Richard Andrew Anderson, 51, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Tuesday May 24, 2005 at Southwest Florida Regional Medical Center, Fort Myers, Fla. He was born June 20, 1953 in West Point, N.Y. and moved to Port Charlotte three years ago from Highland Falls. He was a retired project manager for a construction company and was Past President, County Coordinator and Past Chief for the Highland Falls Volunteer Fire Department. He was a Catholic. He is survived by his loving wife, Betsy Marie Anderson of Port Charlotte; a daughter, Emily Marie Anderson of Port Charlotte; his parents, Robert and Barbara Anderson of Highland Falls; two sisters, Patricia (Paul) Clement of Austin, Texas and Susan (Dana) Fortino of Highland Falls; two nieces, Kaitlyn Clement and Alyssa Fortino; and a nephew, Robert Fortino. Banker, Walburga Walburga Banker, 77, of Shinhopple, N.Y., died Sunday May 22, 2005 at Delaware Valley Hospital, Walton, N.Y. Wally and her husband, Arnold, were the owners of of Peaceful Valley Campground in Downsville, N.Y. Arnold predeceased her on March 29, 1997. Wally was a member of C.O.N.Y. (Campground Owner of N.Y.), I.B.M.A. (International Bluegrass Music Association), and Holy Family Catholic Church in Downsville. Four sons survive: Glenn Banker of East Branch, Louis Banker, Carl Banker and Arnold Banker, all of Downsville; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews survive. She is also survived by ten brothers and sisters living in Germany, and her step-mother. Three brothers predeceased her. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday May 24, 2005 from 5-9 PM at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel in Hancock, N.Y. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, Downsville, on Wednesday May 25, 2005 at 12:00 noon with Father Michael Flannery officiating. Byington, of Walden, a retired self-employed distributor for Pepperidge Farm Bread Co. for over 30 years and a lifetime resident of the area, died Monday, May 23, 2005 in New York surrounded by his family. He was 75. The son of the late Harold Byington he was born November 4, 1929 in Kingston, N.Y. George had been a member of the former Walden Fife and Drum Corps. Survivors include his beloved wife Judy Palamidas Byington at home. He was a dedicated father to Patty Taegder and her husband Greg of Montgomery and his son, Bob Byington and his wife Jennifer of Basking Ridge, N.J. He is also survived by his adoring granddaughters, Lauren Taegder and Caitlin and Carolyn Byington. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. George had a special place in his heart for his best friend Bob Jarvis. He also held a special bond with Ralph Estrada Jr. Above all, our "Poppie" loved spending time with his wife and family. He enjoyed vacationing, especially in Bermuda, going out to dinner, Tuesdays and Thursdays with Bob, and taking care of Lady. He took great pride in himself, his home, his yard and growing roses. Poppie, you will always and forever be missed and loved, but you will go on in our hearts and memories forever. Finger Jr., William H. William H. Finger Jr., a lifetime resident of the area and clerk for Grand Union in Goshen, died Sunday, May 22, 2005 at home. He was 68. The son of William H. Finger Sr. and Emma Leinweber Finger, he was born July 3, 1936 in Goshen. He was a member of Local 1262. Survivors include his wife Maureen Lonsiac Finger at home; three stepsons, Clarence Eckerson of Brooklyn, Mark G. Eckerson and his fianc‚e Jessica Gilmour of Goshen, Gary S. Eckerson of Cleveland, Ohio; sister, Carol Korth of Goshen; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Marilyn Lazier. There will be no visitation. Hoyt, age 83, of Marathon, N.Y. and formerly of Wallkill, died of heart failure May 23, 2005 at Cortland Memorial Hospital, Cortland, N.Y. Born September 26, 1921 in the Bronx, she was the daughter of the late Erwin and Edna Bramer Schleicher. She was a member of St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church in Marathon, N.Y. She is survived by her husband, Freeman M. Hoyt, at home, whom she married on June 5, 1944 in the Bronx; two sons, Jeffrey and his wife, Jamie, of Clintondale, N.Y., and Gary and his wife, Kathleen, of Marathon, N.Y.; three daughters: Mary Yablonsky and her husband, John, of Newburgh, Bonnie Osborg and her husband, Carl, of Wallkill, and Kathleen Streisfeld and her husband, Harvey, of Gardiner; one sister, Doris Schleicher of Raleigh, N.C.; one cousin, Gloria Brunn and her husband, Fred, of Sparta, N.J.; twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many neices and nephews. The daughter of the late Henry and Anna Maria Knophful Gatterdum and the granddaughter of the late Katherine Gatterdum who died December 9, 1943, she was born March 26, 1916 in Brooklyn. Survivors include nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Gatterdum and sister, Beatrice Davidson. There will be no visitation. She was born on July 23, 1917 in Brooklyn to the late James and Olympia DiFilippis. Grace was the