He was born in Italy on August 8, 1942. He served in the Italian military. In 1967, he immigrated to the United States. He established and operated Mario's Landscaping, Inc. He was a member of the Black Rock Fish and Game Club, and loved to go hunting with his two sons. He is predeceased by his parents, Domenico and Anna Alfieri; he is survived by his wife, Stefanina Alfieri; his son Dominic Alfieri, and daughter-in-law Carla Alfieri; his son Giovanni Alfieri, and daughter-in-law Barbara Alfieri; his grandchildren, Mario and Gabriella; his brother John Alfieri, and sister Irene Alfieri. He leaves behind seven nieces and nephews in both Italy and America. He will always remain in our hearts and minds. Auchmoody, a homemaker and lifetime area resident, died Monday, May 16, 2005 in Golden Hill Health Care Facilities in Kingston after a long illness. She was 99. The daughter of the late Cornelius Terwilliger and Cora Mae Benjamin, she was born November 16, 1905 in New Paltz. She was the widow of Floyd Auchmoody Sr. He died in 1971. Survivors include one grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Floyd Auchmoody Jr.; son, Donald Auchmoody; four sisters; and four brothers. There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. May 18 at New Paltz Rural Cemetery. The Rev. David Mantz will officiate. Burial will follow in the cemetery. Brunning, Louise Hawkins Louise Hawkins Brunning, a lifelong area resident, died Sunday, May 15, 2005. She was 93. The daughter of the late Albert T. Hawkins and Marie Schmid Hawkins, she was born December 13, 1911 in Mountaindale, N.Y. She was a 1930 Middletown High School graduate and a 1933 New Paltz College graduate. She was a retired teacher at Minisink Valley Elementary School, former treasurer of the Middletown area Retired Teachers Association and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She was a member of the Denton Presbyterian Church, a Sunday School Teacher and past Secretary-Treasurer of United Presbyterian Women. She served as a secretary of the Bloomingburg Grange #1197, the Orange-Sullivan Pomona Grange #8 and secretary of the Shawangunk Mountain VFW Auxiliary, a position she held for more than 20 years. She was an active member of the Senior Citizens Association of Slate Hill called, "The Pacers." Proceeded by her husband Bennie Augustus Brunning and her son Brian Richard, brothers, James M. Hawkins, Albert N. Hawkins, Joseph F. Hawkins, Forrest J. Hawkins, William S. Hawkins, Robert Elroy Hawkins, Andrew V. Hawkins and sisters Eva C. Hawkins, and Emma I. DuVall. He was 77. The son of the late Lucien and Lillian O'dell Cedras, he was born November 7, 1927 in Philadelphia, Pa. and was the husband of June Cedras. He was a member of Local 906 United Auto Workers Union and an avid bowler. Jackson, a longtime area resident, died unexpectedly on Sunday, May 15, 2005 at Bon Secours Hospital in Port Jervis. She was 74 years old. The daughter of the late Cornelius and Kathryn Fields Flaherty, she was born on October 30, 1930 in Queens Village, Queens, N.Y. Kathleen, along with her husband Robert, owned and operated the Highlander Bar and Grill in upstate NY. An avid BINGO player, she enjoyed waiting for the last number to be called. A family statement reads: "We will always remember our mother as kind-hearted and generous who above all else loved her family. She was open and friendly to everyone. A survivor of many losses, she greatly missed her loved ones who have passed before her." She is survived by three sons, Brian T. Jackson and his wife, Rose of Miller Place, Robert N. Liuni, a homemaker and resident of the area for many years, died Saturday, May 14, 2005 peacefully at her daughter's home in Marlboro surrounded by family and friends. She was 87. The daughter of the late John Vetrano and Mary Noble Vetrano, she was born January 20, 1918 in Queens. She married Michael P. Liuni on October 22, 1942 in St.Louis, Mo. He died Feb. 20, 1994. She was formerly of Rosendale and was a member of St. Joseph's Church in New Paltz and New Paltz/Gardiner Senior Citizens. She was a foster care provider for 10 years. A family statement reads: Mary showed her uniqueness through ceramic work. She leaves us with many happy memories and her signature blessing, "Gods Love and Mine." Mrs. McNamara was a volunteer at the Middletown Soup Kitchen as well as having volunteered with the PTA while her children were growing up. O'Neill McCarthy, she was born in Binghamton, N.Y. on June 24, 1933. She married Joseph Petrillo, Sr. on July 9, 1955 in Immaculate Conception Church, Ithaca, N.Y., who survives at home. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. Patricia was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Newburgh; a member of St. Mary's Seniors; and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas - Court Patricia. She was involved with the Newburgh Women's Bowling Association, where she was a member of the Hall of Fame. In addition to her husband, Patricia is survived by her son, Paul James Petrillo of Newburgh; her son-in-law, Joseph Irish; her daughter, Kathleen Petrillo and her husband, James Bair III of Brooklyn; her brother, James H. Prince, of Harris, died at home on Tuesday May 10, 2005. He was 79. Ralph was born in Harris on October 25, 1925 to the late Clarence A. and Margaret T. Thomas Prince. He was the widower of Mary O'Dowd who died on May 14, 2002. Ralph was a retired installer for the New York Telephone Co. in Monticello, and was a World War II Navy Veteran, a Member of the Telephone Pioneers of America-Kingston Chapter, Hagen Hunting Club, and very active in the Liberty Lodge #521 Free and Accepted Masons Liberty. He was the recipient of the Masonic Distinguished Service Award in 2003. Ralph is survived by 2 brothers James Prince and his wife Mary of Canandaigua, and George Prince and his wife Joan of Florence, S.C.; 2 nephews Edward Rock and James Prince, and 2 nieces Anne M. He was 54. Son of the late Rudolf and Anna Hoesl Schade, he was born on July 26, 1950 in Cornwall. He married Cathleen Cawein on July 17, 1976 in Maybrook, N.Y., who survives at home. A family statement reads: "Ron was a beloved husband, father, brother and friend who will be truly missed and loved." Ron proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1968 to 1976. Son of the late Arthur and Evelyn Taylor, he was born June 9, 1922 in Gloucester, N.J. Mr. Taylor was a decorated veteran serving in the US Army during WW II in the Pacific and Europe. He was a former member of Duffers at the Powelton Club in Newburgh. Survivors include his wife, Mildred, at home; two sons, Damon Taylor Jr. and David Taylor, both of Newburgh; a brother, William Taylor and his wife Margaret; two sisters, Evelyn Williams and Edith Benner and her husband Wayne; sister-in-law, Gertrude Taylor; his granddaughter, Dana Cabrera; and several nieces and nephews.
