Mr. Barone was the widower of Nice Barone, who predeceased him in 1989. He was the son of the late Natale and Giacinta Barone. Mr. Barone was born in Colledimacine, Italy, in the region of Abruzzi. He was predeceased by brothers, Antonio Barone, Giuseppe Barone, Franco Barone, and Mariano Barone; and sisters, Rosa Salvati and Emilia DiGiannantonio. He was also predeceased by a son, Giosafatto Barone; a daughter, Giacinta Barone; and a granddaughter, Margherita Barone. He is survived by sons, Natale Barone and wife, Helen, of Sydney, Australia and Giosafatto A. Barone and wife, Aileen, of Newburgh and daughters, Giuseppina Barone of Philadelphia, Pa. and Giacinta DiDomenicis and husband, Antonio, of Cornwall. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Barone was a veteran of World War II, having served four years in the Italian Royal Army. He was an independent farmer who emigrated to the United States in 1960, residing in Newburgh, N.Y., where he became an American citizen. He was employed as a skilled laborer for the Laborers' International Union of North America, Local 17. He was involved in the construction of several major projects locally, including the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge, Route 17K, Interstate Route 84, the Danskammer power plant, Stewart Airport, the Cadet wing at West Point, St. Luke's Hospital, Mount Saint Mary College, and Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh, N.Y. Mr. Barone was an avid gardener, bocci player, musician and traveler, making annual visits to Italy. A family statement reads: "Ernesto's character can best be exemplified by the lines of A.E. Houseman's poem, "On Wenlock Edge the wood's in trouble:" There, like the wind through woods in riot, Through him the gale of life blew high; The tree of man was never quiet: Then 'twas the Roman, now 'tis I." Funeral services will be held at the Stolfo Funeral Home, 2536 South Broad St., Philadelphia, Pa. on Monday, May 16, 2005 at 8 a.m. Interment will take place on Monday afternoon at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 5468 Route 9W North, Newburgh. Brady, Rosemary Rosemary Brady, a homemaker and 45 year area resident, died Thursday May 12, 2005 at Campbell Hall Rehabilitation Center, Campbell Hall, N.Y. She was 77. The daughter of the late Patrick Melville and Frieda Weissenburger Melville, she was born June 20, 1927 in Bronx, N.Y. Rosemary was a member of Jolly Senior Citizens of Monroe; St. Anastasia Parish Church in Harriman; and the Monroe Chapter of the A.A.R.P. She was a former clerk at Fran's Hallmark, Genovese Drug Store, and Nelson's Department Store in Monroe, N.Y., and was a former dispatcher for Monroe Volunteer Ambulance Corps. She is survived by her son, Daniel Brady of Monroe; her daughter, Nancy Scott of Florida, N.Y.; two brothers, William Melville of Middletown, and Joseph Melville of Haylock, N.C.; one sister, Patricia McGarty of Harriman; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel J. Brady and a son, Roger Brady, who died in 1997. There will be no visitation. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday May 16, 2005 at 10:00 AM in St. Anastasia Shrine Church, 20 North Main St., Harriman, N.Y. Burial will be in St. Anastasia Cemetery in Harriman. Corwin, Loretta Loretta Corwin, of Middletown, a lifelong resident of the area, died Friday May 13, 2005 at Orange Regional Medical Center at Horton in Middletown. She was 82. The daughter of Pasquale and Filomena Cortese, she was born on January 27, 1923 in Middletown. She was the widow of Michael DiRenzo and Wesley Corwin. Mrs. Corwin was a secretary having retired from St. Joseph's School. She was a former Grand Regent of the Catholic Daughters of America and also served as the New York State Chairwoman of the Junior Catholic Daughters of America. She was very devoted to St. Joseph's Church and its parish, and served as the President of the Altar Rosary Society and the Vice President of the Assumption Society. Survivors include her daughter, Diane Van Fleet; her son, Michael DiRenzo and wife, Barbara; her granddaughter, Kim VanFleet; her grandson, Greg VanFleet and wife, Gayle, and their sons, Michael and Matthew; her brother, Nicholas Cortese and wife, Marietta; her sister, Mary VanGelder and husband, Charles; her brother-in-law, Nicholas DiRenzo and wife, Margaret; her brother-in-law, Anthony DiRenzo and wife, Carmen; her sister-in-law, Blanche DiRenzo; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Patrick DiRenzo and her brother Russell Cortese. Mrs. Corwin will always be remembered as a loving mother and wife; a cherished grandmother, and a dear friend to many. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her dearly. Kyer Sr., Bruce A. Bruce A. Kyer Sr., of New City, died on May 11, 2005 in Atlantic City Medical Center. Bruce was born in Fowler, N.Y. on May 8, 1942 to George and Bernice (Thornton) Kyer. He had been a Rockland resident for 42 years. Bruce graduated from Rockland Community College in 1972 with an RN Degree. He worked as a Registered Nurse for Rockland County Psychiatric Center and retired in 1991. Bruce married Eileen Ehrlich in Piermont on August 26, 1966. He loved working with his hands and tools, enjoyed garage sales and collecting tools. Bruce was a member of the American Legion New City Chapter Post 1682. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1959-1963 as an airplane mechanic stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and a member of the West Nyack Senior Citizens Club #2. Bruce enjoyed taking his grandson tractor driving, enjoyed Bingo and Atlantic City. He was a Good Samaritan. Bruce also enjoyed Dunkin Donuts coffee. Bruce is survived by his wife, Eileen and his sons, Michael of New City and Bruce, and wife, Wendy, of Coral Springs, Fla.; his daughter, Brenda and husband, Bob Koza, of Monroe; his sister, Sharon and husband, Tom Mathews, of Potsdam; and his two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Christopher Koza. She was always encouraging and supportive, had a positive outlook on life and never complained. We'll remember her as always smiling and enjoying Bingo." Simmonds of Kerhonkson, N.Y., died Wednesday May 11, 2005. He was 68. Lloyd was born in Kingston, Jamaica on August 30, 1936. He had lived in New York City before moving to Kerhonkson where he had been the manager of Mountain Valley Resort, formerly Peg Leg Bates, for the past 16 years. He had devoted himself to the resort becoming a cornerstone of its success. He is survived by his wife, Doreen Richardson, and leaves behind many dear friends.
