He was a wonderful husband, beloved father and adoring grandfather, who always made people smile. He was 70 years old. The son of Jobst A. and Elizabeth S. Roe Bieling, he was born July 7, 1934 in Goshen, N.Y. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was married to Helga Mattmuller. She was a retired registered Physical Therapist for Putnam County Health Department and Rockland County Health Department, and was also the director of health services for Rockland County Health Department. The daughter of the late Norton Blodgett and the late Clarice Middleton Blodgett, she was born February 9, 1927 in Lyons Falls, N.Y. Ellen was a lifelong member of Forest Presbyterian Church in Lyons Falls, and in recent years she faithfully worshipped at Fort Montgomery United Methodist Church in Fort Montgomery. Mrs. Kelder was born June 18, 1924 in Clintondale, N.Y., the daughter of the late Charles and Addie Ellis. Mrs. Kelder was a member of the Samsonville United Methodist Church of Olivebridge. She was active with the Women's Atwood Club, Olive Rebecca's and the Samsonville United Methodist Women's Club. Leora was one of the founding members of the Olive Rescue Squad and the Olive Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary. On August 22, 1942 Leora married Bradford V. Kelder in Olivebridge. He died in 1983. Leora is survived by her 12 children, Nancy Sigurdson of Lady Lake, Fla., Sue K. Kessel, a resident of the Town of Newburgh, passed away Friday night, January 21, at the Fishkill Health Center. She was 87 years of age. The daughter of the late Hermon H. Bullock and Mildred E. Burdick, Vivian was born at their Walden home on December 23, 1917. Mrs. Kessel was a dedicated member of the Moulton Memorial Baptist Church for seventy-five years. She was a member of the Beta Eta women's class, serving as secretary for several years. In addition, she assisted with Sunday School and Vacation Bible School events, playing piano and filling in whenever needed. Mrs. Kessel also volunteered her time delivering for Meals-On-Wheels and contributed to several Christian and Missionary Organizations. A 1934 graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, Vivian began her musical career at the age of fourteen. While attending NFA, she accompanied several musical organizations and served as church organist in several area churches, among them St. John's, the historic Dutch Reformed Church, the Meadow Hill Dutch Reformed Church and Moulton Memorial Baptist Church. She retired from the later position at the age of seventy-five. Mrs. Kessel attended Lycoming College in PA and had the opportunity to attend a summer piano institute at the Julliard School of Music in NYC. Mrs Kessel also shared her gift of music with many area students providing private music instruction from her home and serving as accompanist at the Avis Adams Lawton Voice Studio on Fullerton Ave. Vivian Bullock married George D. Kessel on April 23, 1939, at the Moulton Memorial Baptist Church. George had a beautiful tenor voice and it might be said "they made beautiful music together." When their daughter, Marilyn arrived in 1947, the duet expanded to a trio and the family spent many musical hours at home, on road trips, with their extended families and at their church. Mrs. Kessel is survived by her daughter Marilyn and son-in-law Thomas Scott, of the Town of Newburgh, her grandson Todd Scott and his wife Kristin and her great-granddaughter Melena of Saratoga Springs, NY, sister-in-law Edith Sambells and her husband Ed of New Windsor and brother-in-law Edmund Simpson and his wife Elaine of the Town of Newburgh. Martin, Cheryl Cheryl Martin, of Longmont, Colo., died Thursday, January 20, 2005 at the Hospice Care Center of Boulder and Broomfield Counties). She had a battle with breast cancer for four years in which she showed unbelievable courage, character, and a very positive attitude. Cheryl was born in Newburgh, NY to Robert and Delores Sholes on October 8, 1957. She graduated from NFA High School and Mount Saint Mary's College both in Newburgh, NY. She lived in Orange County, NY until 15 years ago when she moved to Longmont with her husband Tom and daughter Tara. Cheryl worked at IBM for 22 years in Hawthorne, NY where she met her husband Tom, Sterling Forest, NY, and Boulder, CO. Cheryl had been married to Tom Martin (originally from Yonkers, NY) for the past 22 years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend who loved to spend time with family and close friends She is survived by her husband Tom and two children Tara and Connor; her brother Robert Sholes & wife Vickie of Circleville, NY; 8 nieces and nephews; and 9 great nieces and nephews. Milligan, Delalora Mae Delalora Mae Milligan, a 61-year resident of Beacon, a retired maintenance engineer from Texaco Research Center, Glenham, N.Y., died Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at the Hudson Valley Rehabilitation and Extended Care Nursing Facility in Highland. She was 91. The daughter of the late Andy and Candice Sadler, she was born June 4, 1913 in Kings Mountain, S.C. Survivors include four sons, Murray Jones Milligan Sr. and wife N. Marie of Beacon, George Alfred Milligan and his wife Joan of Lake Placid, Fla., Robert Andrew Milligan and his wife Angela of Newburgh and Nathaniel Alexander Milligan of Hopewell Jct., N.Y.; one daughter, Barbara Ann Milligan of Beacon; one sister, Queen Esther McCloud of Union City, Ga.; sister-in-law, Ruby Sadler of Beacon; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
