The daughter of Wesley and Edna Lounsbury Welling, she was born November 8, 1928 in Goshen. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, Lodge #0 Home Chapter. She was the widow of Robert E. Branning. Survivors include her three sons, Frank Pettine of Montgomery, Robert Pettine of Montgomery and Michael Pettine of Acworth, Ga.; two daughters, Christine Mumma of Walden and Ruth Ann Hall of Montgomery; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Arthur Welling, William Welling and sisters, Caroline VanBuren and Helen Ray. She was 85. The daughter of the late Frank Mazzeo and the late Stella Casella Mazzeo, she was born April 19, 1920 in Jersey City, N.J. She was the widow of Nicholas L. Caruso. Hines, a lifelong area resident, died Tuesday June 14, 2005 at home in Middletown. She was 72 years old. The daughter of the late Walter and Frances Cambareri McLean, Mary was born on May 15, 1933 in Otisville. Mary was a 1950 graduate of M.H.S., where she was a twirler and head majorette, and in 1951 rode on a float in the Orange Bowl Parade in Florida. Mary owned and operated Mary and Jamie's Deli on West Main Street in Middletown for 10 years and was married to James S. Hines, who predeceased her on July 14, 1977. A family statement reads: "Known by many as Nana, she was the matriarch of our family. Mom was a kind, giving and friendly woman who cared so much about others. She was a thoughtful and wonderful person who will be greatly missed." Mary is survived by two daughters, Jan Silvernail and her husband, Doug, and Jamie Conklin and her husband, Jim, both of Middletown; four grandchildren: Jonathan Conklin, Jay Silvernail, Kyle Silvernail and Heidi Silvernail; two great-grandchildren, Jared and Raeleigh Silvernail and five siblings: Walter, John and Merlyn McLean of the state of Florida and Frances Ogden and Charlie McLean of Otisville. The daughter of the late Dallas Pickett and Vivian E. Anderson, she was born July 28, 1942 in Newburgh, N.Y. Audrey was a taxi driver for Bob's Taxi in Newburgh, and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Newburgh. She served faithfully in the ministries of the church as a Superintendent of the Sunday School, Echo Choral Ensemble, Food Pantry of Tuesdays and the Newburgh Housing Authority. She is survived by four grandchildren: Tanisha Burger and her fianc‚, Berisford Hutchinson, Tenille Anderson and fianc‚, Charles Melvin, Trista Johnson and James Anderson, all of Newburgh; nine great-grandchildren; longtime friend and prayer partner, Earl Sharpe; several relatives and many friends. Linacre, Charles "Charlie" Charles "Charlie" Linacre, a retired Quality Control Inspector at IBM in Kingston, N.Y., died Tuesday June 14, 2005 at Golden Hill Health Care Facilities after a long illness. He was 79. The son of the late Joseph Linacre and the late Florence Fitch, he was born April 13, 1926 in New Paltz, N.Y., where he has lived all of his life. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He married Victoria "Skeeter" E. Conner on July 29, 1951, who survives him at home. He is also survived by his daughter, Debra Lynn Wilson of Colorado; his brother, Joseph Linacre of Colorado; two sisters, Helen Ross of Kingston, and Marguerite Murray of Hyde Park, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Charles Joseph Linacre, who died in 1965, and by a brother, Lorin Linacre. He was born August 26, 1952 in Manhattan, N.Y. to Michael and Iris Quinones Maldonado. Mr. Maldonado served in the U.S. Air Force. Michael was a past Police Commissioner for the town of Mount Hope. Malek, Irving Irving Malek, longtime resident of Monticello and a retired owner and operator of several Delis's, including one across from Yankee Stadium in New York, died on Tuesday June 14, 2005 at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, N.Y. He was 88. Irving was a World War II Army veteran serving with a heavy construction battalion in the Pacific Theater. He was a graduate of Yeshiva University in New York. He was born on February 12, 1917 in Czechoslovakia, the son of Rabbi Joseph and Sadie Skolnik Malek. He was a member of the Monticello Senior Citizens Club. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Spring Malek, at home in Monticello; his five sons: Michael Malek of Tennessee, David and Glenn Malek of Monticello, Stephen Malek of Long Island and Jerry Malek and his wife, Carol, of Smallwood; his four grandchildren; Zachary, Mark, Andrew and Adam; and many nieces and nephews. McFadden, Dr. Cornell Dr. Cornell McFadden of Newburgh and Chapel Hill, N.C., a retired well-known physician, died peacefully on Tuesday June 14, 2005 at UNC Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill, N.C. He was 87. The son of the late Reverend Ralph and Nina May Inman McFadden, he was born November 7, 1917 in St. Louis, Mo. Dr. McFadden grew up and lived in Newburgh, where he practiced OBGYN for 33 years (1949-1982). He earned his medical