Montes of Brisbane, CA, Pamela and husband Scott Winchek of Oswego, NY; brothers: Michael and wife, Isabel McGonigle of Finner, Ireland, Gilbert and wife Barbara McGonigle of Wimbledon, England; sister: Anne and husband John McTiernan of Mt. Vernon, NY; sister-in-law, Jean McGonigle; grandchildren: Frankie and Kathleen Winchek and Isabella Montes, also many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, John McGonigle. Conservo of Chester, N.Y. and Tamarac, Fla., died Saturday January 8, 2005 at the Florida Medical Hospice House in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He was 81 years of age. The son of the late Giovanni and Delizia Lombardo Conservo, he was born on July 28, 1923 in Lake Station, Chester, N.Y. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ida Buda Conservo; two daughters: Delicia "Dee" DeLuca and her husband, Louis, and Rose DeLuca and her husband, Jack, both of Chester, N.Y.; five grandchildren: Jeffrey DeLuca and his wife, Karen, of Campbell Hall, N.Y., Dawn Guevara and her husband, Michael, of Chester, N.Y., Jennifer DeLuca and her fiance, Michael Antolino, of Goshen, N.Y., Laura and Jack DeLuca III, both of Chester, N.Y. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren: Christopher Michael and Deanna Marie Guevara, of Campbell Hall, N.Y.; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Conservo and sister, Grace Frustace. Mr. Conservo was the owner/proprietor of the Friendly Food Center and owner of Conservo Real Estate in Chester, N.Y. He was a communicant of St. Columba R.C. Church in Chester, N.Y. Mr. Conservo's real estate foresight helped shape the county of Orange as we know it, including the areas of the Chester Industrial Park, and bringing United Parcel Service to a growing Chester. He assisted the Chester Fire District with land to build the Sugar Loaf Fire House and along with his partner, Sam Barash, accomplished real estate transactions that spanned many states. In recent years, due to his ill health, he became a land developer with the assistance of his partners. His love and dedication to his family and work was a combination that will never be matched. He always had time for family and friends. He loved his gardening, growing his own produce and worked at it until he was unable to do so. He was loved by his family and friends dearly and was respected by all that met him. He will be missed by everyone. Livoti, Alphonse Alphonse Livoti, a retiree of Newburgh Park Motors, who also ran Al's Service Station for many years, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on January 8, 2005. He was 76 years old. He was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Salvatore and Annetta Livoti. Survivors include his wife Ann of 51 years; children, Mary Ann Livoti-DeBellis and John of Houston, TX, Annette Cousineau and Michael of Poughkeepsie, NY; son, Vincent and Brandi Ann of Hopewell Junction, NY; beloved grandchildren: Michael Cousineau and Lee Ann Livoti; his brother, Ignatius Livoti; sisters, Bridget Del Bruno, Rita Lanzano and Stella Sweetapple, and many dear nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brother, Joseph and Vincent and three sisters, Mary, Vincence and Rosalie. Published in the Times Herald-Record on 1/10/2005. Nergelovic, Lucy Mae Lucy Mae Nergelovic of New Windsor, died January 7, 2005 at Fishkill Health Care Center. She was 84. Born on February 20, 1920 in Newburgh to the late Charles and Lucy May Lynch Quick, Lucy was a garment worker in Newburgh for many years. Survivors include her loving children: Paul Nergelovic of New Windsor, and Charles F. Nergelovic, Jr., of Kingston; one dear sister, Margaret Congelosi, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two cherished grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles F. Nergelovic, in 1984 and her sister, Alice Kolassa. The family will be present to receive friends on Wednesday January 12, 2005 from 9-11 AM in Coloni Funeral Home, 3001 Route 9W, New Windsor, with the funeral to be held at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with the Rev. Pfeister-Engel, Mary Mary Pfeister-Engel, a life long resident of North Rockland after a courageous battle, passed away with her family by her side, Saturday, January 8, 2005 at Nyack Hospital. She was 68. Mary was born June 22, 1936 in West Haverstraw to Andrew and Susan (Koritko) Seman. She worked until her retirement for Liberty Mutual in New City. Mary volunteered her time to work with the Boy and Girl Scouts of America. Mary is survived by her loving children, William Pfeister III and his wife Patricia of Ft. Montgomery, Deborah and her husband Rudy Rinaldo of West Islip, NY, Coleen and her husband Neil Schepis of Haverstraw. Nana so loved her grandchildren, William IV, Wayne, Jonathan, Susanna, James, Kaitlyn, Erin and Rudy III. She is also survived by her sister, Anna and her husband Charles Gulino; brothers, Steven and his wife Anna Seman, Robert and his wife Fran Seman, Michael Seman and numerous nieces and nephews. Her husbands William J. Pfeister Jr, May 1976, Leo J. Engel, November 2002 predeceased Mary. Reynolds, a homemaker and wife to the late Charles H. Reynolds, entered into rest on Thursday January 6, 2005 at the Orange County Nursing Facility. She was 108 years old. She was born to the late George and Theresa Schweitzer Schwarz on January 25, 1896 in Hungary. She is survived by one daughter, Theresa Shearer, of Walden; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter, Alexandra T. Fuller. She was preceded in death by one son, Aready Reynolds; one sister, Anna Schwarz; and three brothers: Julius, George and Michael Schwarz. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later time. Valentino, a seamstress with Local Ladies Garment, and longtime resident of the area, died January 9, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie. She was 91. Born September 8, 1913 in New York, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Andrew Gattuso and Jennie Dolci Gattuso. She was a member of the Marlboro-Milton Senior Citizens and Catholic Daughters of America. She is survived by her son, Peter Valentino and his wife, Dolores, of New Windsor; one daughter, Marie Palmieri and her husband, Phil, of Marlboro; one sister, Mary Falcone and her husband, Joseph, of Bethpage, N.Y.; one grandson, David Valentino, of New Windsor; one granddaughter, Fran Palmieri and her companion, Anthony Keller, of Marlboro; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dominick Valentino and her grandson, Peter A. Valentino.
