She was 84. The daughter of the late Cornelius Prussia and Lucy Collins, she was born May 28, 1921 in Port Jervis. She was the widow of Lloyd Coss. Survivors include one daughter, Cynthia Hagg and husband Arthur of Montague, N.J.; one son Wade Coss and wife Mai of Montague; one granddaughter, Linda Coss and husband Luke of Montague; one grandson, Jessie Coss of Salt Lake City, Utah; one great-grandson, Rowan; one sister, Joan Roach of Port Jervis; and several nieces and nephews. Crofoot, John Rea Formerly of Middletown, N.Y. John Rea Crofoot, born July 14, 1925, son of Robert Rea & Louie Higby Crofoot in Constableville, N.Y., entered into rest May 28, 2005 after a long battle with Multiple Myloma. John graduated Constableville High School in 1943 and joined the US Navy in October 1943 serving on LST 629 in the Pacific. He returned in April of 1946. He married the late Jean Gleasman. They had a son, Dennis John Crofoot and a daughter, Rosemary Crouse. Jean died of Cancer December 28, 1954. In October of 1956 he married Rose Bickford officiated by Father Edward Goulet at St. Joseph's Church, Boonville, N.Y. They had a daughter, Nancy Crofoot and three sons: Steven Michael, Douglas Paul and John Richard. John worked thirty-six years for General Telephone in Boonville, Johnstown and Middletown, N.Y. He retired in 1987. John was a past lector at St. Joseph's Church in Middletown. Also, he was past President and District Governor of the Middletown Lions Club serving in 1985-1986; also a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus; a former President of Middletown Little League; a Scout Master in the Cub Scouts. John was also active in the Palm Harbor, Fla. Lions Club, the Salvation Army, and the Elks Club and American Legion in Middletown as well as a volunteer fireman. John is survived by his devoted wife, Rose Bickford Crofoot, at home; his sons, Dennis Crofoot and his wife Debbie of Boonville, N.Y.; Steven Crofoot and his wife Andrea of Pine Bush; Douglas Crofoot and his companion Dawn Boehlke of Haines Falls, N.Y.; and John Crofoot and his wife Karen of Montgomery, N.Y. Two daughters, Rosemary Crouse and her husband Gerald of Boonville, N.Y. and Nancy Crofoot of Newtown, Conn. In addition, a brother, Donald Crofoot of Port Leydon, N.Y., eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. She was a four year resident of New York City and previously lived in the state of Florida. She married Charles "Charlie" A. Martin on October 29, 1939 in New York City. He predeceased her on November 24, 1999. Mr. Pignetti was an accountant at IBM, East Fishkill, N.Y., retiring in 2002 after 30 years of service, and also owned and operated P&K Tax Services in Beacon. He was a former president and captain of Lewis Tompkins Hose Co., Beacon, a member of VFW, Beacon, the Elks in Naples, St. Rocco's Society, Beacon, and the Catholic League of America, and was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist, Beacon. Smalls Sr., Darrell Earl Darrell Earl Smalls, Sr., 40, died Friday May 27, 2005 at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, N.Y. An 8-year resident of New Windsor, he was born August 20, 1964, in New York City to Auto Lee Smith and the late Thomas Smalls. He was a laborer at Brock Tracking Co., Newburgh, N.Y. Survivors include his mother, Auto Lee Smith of North Charleston, S.C., two sons, Darrell Earl Smalls, Jr., and Vincent Smalls, two daughters, Marquita Delgado and Patricia Duncan all of New York City, N.Y., two brothers, Keith E. Sollinger, Jr., of Black Rock Rd., Warwick, entered into rest at home on May 29, 2005. He leaves his wife, Shirley Weil Sollinger; his children: Robert W. Sollinger, III and his wife, Angeline Ho Sollinger, of Reston, Va., Sally Marie Sandusky and her husband, Carl, of Boulder, Colo., Anne Elizabeth Murphy and her husband, James, of Fuller, Calif., Joan Patricia Kaiser and her husband, Edward, of Scotch Plains, N.J., and Mark A. Sollinger and his wife, Angela Parsons Sollinger, of St. Martin, FWI. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Miles Sollinger, Corey and Leigh Sandusky, Scott Kaiser and Samantha Sollinger. He was born February 25, 1927 to Robert W. Sollinger and Marie Beaulieu Sollinger in Syracuse, N.Y. He attended Hamilton College for his undergraduate work and did his post-graduate work at Fairfield University. He was a guest lecturer at Yale University School of Design and also at Syracuse University Newhouse School of Journalism. He began his career in Public Relations and Advertising with Motorola in 1952 in Chicago, Ill. In 1952 he returned to Syracuse, N.Y. to join the General Electric Co. and in 1963 joined the IBM Corp. at their corporate headquarters in Armonk, N.Y. He retired from IBM in 1978, having received several professional awards, including the prestigious Graphic Arts Award in 1968 and 1970. In his retirement he enjoyed being an active participant in the Warwick Historical Society and pursuing his many other interests. He particularly enjoyed Warwick and the many friends he made in the community. Interment will be at the Crown Hill Memorial Park in Clinton, N.Y. on a hillside overlooking the Chapel at Hamilton College across the valley. Walsh, of Newburgh, a long time area resident, entered into rest on Monday, May 30, 2005 in Hudson Valley Rehabilitation Center in Highland. She was 68. Daughter of the late Anthony J. and Helen C. Pilewski Varone, she was born August 24, 1936 in Brooklyn. Survivors include her children, Mark J. Walsh of Albany, John V. Walsh of Newburgh, Thomas B. Walsh of Brooklyn and Kevin B. Walsh of Brooklyn; one brother, Gerald A. Varone and his wife Caroline of Newburgh; one sister, Celeste A. Surowiec and her husband William of Brooklyn; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Martin J. Varone. Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, June 2 at the Brooks-DiDonato Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh.
