Formerly of Goshen, N.Y. Arthur G. Abbott, 76, of Venice, Fla., died March 28, 2005. He was born on September 6, 1928 in Paterson, N.J. He retired from Nu Car Carriers in New Jersey after 33 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II. He moved to Venice, Fla. 16 years ago from Goshen. He was a member of the American Legion Post #159 in Venice, and also a member of Epiphany Cathedral in Venice. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lucy, of Venice; his children: Arthur P. Abbott of Cornwall, Mary Ammon of Stamford, Conn., Michael Abbott of Mount Hope, N.Y., Steven Abbott of Otisville, N.Y., Arlene Lempka of Media, Pa., Jean Bruder of Media, Pa., Theresa Abbott of Dennis, Colo., and the late Lucy Ann Abbott. He leaves behind a sister, Josephine Larina of Paterson, N.J.; a brother, Herbert Abbott of Wayne, N.J.; and was predeceased by his brothers, Bill and Chuck. Born on July 27, 1914 in Farsund, Norway, she was the daughter of Enoch and Malla Tonnessen Hansen. She was the widow of Johannes Andersen. She is survived by her son, John Andersen and his wife, Marie, of Warwick; and three grandchildren: John, Michael and Evelyn. She was predeceased by two sisters, Anna and Mary; and two brothers, Paul and Hans. Barone, Anthony Anthony Barone, former owner of The Minuteman and Club 32, entered into rest on Tuesday March 29, 2005 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was 79. The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Vito Barone, he was born May 7, 1925 in Italy. He was a member of the American Legion, Masons, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Anthony was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn Barone; two sons, Thomas and Ronald Barone; and one brother, Sam Barone. He is survived by his grandson, Ronald J. Brennie, a seamstress in New York City and Highland, retiring in 1967 and 57-year resident of Highland, died March 30, 2005 at home. She was 98. The daughter of Antonio Ferro and Grace Congelosi, she was born February 5, 1907 in Comporeale, Sicily. She was married on January 26, 1940 in Rosedale, L.I. to Vito "Willie" Brennie. He passed away in 1967. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and St. Augustine R.C. Church, Highland. She is survived by two sons, one daughter and their spouses. Della Pia, Ralph Ralph Della Pia, a 21-year resident of Port St. Lucie and former longtime Middletown resident, died after a heroic battle with cancer Sunday, March 27, 2005 at his home. He was 78 years old. The son of the late Alfred and Anna Manzo Della Pia, Ralph was born on February 15, 1927 in Patterson, N.J. Ralph was a proud veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Army and was married to the former Jean Broas, who predeceased him April 6, 2001 after 56 years of marriage. Ralph was the former owner of Rosen Glass and was a mechanic with Orange and Rockland Utilities until his retirement in 1984 and enjoyed scuba diving and hunting. Ralph is survived by two sons, Ralph Della Pia and his wife Donna of Valrico, Fla. and Carmen Della Pia and his wife MaryAnn of Middletown; one brother Alfred Della Pia Jr. of Long Island; one sister, Antoinette Heitman of North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Robert, Jeremy, Jennifer, Tracy, Leslie, Michael and Jenna; 6 great-grandchildren and his daughter-in-law, Georgia of Sparrowbush. Besides his wife, Ralph was predeceased by two sons, Robert and Michael. Rosemary Magdalen Fisher of Red Hook, died Saturday March 22, 2005 at the Roscoe Community Nursing Home in Roscoe, N.Y., from complications arising from a stroke she suffered in 2002. She was 84. Mrs. Fisher was born in New Hartford, N.Y. on April 30, 1920. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's High School in Utica, N.Y. and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of St. Rose in 1942. The former Rosemary Fischer, Mrs. Fisher met her husband-to-be, Edgar D. Fisher, at a college social, where they were introduced on account of the homophonous surnames. During World War II, Mrs. Fisher taught high school in Jewell and Chadwicks, N.Y. and married Mr. Fisher on July 13, 1946 upon his return from his Army service in the Pacific. While raising three sons and maintaining the Fisher household, she served as treasurer for the Red Hook Central School District and also home-schooled a child with cerebral palsy from junior high through high school. After that she taught high school business courses first at the Germantown Central School and later at Red Hook Central School until her retirement in 1979. Mrs. Fisher was also one of the founding staff members at the "Barrytown Explorer" newspaper, serving as treasurer. She was a communicant at St. Christopher's R.C. Church in Red Hook. She also served for many years on the board of the Red Hook Public Library and was active in the Upper Red Hook Historical Society. Mrs. Fisher's many other interests included reading, knitting and current events. She was proactive in support of superior education at the Red Hook Central School. Mrs. Fisher is survived by two sons, Michael and his wife, Karen, of Kenoza Lake, N.Y., and Mark and his wife, Margot, of Teaneck, N.J.; her daughter-in-law, Mary Susan Sabol and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Edgar; her parents, Cecelia and Francis Fischer; and a son, Thomas. A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date. Gisiano died Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at home with his family around him. The son of John and Anna Oddo Gisiano, he was born on February 14, 1920 in New York City. He was predeceased by his brother John. Phil is survived by his loving and devoted wife Ethel, at home, daughters Marianna Greco of Pine Bush, Debra and her husband Jerry Howard of Highland, sons Philip and his wife Dana of Kingston and Stephen Kneeter and wife Madalyn of Milton. His grand children are Michael, Christina, Matthew, Jared, Gregory, Bryan, Adam, Daniel and Norah. His nephew John and wife Mary Jane of North Carolina. Phil was Town Justice of Plattekill for 19 years and worked for 36 years at IBM. