Emmons, 90, late of Pecks Pond, Porter Township, Pa., died on December 30, 2004 at Milford Senior Care, Westfall, Pa. She served as Tax Collector for Pike County and Porter Township for 27 years and served on the Advisory Council for Pike County's Office of the Aging. She was a member of the Good Shepherd and St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, Milford, Pa. She was a longtime resident of Morrisville, Pa. before moving to Peck's Pond in 1968. The daughter of the late Paul L. and Elizabeth C. James Hill, she was born on April 3, 1914 in Morrisville, Pa. She was married to the late Russell B. Emmons. Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn E. Williams of Ithaca, N.Y.; her son Russell B. Emmons Jr. of South Sterling, Pa.; two grandsons, Fred O. Williams III of Buffalo and Benjamin P. The daughter of the late Patrick Tallon and Maria Gillespie Tallon, she was born December 21, 1914 in New York City, N.Y. Mrs. Franck was born and raised in New York City. She worked at Macy's Deptartment Store for 15 years. Mrs. Franck moved to Batavia in 1993 and she loved to sing, dance and paint. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul K. Harry Gibbs, a longtime area resident, died after a courageous battle with his illness. With his family at his side, Harry died on Friday, January 7, 2005 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis. He was 67 years old. The son of the late Helen Warner, he was born on January 13, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY. Harry was the Proprietor of Qualified Custodial, Inc, in Middletown. Born in Atlanta, Ga. on January 2, 1910, she was the daughter of Frederick Harris and Frances Adelia Jobson. She had a degree in fine arts and was an accomplished artist. At age 92, while a resident at Mt. Alverno, she was awarded the "Staff Choice Award" for her watercolor painting which was displayed at the NYAHSA office in Albany. She was predeceased by her husband Carl A. Huth and son, Carl A. Ruffer, Arlene Arlene Ruffer, a longtime resident of Orange County, passed away January 9, 2005 at home after a long illness with her family at her side. She was 69. Daughter of the late Seymour Seth Selig and Edna Rooder Selig, she was born in Brooklyn May 15, 1935. She was married to Charles Ruffer for over 48 years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother; her son Seth Ruffer and his wife Soo, of West Orange, NJ; her daughter Pamela Connolly and her husband Matthew of Monroe, NY; her youngest son, Matthew Ruffer, of Lake Tahoe, California; her grandchildren, Matthew and Jaclyn Connolly of Monroe, NY; her brother, Robert Selig and his wife, Ina, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and their daughter, Beth of Hoboken, NJ. She enjoyed her career as a proof reader, and later as a librarian at Rushmore Library in her hometown of Highland Mills, NY. Despite a serious illness that lasted five and a half years of her life, her positive outlook and uplifting spirit were an inspiration to all whose lives she touched. Her courage and her faith brought comfort to all who shared this difficult time with her. She was passionate about literature, cooking and sharing her time with family and friends. She was dedicated to helping others, which was reflected by her donation of her remains to Albany Medical College. Loving mother of Michael and his wife Debra of W. Milford, N.J.; Margaret Baruffaldi & fiance Keith Quackenbush of Warwick, N.Y. and Patti and her husband John Ullrich of Ridgewood, N.J. Adored grandmother of 7 grandchildren. Jane was a bank teller for the Ridgewood Savings Bank in Ridgewood. Kenneth VonRonn of Walker Valley and Bloomingburg, NY, a SGT in the Army, Company D, 101 St. Calvary, Newburgh, NY and a lifetime resident of the area, died January 6, 2005 in Iraq. He was 20. The son of Raymond VonRonn and Debra Jackson VonRonn, he was born September 29, 1984 in West Palm Beach, FL. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Walden, NY. He was a 2003 graduate of Pine Bush Central High School. He was the husband of Kira Conklin VonRonn. Survivors include his beloved wife at home; his loving parents, Raymond of Australia and Debra of Walker Valley; his loving sisters, Gina, Courtney and Samantha of Walker Valley; his loving grandmother, Maria VonRonn of Walker Valley, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Worden, beloved son of Wayne and Lisa Maynard Worden, entered heaven on Sunday, January 9, 2005 at Plattekill, N.Y. He was 20 months old. He was born May 6, 2003 in Poughkeepsie, NY. Survivors include his father Wayne Worden; mother, Lisa Worden; grandmother, Virginia Worden of Oneonta and grandfather, Feliciano Ocampo of the Philippines; Godparents, Mark and Cherry Ollive of Vermont, also several cousins, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased his grandfather Cecil Worden. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 12, 2005 from 6 to 9 p.m. at White and Venuto Funeral Home, 188 North Plank Rd. (Rte 32), Newburgh. Yuskovic, Walter Walter Yuskovic, a retired self employed housepainter, died Monday, January 10, 2005 at St. Teresa's Nursing Home, Middletown. He was 96 years old. The son of the late Valerijonas and Morta Jukneviciute Juskevicius, Walter was born on January 9, 1909 in Lithuania. Walter was a self employed housepainter who moved to this area in 1978 and was married to the former Amelia Burba. A family statement reads: "Walter was a caring man who took a holistic approach to life. His concern for his family and the environment was evident in the way he lived; He loved nature, baked bread, juiced vegetables, exercised every day and many of us feel he was a man ahead of his time." Walter is survived by his wife Amelia of 52 years at home; three nephews, William, James and John Yuskovic; one niece, Susan Bartel and her husband Bradley and two grand nephews, John Michael and Brad, and one sister-in-law Irene. Walter was predeceased by his two brothers and two sisters. Cremation was private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.
