Born June 28, 1930 in Jermyn to the late Joseph G. & Jane George Ferguson, he moved to the Kinloch section of Lower Burrell with his family at the age of six, lived in Allegheny Township from 1955 - 1995, and resided in Lower Burrell the past ten years. Mr. Ferguson was founder (in 1962) and president of Ferguson Heating and Air Conditioning in Allegheny Township and was active in the company at the time of his death. He was a member of Pine Run Presbyterian Church in Allegheny Township, Bethel Lodge No. 789 Free & Accepted Masons of Lower Burrell., the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry of Pittsburgh, Syria Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. of Cheswick, Tall Cedars of Lebanon in Kittanning, and was a life member of the Kinloch Fire Department. Beloved husband (54 yrs.) of Betty J. Shearon Ferguson; beloved father of Ronald D. (Barbara Ann) Ferguson, Jr. of Wallkill, NY, Joseph G. (Elaine) Ferguson and David A. (Traci) Ferguson both of Allegheny Township; beloved grandfather of twins Kimberly A. & Karen M. Ferguson, Christina L., Sara L., Ronald J. & Nicholas R. Ferguson. Jenssen-Tusch, of Chester, a teacher for 25 years and longtime resident of the area, died July 23, 2005 at home. He was 86 years of age. The son of the late Chresten and Esther Jenssen-Tusch, he was born January 10, 1919 in Silkeborg, Denmark. He was a member of the American Legion, Nurnberg Alumni Association, National Education Association and was a Veteran of WW II. A family statement reads, "Hans was a lively and intelligent man with a great sense of humor. He was a devoted father, a loving grandfather and a wonderful friend." He was the widower of Traute Arnoldt. Hans is survived by his sister, Elle Fischer of Denmark, his companion Lizzie Frederiksen of Denmark. Other loved ones include his daughter Karin Snyder and husband Gary of Chester; three grandchildren Maryann Houston, Tanya Rovner and Keith Snyder; two great-grandchildren, Ethan Snyder and Ian Rovner; and several nieces and nephews in Denmark. Kearns, Reverend David Formerly of Middletown, N.Y. Reverend David Kearns, O. Carm., a member of the Order of Carmelites and of the North American Province of St. Elias, died at St. Simon Stock Priory in the Bronx, N.Y. on Monday, July 25, 2005. He was 71 years old. Father David was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on May 7, 1934 to John and Katherine Butler Kearns. Father David Kearns received his habit in the Order of Carmelites, North American Province of St. Elias in September, 1954 when he entered the Carmelite Novitiate. At the conclusion of his Novitiate year he professed First Vows of Obedience, Poverty and Chastity on September 8, 1955. He Professed his Solemn Vows on September 15, 1958 and was ordained to the priesthood on May 27, 1961 in the Chapel of St. Albert's Seminary in Middletown. A graduate of St. Bonaventure College in Olean, N.Y., studying philosophy, history and guidance counseling. He completed his theological studies while residing at Whitefriars Hall in Washington, D.C. Following his ordination to the priesthood, Father David taught high school students at St. Albert's Junior Seminary in Middletown before being assigned to Our Lady of the Scapular Church on East 28th Street in Manhattan where he served in Vocation ministry. In 1967 he was assigned to Mt. Carmel High School in Auburn, N.Y. as a teacher and in 1970 moved to Bishop Kearney High School in Rochester, N.Y., where he was both teacher and did guidance work until 1986. Between 1986 and 1988, Father David was involved in on-going formation and studies in both Purchase, N.Y. and Washington, D.C. He was later assigned to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Middletown in 1988, where he was the Parochial Vicar at the mission Churches of Holy Cross in South Centerville, N.Y. and Our Lady of the Scapular in Unionville, N.Y. He served at Saint Simon Stock Church on Valentine Avenue in the Bronx as a Parochial Vicar from 1998 until his death. During the entire time that Father David served at St. Simon Stock in the Bronx, it was his pleasure to celebrate Mass in Yankee Stadium each Sunday when the N.Y. Yankees were playing home games. He is survived by two sisters, Regina and Kathleen Kearns of Bayside, N.Y. and one brother, Richard Kearns (Catherine) of Weretown, N.J. He was predeceased by his parents and his twin brother, Kevin. The Wake will be held at Saint Simon Stock Church, 2191 Valentine Avenue, Bronx, NY 10457 on Wednesday, July 27 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Evening Prayer will be celebrated at 8 p.m. A Wake will then be held at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Carmelite Drive, Middletown, NY 10940 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 28. Klussman, Edward M. Formerly of Middletown, N.Y. Edward M. Klussman, 74, passed away July 22, 2005 in Vero Beach, Fla. Ed, the son of the late William and Ethel Klussman, was a native of the Hudson Valley where he spent the majority of his life in Middletown and Westbrookville, N.Y. After graduating from Middletown High School in 1950, Ed attended Orange County Community College. Ed served in the United States Army as a medic stationed in Texas from 1951 