Carl G. Bennett Sr., a retired brakeman for the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad, and lifelong area resident, died Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at the Montgomery Nursing Home. He was 87. The son of the late Floyd and Clarabelle Brown Bennett, he was born September 21, 1917 in East Branch, N.Y. He was the widower of Eva Bennett. Surviving are two sons, Carl G. Bennett Jr. and wife Judy of Fallsburg, William F. Bennett Sr. and wife Sue of Montgomery; two daughters, Lora Carlew and husband Jim of Montgomery, Joan Kratochwil and husband Phil of Wallkill; son-in-law, Bruce Carlew of Wallkill; daughter-in-law, Louise Bennett of Bloomingburg; brother, Harry Bennett of Watertown; two sisters, Marion Romer of Montgomery, Bertha DeMao of Walden; 20 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son, Leon Bennett; one daughter, Eva Carlew; and two brothers, Douglas and Leon Bennett. Bloomer, Wendell Sears Wendell Sears Bloomer, a lifetime resident of Marlboro and fruit farmer for JW Bloomer and Sons, Marlboro, died May 10, 2005 at home. He was 95. The son of the late Joseph Bloomer and Mabel Sears, he was born November 12, 1909 in Marlboro. He was a choir member at his church. Survivors include his daughters, Mary Madson of Long Island, N.Y. and Sara and Patrick Callanan of Virginia; grandson, Jeremy Madson; and granddaughter, Rebecca Madson. He was predeceased by sister, Frances Kramer and wife Lela Alice Key Bloomer. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, May 12 at the DiDonato Funeral Home, 1290 Rt 9W, Marlboro. Dickerman, Dr. Richard Dr. Richard Dickerman, 81, formerly of New Windsor, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, May 6, 2005, at his home in Endwell, N.Y. surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret Dickerman, Endwell; his daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Robert Wolford, Kirkwood, N.Y.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Maggie Dickerman, Endwell, Gary and Katherine Dickerman, Vienna, Va.; four grandchildren, Jennifer Potenzino and her husband, Brian, Christopher Stoeckel and his wife, Billie Jo, Jonathan Stoeckel and Kelsey Dickerman; four great-grandchildren, Kristi and Alex Potenzino, Ethan and Macenzi Stoeckel; two brothers, Robert Dickerman, New Mexico, Donald Dickerman, Arizona. He was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church, Endwell, and a former member of Grace United Methodist Church, Newburgh, where he was a devoted and active member for both churches. He was a retired Lt. Colonel serving in the U.S. Army Reserves. Dr. Dickerman was born and raised in Ithaca, N.Y. He received his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Cornell University, and his Ph.D. from the University of Sarasota. He began his career as Vice Principal in E. Lansing, N.Y. After moving to Endwell, he became Assistant Superintendent, and at times Acting Superintendent, for the Maine-Endwell School District, retiring after 21 years. He then became Vice President at Mt. St. Mary College in Newburgh, where he presided over a dramatic growth of college facilities and enrollment over the next 21 years. He retired at the age of 79 to act as the primary caregiver to his beloved wife, Margaret, and moved back to Endwell to be closer to his family. Dr. Dickerman enjoyed traveling with his wife, woodworking, and music, especially playing the organ. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who lived an active life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family wishes to thank the Hospice program and Dr. Dickerman's special caregivers for the love and compassion that was shown to him over the past several months. A memorial service will be held Friday, May 13, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at Northminster Presbyterian Church, corner of Farm to Market and Hooper Roads, Endwell, with the Rev. Dr. Barry Downing and Rev. Dr. Barbara Renton officiating. Son of Vincent and Carol Femenella, he was born October 17, 1987. A family statement reads, "Anthony loved music, people and he never forgot anyone. He had an outgoing personality and was very loving. Our son was beautiful." Anthony was a member of Independent Living and the Adaptive Ski Program at Windham. In addition to his parents, Anthony is also survived by maternal grandmother