Mrs. Cox was born November 12, 1937 in Sullivan County, N.Y., daughter of the late Clarence Abplanalp and Edith Eronimus Abplanalp. She was a retired Postmaster. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard William "Bunny" Cox. Crudele, Charles Charles Crudele, a lifelong resident of Newburgh and former employee for Pilot Truck Stop in Newburgh, N.Y., died Sunday July 10, 2005 in St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus. He was 51 years old. The son of Michael and Dorothy Elliot Crudele, he was born April 15, 1954 in Newburgh, N.Y. He is survived by one sister, Michelle Crudele-Arnold and her husband, Thomas, of Wallkill; one brother, Robert Crudele and his wife, Virginia, of Indian Trail, N.C.; and nieces and nephews. Drejza, Carol M. and Teacher Carol M. Drejza, 59, of New Windsor, NY, after a courageous, year-long battle with cancer passed away to her Eternal Rest on Saturday July 16, 2005 at her home with her loving family at her side. A recently retired teacher at Gidney Avenue Elementary School of Newburgh (GAMS), she was devoted to her classroom children and her family with a special energy and talents that inspired those around her to achieve. She was the beloved heart and foundation of her family. Born Carol Novak in Newark, NJ, she attended school in Haverstraw, NY, Ladycliff Academy of the Highlands, St. Thomas Aquinas College and the State University of NY, where she earned Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Education and was designated as a master teacher. After high school, Carol entered the convent with the Dominican Order in Sparkill, NY to serve God for nearly a decade until 1970 as Sister Jean Edward. She was inspired in her youth by the model example of the late Reverend Edward J. Keehan. Her devotion to the religious life was not disguised in piety, but rather it was expressed in the joy of life she radiated in her daily activities. Among the Saints, she had a special devotion to St. Theresa of Lisieux and St. Bernadette of Lourdes. Among her special longtime friends are sisters Margaret Theresa of Manhattan, NY, and Laura Anne of Hays Montana.Later in life, Carol remained devoted to God as an active parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Newburgh. In 1972 Carol married Edward J. Drejza in the Holy Sacrament of Matrimony at St. Peters Church in Haverstraw, NY during a Mass celebrated by Father Edward Keehan. She touched the life of her husband for the next 33 years until her death, offering him the joy of her companionship, devotion, comfort, and contagious happiness. She inspired her three children with an unbounded selflessness, filling their home and their youth with laughter and a warmth that still envelopes them. Most especially Carol enjoyed traveling with her family. She introduced them to the ocean's beauty, the delight of Disney World, and the allure of the tropics. In her last months, she still found joy in visiting these places. At home, she loved watching the Yankees, dancing, playing the accordion, attending concerts everything that was full of life. Carol was a true friend who extended her enthusiastic love to so many and lived life with boundless joy. She dedicated herself to community and family in accordance with God's will and her own big heart. She was and is her husband's blessed little flower. "My blessed little flower, you shall be missed so deeply, but now enjoy the eternal peace of everlasting love with God. You have inspired us all with your life: 'The greatest thing you'll ever learn- is to love and be loved in return.' Everyone whose lives you touched loves you. LUX AETERNUM." Dominic Gallo, 89, a lifelong Poughkeepsie resident, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday July 16, 2005 after a long illness. He was born August 4, 1915 to Louis and Anna Napoli Gallo. Louis predeceased him and he was raised by his mother and stepfather, Rocco Riggitano. On December 15, 1941, Dominic enlisted and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in Europe and Africa, and attained the rank of Sergeant. He returned to Poughkeepsie, and on March 25, 1945, married Angelina Urciuoli, who survives him at home. They were married for sixty years. He was employed for over 40 years by Western Printing Publishing Company, from which he retired in 1978. Dominic may be remembered by area residents as he was the owner of several different businesses over the years, including the concession at Spratt Park and the Dairy Queen in Wappinger Falls, N.Y. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Jonathan S. Kimmel, 47, died Saturday July 16, 2005 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J. Born in New York City, he was raised in Monticello, and had resided there prior to settling in Piscataway in 1983. He graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. with a Bachelors of Arts Degree, and later earned his M.B.A. from Pace University. A computer architect for Morgan Stanley in Jersey City, he had been employed with them for the past 12 years. He was previously employed by Prudential Securities in Edison; Merrill Lynch in Somerset; and originally began his employment with Manufactures Hanover Trust in New York City. He was commonly referred to by his wife as the "pin ball wizard" for his love of the game. He is survived by his wife, Janet Lee Kimmel, at home; two sons, Robert S. and David B. Kimmel, both of Piscataway; and his uncle Stephen Wahrhaftig of New York. Woody was born in Teaneck, N.J., the son of Woodrow King and Frances (Erion) Gusty. He is survived by his mother, Frances Gusty of Mongaup Valley, N.Y.; his son, Woodrow King and his wife, Melissa, of Mountaindale; his daughter, Denise King of Livingston, N.J.; his two sisters, Sharon Nastro and her husband, Sam, of Mongaup Valley, and Judith Reynolds and her husband, Moose, of Monticello; his brother, Robert King and his wife, Barbara, of Queensbury, N.Y.; his grandchildren, Justin and Sean; and several nieces and nephews. McCue, a parts manager for Capitol Construction Company in Bow, N.H., died Wednesday July 13, 2005 in Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia, N.H. He was 50. He was the son of the late Donald J. McCue and Diane Hollingshead McCue, he was born August 10, 1954 in Cornwall, N.Y. An eight year resident of Laconia, N.H. and 42 year resident of Highland Falls, Donald received a Bachelor's Degree in History from Albany State University and was a star Lacrosse player at Albany State and R.I.T. colleges. He was an avid collector of Napoleonic miniatures and participated in Napoleon War Games through the east coast. He is survived by his mother, Diane H. McCue of Laconia, N.H.; brother, Richard McCue and his wife, Kathy, of Fort Montgomery, N.Y.; a niece, Crystal Begins; a nephew, Matthew McCue; as well as cousins, aunts and uncles. The daughter of the late Walter T. McNeil and Virginia R. Hodge, she was born November 30, 1944 in Newburgh, N.Y. Roll of Goshen, a plumber having retired from Coles Plumbing in Washingtonville, N.Y., and lifelong resident of the area, died Friday July 15, 2005 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Arden Hill Campus. He was 84. The son of Simon and Anna VerMuelen Roll, he was born December 1, 1920 in Paterson, N.J. A veteran, Mr. Roll served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the Goshen United Methodist Church and of the Cataract Engine and Hose Company. A family statement reads: "The last of an era of men who served their country during World War II, Jake was a man of high moral stature, integrity and a great sense of humor. He had a quick wit and a story for every occasion. Never one to complain, Jake lived life to its fullest, always finding some humor in its ups and downs." Survivors include his wife, Lucy Roll, at home; his daughter, Caryl Roll of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; and his brother, Frederick Roll of Middletown. Edwin Stoveland, formerly of the Bronx and five-year resident of the area, died Sunday July 17, 2005 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, N.Y. He was 77. The son of the late Edwin T. Stoveland and Katherine Pedersen Stoveland, he was born July 3, 1928 in the Bronx. Edwin was known as a man with a wonderful sense of humor. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Throgs Neck, N.Y.; the Wyoming Masonic Lodge #342 in the Bronx; and was a veteran serving in the United States Army.