until 1953 where he was Honorably Discharged. In 1955, Ed married the former Marilyn Griffis at Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Middletown. Ed served as a Trust Officer at Orange County Trust Company where he was employed for 33 years. An affable man with a quick laugh and an easygoing personality, Ed was often active in his community. Ed donated much of his time to serve others as a Little League and Pop Warner coach as well as members of the Middletown Lions and Elks Clubs. Ed was an active member of Mt. Carmel Church in Middletown and Holy Name Church in Otisville. As an avid sports fan and outdoorsman, he enjoyed gardening, walking, and watching baseball and football games throughout his life. A committed and dedicated family man, Ed is survived by his wife of 50 years Marilyn, his son, Michael Klussman of Mountaindale and his wife Judy, daughter Kelly Patterson of Middletown and her husband Jeff; grandchildren Jason, David and Megan Klussman of Mountaindale; and sister-in-law Patricia Fox of Vero Beach. Lindsey, Gweneth Jeter Gweneth Jeter Lindsey, a longtime Port Jervis, N.Y. and Hudson Valley resident, died in Carlsbad, New Mexico on July 14, 2005. Gwen had recently moved to Carlsbad to accept a position at Carlsbad Medical Center as an inpatient occupational therapist. Gwen was born in Jacksonville, Fla. in 1950 and grew up in Oak Ridge, Tenn. and San Diego, Calif., before attending Rockland County Community College and Dominican College of Blauvelt. Gwen was a nationally accredited occupational therapist and a former adjunct faculty member at Orange County Community College. Her professional experience spanned 25 years, including work at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Therapy Resources of Middletown, Middletown Park Manor, Hudson Valley Nursing Center, Orange County Community Service, Goshen Day Treatment Center and J-L Dispatch Company. Gwen's interests and hobbies included devotion to her two cats, swimming, camping, classical music and American Literature. Daniel J. Lysyczyn, of Middletown, a former laborer at General Switch in Middletown and lifelong resident of the area, died Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus in Middletown. He was 54. The son of William Spiers Jr. and Florence Bunton, he was born June 2, 1951 in Middletown, N.Y. A Veteran, Mr. Lysyczyn served in the US Airforce. Survivors include his mother, Florence Bunton of Middletown; his father William Spiers Jr. of Middletown; stepfather Alex Lysyczyn of Middletown; sister Donna Mydosh of Walden; brothers, Thomas Lysyczyn of Burlingham, Steven Lysyczyn of Greenville and David Lysyczyn of Pine Bush; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was born in Arlington, Vt. on May 2, 1918 to the late Anton and Anna Robinson Schwarzkopf. She later moved to Brooklyn, N.Y. and was a graduate of Erasmus High School. On Nov. 3, 1947, Floris married Robert Price. They resided in Smallwood for over 50 years. Robert passed away on Sept. 9, 1984. Floris moved to Whitesboro, N.Y. in 1997. She was a member of the Mongaup Valley United Methodist Church and of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post # 5499 White Lake, N.Y. A devoted homemaker and mother, Floris enjoyed her time caring for her husband and children. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Floris and Manuel Bernal of Orlando, Fla.; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Mary Ellen Price of Deerfield, N.Y.; and two cherished granddaughters, Katie and Mary Alyssa Price of Deerfield. The son of the late Tomas and Tomasa Aviles Tirado, he was born December 8, 1925 in Puerto Rico. Jose is survived by one son, Joseph Tirado and his wife, Kathleen, of Ocala, Fla.; and one daughter, Sylvia Quiles and her husband, Miguel, of Middletown; seven grandchildren: Kathryn, Junior, Yvonne, Ellie, Kristina, Stefanie, and Melaine; as well as two great grandsons, Matthew and Anthony. Born on September 6, 1919 in Warwick, N.Y, she was the daughter of George Rudy and Mary Catherine Koch Rudy. She was married to the late Charles Edward Umhey Sr. Survivors include three sons, John Umhey of Warwick, Charles Umhey Jr., MD of Milltown, Montana and James Umhey, MD of Warwick; three grandchildren, Andrew, Charles and James; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Helen Stasinis of Millburn, N.Y., Marion Sanford of Warwick and Fran Halvorsen of Louisburg, Pa.; many nieces and nephews. Waters, a lifelong resident of Newburgh, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2005 at home. She was 90. Daughter of the late John and Barbara Kainjka Farkas, she was born on November 14, 1914 in Roseton, N.Y. She was married to the late Edwin Waters. A family statement reads, "Aunt Juell was appropriately named because she was a jewel, a rare jem. She was hardworking, clean, kind and generous. She loved flowers, birds and animals. She had many friends and family members who loved her dearly. She was a good role model for all who knew her. We will miss her dearly." Juell was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Roseton. Survivors include her brother, Peter Farkas of Newburgh; her sister Ann Morehead and her husband Linc of Newburgh; and several nieces and nephews.
