Collins of Jamaica British West Indies, entered into eternal rest on January 21, 2005. He was 49 years young. Danny, as he was known to family and friends, was born and raised in Harlem, N.Y. He served a brief period in the New York National Guard and married his childhood sweetheart who preceded him in eternal rest in 1980. Danny moved to East Orange, New Jersey where he lived until moving to Newburgh in 1989. Philip Lima, passed away on January 22, 2005 after a courageous battle with diabetes. Our dad was an avid "old" Yankee fan who enjoyed gardening, refinishing furniture, and spending time with his grandchildren. He volunteered his time and energies helping children. He was a former coach and manager in the Stony Point Little League, past president of the North Rockland Central School District Board of Education, and was a founding member of Our Lady of Solace C.Y.O. in the Bronx. He also enjoyed the time he and our mom spent as members of The Stony Point Senior Citizens. We, the family, are comforted in knowing that he has joined our mother in eternal rest. She was predeceased by her brothers and sister, George Groover, William Groover, Alfred Groover, John Groover and Janet Babcock. VanderSchaaf, 66, owner and retired operator of the Country Store in Johnson, passed away Tuesday morning, January 25, 2005 in Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis. He was the son of the late Peter and Margaret (Peggy) Mack VanderSchaaf of Ridgebury. He was born April 8, 1938 in Middletown. Prior to buying the Country Store, Pete was a milk tester for D.H.I.A. and a sales representative for A.B.S. His hobbies included woodworking and watching sports on television. He is survived by his wife Janet (Smith) VanderSchaaf at home; daughters, Debra Hansen of Pennsylvania and Donna Williams and her husband Douglas of Ocean Isle Beach, N.C.; five grandchildren, Shane Hansen, Jill and Megan Mydosh and Deanna and Dashsa Williams; his brother Kenneth VanderSchaaf and his wife Gloria of Slate Hill; sister, Joyce King and her husband John of Spencer, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. Zwickel, 48, formerly of New York, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2005 at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, N.H. after a long illness. Born in New Brunswick, N.J., he was the son of Herbert and Bertha Versnel Zwickel. Mr. Zwickel was a H.V.A.C. Technician for over 25 years working for various companies. He had been working for Accurate Air of Manchester until the onset of his illness. Mr. Zwickel attended Gospel Baptist Church in Manchester. He was married to the former Cheryl Smith. Survivors include his wife Cheryl Smith Zwickel; two daughters, Angela Zwickel of Middletown, N.Y. and Danielle Singh of Ellenville, N.Y.; one stepson, Jeremy Chriss of Amsterdam; two sisters, Kathy O'Niell and Cinthia Caban both of Bloomingburg, N.Y.; one brother, Kenneth Zwickel of Toms River, N.J.; four grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Lenz and Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego St., Canajoharie. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the service.
