Chang, Maurice Christopher Maurice Christopher Chang of Middletown, died Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at home. He was 61. Maurice was born in Jamaica, West Indies and migrated to the United States of America in the late 1970's. He was a past student of St. George's College in Kingston, Jamaica. He attended the Bread of Life Church in Bullville and worked for Cole Vision as an optician. Survivors include his wife, Jean; his son, Maurice Christopher Jr. and his mother, Pearline. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Barbara Robert, Ernest, Dennis, Aloysius (Chinaman), Laurel, Eric and Margaret. Cooper, a lifelong resident of Warwick and a retired 15 year Police Officer for the Village of Warwick Police Department and a retired employee of the Town of Warwick DPW, entered into rest on Thursday, January 13, 2005 in St. Anthony Community Hospital, Warwick. He was 71. The son of Emmet N. and Eva M. Decker Cooper Sr., he was born on September 12, 1933 in Craigville, NY. Jack proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and the Military Police. He served as Past President of the Village of Warwick Police Benevolent Association, past president of Warwick Fast Pitch Soft Ball League and was a member of Orange County Umpires Association. Survivors include four sisters: Ethel C. Brischler of Murfeesboro, TN, Christine G. Cooper of Goshen, NY, Shirley O. Cooper of Warwick and Betty C. Egan, Marie Theresa Marie Theresa Egan of Ellenville, a life long resident and a former registered nurse at the Ellenville Community Hospital, finally retiring as a social worker with Sullivan County, died January 12, 2005 at her home. She was 87. The daughter of Erhart and Mathilda Martin Rosenberger, she was born May 31, 1917 in Ellenville. She was the widow of Warren J. Egan who died in 1992. She was a communicant of the Church of St. Mary and St. Andrew, Ellenville. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice, Inc., Kingston and especially Sarah Underhill RN, for their great care and attention during the latter stages of her illness. The family would also like to thank Denise Skeen and Andrea Smith for their devoted care to Marie over the past 26 months; without their presence our mother would not have been able to spend her remaining days at home. Hearns of New Windsor, entered into rest Thursday January 13, 2005 in Cornwall Hospital. He was 86. Son of the late Thomas and Helen O'Donnell Hearns, he was born December 9, 1918 in Albany, N.Y. He married Marilyn Cariffe on April 4, 1948. Donald retired as a salesman from the Irving Ness Co. in 1983 after 20 years of service. Prior to that he worked for the Reuben H. Donnelly Corp. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II as a radio operator in a C-47, in the China-Burma-India theater of operations. Donald was known for his love of animals and devotion to all causes that would benefit them. In the waning years of his life, his beloved dog, "Pug", was always at his side. He was also a life-time fan of the "Fighting Irish" of Notre Dame. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Cariffe Hearns; his brother-in-law, Robert Cariffe; his sister-in-law, Bette Cariffe; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Mary Hearns and Helen Bradley and his brothers Paul and Tom Hearns. She was an Avid New York Liberty Fan and gardener. Her sphere of influence extended far beyond her family, her friends and even her career. She intimately touched aspects of her community and individuals within the community in ways that will be remembered always." She was a 4-H Leader for many years, a 31 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of Cornell Cooperative Extension. She was a member of the Tri Valley Lions and was an avid computer user. Sylvia was a loving, caring mother, wife and friend. She was always happy and always brought joy to other people's lives. She was a member of Newburgh Tabernacle Seventh Day Adventist in Newburgh and served in the church as a deaconess. She was a Community Services Worker and Clerk and a foster grandparent. Her passions were cooking and serving food to the community, friends, family, homeless and even the actor, Clifton Davis, visited her home. Strong, independent and fiesty to the end, her favorite saying was, "Let my words speak for me." She is the widow of the late Herbert Williamson. Surviving her are two daughters: Dorothy Council of Asheville, N.C. and Bernadette Stevens of Beacon, N.Y.; one son, Christopher Williamson of Newburgh, N.Y.; and her stepchildren: Ivy Lee Green, Rosie Belle Jackson and Selena Washington. Visitation will be held Monday January 17, 2005 from 10:00-11:00 AM in the Newburgh Tabernacle Seventh Day Adventist Church, 257 Grand St., Newburgh, N.Y. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, January 17 at the church with Dr. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Middlehope, N.Y. Arrangements were made by Brutus W.