widow of James Kahaley who predeceased her in 1980. She was an active member with the A.H.R.C. and a member of the Cornwall Seniors. She is survived by her beloved son, Robert Kahaley of Monroe, N.Y., several nieces and nephews, many cousins and friends. Krom, a resident of Stone Ridge, N.Y. and winter resident of Ocklawaha, Fla., died Sat. May 21, 2005 at Summerfield Suites Hospice. She was 76. She retired after 34 years as a teacher and guidance counselor for Rondout Valley Central School District. She was born in Deerpark, N.Y. and was a winter resident of Florida since 1985, legal resident of Stone Ridge, N.Y. She was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Candler, Fla., the NY State Retired Teachers Assoc. and a life-member of the Rondout Valley Teachers Assoc. She also served as secretary and treasurer for the Rondout Valley Guidance Assoc. Survivors include sons, William E. Krom Jr. of Stone Ridge and Russell G. Kutzler, of Port Jervis, a retired plumber and longtime resident of the area, died Monday, May 23, 2005 in Montague, N.J. He was 83. He was born October 31, 1921 in Phillipsburg, N.J. He was the widower of Helena Pritchitt Kutzler who died May 22, 1996. An Army Veteran of WW II, he was a member of the Roosa-Fleming VFW Post No 161, Port Jervis. Lloyd, Dollie Mae Williams Dollie Mae Williams Lloyd, a retired machinist for Tuck Tape Factory, Beacon, died Saturday, May 21, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie. She was 84. The daughter of the late Charlie Foster Lyles and Elma Davis, she was born February 21, 1921 in Americus, Ga. She was one of the founding members of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Wappingers Falls, and was part of their senior choir and member of the Missionaries. Survivors include three sons, Ronald Williams of Fishkill, Bennie Williams of Hyde Park and Charles L. Williams of Poughkeepsie; one daughter, Mamie R. Smith of Beacon; one sister, Minnie Lee Green of Hartford, Conn.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, many relatives and friends. She was predeceased by husband Ulyses Williams; two sons, Richard Lee Williams and Eugene Williams; five brothers, Charlie Seaboat, Solomon, John Benjamin, Richard Lee and Eddie Lee Lyles; three sisters, Bertha Mae Roach, Everleaner Smith and Fannie Mae Hawkins. Misar, Alma Davis Alma Davis Misar, of Tyler Hill, Pa., a housewife and longtime resident of the area, died Saturday, May 21, 2005 at the Brighton at Julia Ribaudo Nursing Home in Lake Ariel, Pa. She was 96. The daughter of the late John H. and Julia Rutledge Davis, she was born November 16, 1908 in Milanville, Pa. She was the widow of George Misar. A family statement reads, "She was a beloved sister, aunt and cousin. She will be greatly missed." Survivors include one brother, Orson Davis Sr. of Barryville; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Nora Davis, Florence Smith and Marian Noble; and nine brothers Charles, Russell, Frank, Wilson, John, Ezra, Harold, Vernon and Alfred Davis. Plain Jr., of Seabrook Village, Tinton Falls, formerly of Brielle, died Sunday, May 22, 2005 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, of natural causes. He was born February 13, 1917 in Jersey City. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Catherine M. Reilly Plain. He was the son of George F. and Eva L. Plain of East Orange, and the brother of Mary L. Mackie of Columbus, Ohio. His brother, John Plain of Sacramento, Calif., survives him. He was a 1939 graduate of the University of Notr‚ Dame and served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World War II. His career in manufacturing began at Celluplastics, Newark. Before retiring from a long career in the plastics industry, he was the product manager of Farris Universal, a division of Farris Engineering, Englewood. George was a devoted husband and a caring father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Surviving are his children, Susan Meehan and her husband Philip of East Stroudsburg, Pa., Robert Plain and his wife Colette of Greensboro, N.C., Stephen Plain and his wife, Maureen of Middletown, N.Y., and Lisa vanBrug and her husband Cory of Allenwood. There are 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who will miss the guidance of Gran-daddy. The son of the late Irving B. Schoudel and Dorothy A. Gilfeather, he was born June 9, 1929 in Highland Falls, N.Y. Mr. Schoudel graduated from Highland Falls Highland School and attended "Art Career School" in New York City. He was a paratrooper with the 187 Regimental Combat Team in Korea from 1951-1953. He joined IBM as a draftsman in 1953 and retired in 1987. An avid outdoorsman, hiker and artist, he was a member of American Legion, the Sierra Club and the Adirondack Mountain Club. He was the widower of Evelyn Schoudel, and was also predeceased by a brother, Father Cristen. He is survived by his sister, Audrey Bill from Virginia; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dottie and Nick Magliato of Highland; and several nieces and nephews.