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He served his community on the Highland Board of Education, Plattekill Planning Board, and Zoning Board of Appeals. He was also a member of the Lions Club of Plattekill and Highland. With his parents and brother, he owned the Belle Clare Boarding House, and the Gisiano Night Club in Port Ewen. Phil served in the Armed Forces as a member of the 19th Photo Division, serving in the Pacific Theater from 1942-1946. He was a member of the local American Legion. Occhipinti, Sister Mary Immaculate Sister Mary Immaculate Occhipinti, CSAC, Pallottine Sister, died at St. Patrick's Villa, Harriman, N.Y. on March 29, 2005 after a long illness. She was 88 years old. Sr. Immaculate was born on February 17, 1917 in Forest City, Pa., daughter of Michael Occhipinti and Rosina Al£. She entered the Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate in Harriman, N.Y. on June 29, 1934. She made her first profession of vows in August 1937 and her perpetual profession in 1942. In May 2005, she was scheduled to celebrated her Seventieth Jubilee in religious life. Sr. Immaculate spent most of her 59 years of active religious life as an elementary school teacher of various grades in the community and parish schools of Brooklyn, Manhattan and Bronx, in Union City and Kearny, N.J. in Providence, R.I. and Sacramento, Calif. For several years, she was principal of St. Lucy's School, Manhattan. For the last ten years of her teaching career, she taught computer word processing to the students of Holy Rosary Academy, Union City, N.J. She retired in 1996 and moved to St. Patrick's Villa, Harriman, N.Y. During the past year, her health deteriorated gradually, but Sr. Immaculate never complained and was always cheerful and patient. She died peacefully at home with her fellow Sisters praying around her bed. She is survived by one sister and several nieces and nephews. Sister Immaculate was cheerful and fun-loving, a mischievous elf. She loved people and parties. She collected miniatures and was exceptionally creative in many arts and crafts. She was always fascinated by little children and loved bestowing on them her pretty gifts. Born on September 15, 1925 in Sicily Italy to the late Francisco and Carmelina Guggino Valenti. Attilio married Gina LoCicero in Italy on February 20, 1955. After they got married the moved to the United States to start a new life as husband and Wife. Attilio was the former owner of Lino and Attilio Barber shop where he worked for 36 years. Survivors include his devoted wife of 50 years Gina of Newburgh; loving son Frank and his wife Jennifer of Delmar N.Y.; dear brother Dominico Valenti of Sicily, Italy, Umberto Valenti of Genoa, Italy; loving sister Teresa Valenti of Sicily, Italy and Gina Reina of Sicily, Italy; cherished granddaughter Sarah. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Francis LoCicero; nieces Patricia in Genoa, Italy, Maria and Lena Valenti of Sicily, Italy and Lisa Arestin; nephews Salvatore and Ignazio of Sicily, Italy, Rick and John LoCicero. Wiley of Marlboro, a retired steam fitter of Local 638 and 30 year resident of the area, entered into rest on March 29, 2005 at Vassar Brothers Hospital. He was the widower of Mary Ann Wiley and the father of nine. The son of William R. and Alma M. Wiley, he was born March 26, 1927 in Brooklyn, N.Y. He married Mary Ann Cecelia Herold on October 10, 1948 in Hicksville, Long Island. Mr. Wiley enlisted in the U.S. Navy in April, 1944 and proudly served his country during World War II. A knighted member of the Knights of Columbus since 1957, Mr. Wiley was also a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church in Marlboro. A deeply devoted husband, father and grandfather, he lived and followed the motto, "Laughter is the best medicine." Survivors include two sisters, Roberta and her husband, Alfred Ekberg, of the state of Florida, and Norma Mugno of Long Island; one brother, William Wiley and his wife, Jean, of the state of Florida; three sons: Michael R. Wiley and his wife, Gwendolyn, of Wappinger Falls, Patrick D. Wiley and his wife, Gina, of Marlboro, and Shawn T. Wiley and his wife, Rose, of Milton; five daughters: Linda M. Borges of Malta, N.Y., Suzan L. Kehr and her husband, Michael, of Clintondale, N.Y., Delores M. Wiley, Judith Ann Wiley and Katherine M. McDonald, Jr., a lifelong Newburgh area resident, died suddenly of a heart attack at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in Cornwall on March 28, 2005. He was 47. Son of John W. McDonald, Sr. and the late Dorothy T. McDonald, he was born February 12, 1958 in Newburgh. Besides his love for his daughter, Alex, his other love was music. He was the bass guitarist for the band, "Dead Giveaway". John was also a member of the I.B.E.W. Local 363 and a past member of Winona Lake Engine Company #2. Survivors include his daughter, Alex Mary McDonald, whom he loved dearly; his father, John W.