degree at NYU College of Medicine in 1943; interned at the Brooklyn Hospital from 1943-1944. He then served in the Army Corps of Engineers as a Captain from 1944-1946. He completed his residency in OBGYN at Jersey City Medical Center and Bellview Hospital from 1946-1949. He was a Chief of OBGYN service for ten years and Chief of Staff (1961-1962) at St. Luke's Hospital in Newburgh, N.Y. Dr. McFadden performed many deliveries and surgical procedures at Cornwall Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Johnsie Patterson McFadden of Chapel Hill, N.C.; son, David C. McFadden and wife, Robin, and their two sons, Jake Paul Inman McFadden and Derek Cornnell McFadden, of Tuxedo Park, N.Y.; his daughter, Nancy J. Haley of Elizaville, N.Y.; and his sister, Kathleen and her husband, John Glover, of Houston. Dr. McFadden's first wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Brownlee McFadden, died of cancer in 1986 after 39 years of marriage. Price, Kenneth William Kenneth William Price, 75, of Highland, died at home on June 10, 2005 with his family by his side after a valiant and courageous seven-year struggle with cancer. A 45-year resident of Highland, Mr. Price had previously resided in Long Branch, N.J. He was a member of the IBM Country Club. He was employed by IBM of Poughkeepsie for 36 years, receiving numerous promotions and commendations for his ideas. He retired in 1990. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran from 1947-1951. Mr. Price received the following Radar Tech Sgt. honors: Army OCC Medal (Japan), Korean Service Med. Active Duty, Good Conduct Medal for Character and Efficiency of Excellence. He was a proud descendant of great-great-grandfather "John Severe", who was the first governor of Tennessee. He was an avid Civil War Historian; was a strong supporter of 40 years to the Highland Football Team; and enjoyed the music of Boots Randolph and Stan Kenton. Born in Long Branch, N.J. on May 22, 1930, he was the son of Frank and Rose Price. He graduated from Long Branch High School and attended the University of Illinois. On September 29, 1956 he married Deloris Nadine Patterson. Mrs. Price survives him at home in Highland. In addition to his wife, he is survived by seven children: Sandra, Rita, Sheryl, Chuck, Jennifer, John and Kenny; 13 grandchildren: Donny, Tommy, Jamie, Danielle, Christina, Frankie, Nyree, Brandy, Meagan, Brett, Erica, Brandon, and Alexandra; and eight great-grandchildren: Samantha, Devin, Shawn, Ariel, Nicolas, Toby, Tyler and Joey; one brother, Richard Price; and a sister, Edie Wooley, both of New Jersey. He was predeceased by his siblings: Jack, Laura, Frank, and Betty of New Jersey. DONALD WARREN GOODMAN Wrightsville, Pa. Donald Warren Goodman, 74, died Saturday, June 4, 2005 at home in Wrightsville, Pa. surrounded by his family members. He was born and raised in Reading, Pa. He is survived by his brothers, George Goodman, Robert Goodman and wife Joan and his sister Anna Mae Hoffman along with her husband Lester. His surviving children include Kim Beebe, Jody Stevenson and Donald C. Goodman. His seven loving grandchildren include Tyler, Lindsey, and Alec Beebe, Tucker and Shelley Stevenson, and Brittany and Donald Goodman. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and many dear and true friends from around the globe. He was predeceased by his youngest daughter, Susan Goodman. Donald served in the Korean War with the 148th Fighter Squadron. He began his career as a salesperson for Hercules Powder Company eventually owning and operating his own drilling and blasting companies. He distinguished himself in his profession by performing the largest underwater blast ever, using conventional high explosives during construction on the Saint Lawrence Seaway and was instrumental at that time in the discovery of presplit blasting, a method used extensively throughout the world today for achieving rock high wall safety and stability. Donald resided in Fort Lee, N.J. for the greater part of his adult life. He is remembered for his entrepreneurial spirit and kindness to people from all cultures and walks of life. He lived each day to the fullest working hard and playing hard. He shared of himself and in the dreams of others while taking each day and whatever it had to offer, one day at a time. Josephine was a 75-year parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh, and served as a Eucharist Minister. She was 87. Saba was born in Poland on March 9, 1918, the daughter of Shimon Zvi & Rafka Wulkan. She was a member of Ezrath Israel Synagogue in Ellenville, and founded and funded a special award in Ellenville High School for Holocaust studies. She is survived by her two sons: Dr. Stanley Wainapel and his wife Wendy Feldman of New York, N.Y. and Harvey Wainapel of San Francisco, Calif.; her sister: Esther Herschkopf of Far Rockaway, N.Y.; her granddaughter, Samantha Ji Ping Wainapel; and her niece, nephew and cousins.