Frances Taylor of Florida; his paternal grandmother Laura Femenella of Long Island, and many loving friends. Hrabowecky of Kerhonkson, N.Y., died Sunday May 8, 2005. She was 89. Helen was born in Nesquehoning, Pa. on November 8, 1915, daughter of John and Elizabeth (Yevchak) Tokash. Helen was married to Michael Hrabowecky on March 26, 1975 and they have lived in Kerhonkson for over 30 years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church and of the Amalgamated Union. Before moving to Kerhonkson, Helen had lived in New York City where she was a machine operator for Goodstein Manufacturing. Helen is survived by her husband, Michael; her sister, Irene; her sister-in-law, Mary; her niece, Barbara Kynik and husband, Orest; their children, Nadia and Stephen; her nephew, Stephen J. Tokash and wife, Anne; their children: Christene, Steven and Julie Ann; numerous nieces and nephews in Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and California; and many close friends. The son of the late Wendell Lissimore, Sr., he was born October 28, 1926 in Newport News, Va. Mr. Lissimore was a retired cook for the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., and member of St. John AME Zion Church in Highland Falls, N.Y., where he was also a part of the Male Choir. He is survived by one son, Wendell Joseph Lissimore III and wife, Selma, of New York City, N.Y.; one daughter, Denise Lissimore Rainey and husband, Ronald, of Croton, N.Y.; special granddaughter, Nia Lissimore; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several relatives and many friends. "Mudcat" McConnell of Milford, Pa., owner of Walt's Auto Sales, Port Jervis, and lifelong resident of the area, died Tuesday May 10, 2005 at Newton Memorial Hospital in Newton, N.J. He was 72. He was born October 10, 1932 in Port Jervis, N.Y. A member of the Port Jervis County Club, Walt was an avid golfer. He was a bowler and sponsored several leagues as well as playing and sponsoring softball teams. A graduate of the Matamoras High School, he was a former owner of the West End Tavern and former manager of the Colonial Inn. A family statement reads, "Walt was a great person...all class. He never thought of himself. He would always put everyone else first." Mitchell, Jr. USNR - ret., a longtime Middletown resident, died Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at O.R.M.C., Horton Campus. He was 72 years old. The son of the late Charles F. and Margaret Bauer Mitchell, Charles was born September 17, 1932 in Brooklyn, N.Y. A decorated veteran of U.S. Navy, he proudly served his country. Charles was a member of many organizations including: Veterans of Foreign War, Disabled American Veterans, Marine Corps League, Navy League, Plank owner of the USS Luzon, Boy Scout Order of the Arrow, and Member of the Republican National Committee. Pop was a man who loved his country, his wife of 47 years, his children and his grandchildren. He was a man that embraced life, and had an extended family of kids, including Elisa Turoff Rosenbloom, Dee Durland, Donna Hajduk Zuidema, all his children's friends and the Valentin's. He loved to be in the outdoors, enjoying all of nature. He would lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He left an impression on the community and on the world. He will be missed forever and never forgotten. Camillus was born in New York on March 7, 1923 to Camillus and Mary (Cleary) O'Connell. He was an executive financial adviser for IBM in White Plains. Camillus married Mary Grace Keane on November 30, 1944 in Immaculate Conception Church, Ithaca, N.Y. He had been a New City resident for 22 years, prior Montrose, N.Y. Camillus was a graduate of Cornell University Midshipman School and recieved a BA from Manhattan College in Engineering. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Westchester and a member of the Ecurie Racing Club of Rockland and Harpers Field Historical Society in Harpersfield, N.Y. Camillus was a Lt. Commander in the Seabees and a 15-year veteran of the US Navy and USN Reserves serving during WW II, Korea and Vietnam. Camillus is survived by his wife Mary; sons Michael of New Windsor and Thomas and his wife Mary Ann of Ann Arbor, MI, Brian and his wife Nancy Fremont O'Connell of Astoria, N.Y.; daughters, Dr. Frank and Mary Meyers of Amherst, Ma and Theresa and Chris Reesbeck of Haverstraw.
