He was 73. Born on August 1, 1932 in Queens, he was the son of Michael Cronin and Mary Kiely Cronin. He was a member of the Church of the Infant Saviour in Pine Bush, a former member of the Knights of Columbus, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. John was the widower of Geraldine Cronin who died on January 10, 2000. A family statement reads: "Thanks to all the friends and family of John and a special thanks to all the staff at Castle Point Veterans Hospital." Survivors include: five beloved children: Michael J. Cronin of Pine Bush, J.J. Cronin of Pine Bush, Edward J. Cronin of Pine Bush, Kathleen Hattenbrun and husband, David, of Tillson, N.Y., and Oliver B. Cronin of Pine Bush; two grandchildren: Michele Cronin and Kevin Cronin; and a brother, Richard Cronin of California. She was 90. The daughter of Carlo Mula and Maria Rosa Dagostino Muia, she was born November 11, 1914 in Siderno Marina, Calabria, Italy. She was the widow of Frank Antonio Gerasolo. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Goshen. Survivors include her son Joseph Gerasolo and wife Elizabeth Jean of Goshen; daughter Rosemarie Gerasolo of Goshen; sister Guiseppina Zappia of Siderno Marina, Calabria Italy; granddaughter, Britt Elizabeth Taylor; several nieces and nephews. Godby, Adelaide Adelaide Godby, a homemaker, who lived on Heaters Hill, Matamoras for more than 40 years, died October 14, 2005 at Gainesville, Fla. She was 98. The daughter of the late James and Ida Mae Holmes Bidmead, she was born October 24, 1906 in Ashbrook, N.J. She was the widow of Harold Godby. A family statement reads, "Adelaide enjoyed having a garden and watching the wildlife that surrounded her." Heller, the former owner of the Florida Pharmacy for more than 50 years, and a long-time resident of the area, died Tuesday, November 1, 2005 in Goshen at the Elant Facility. He was 86. The son of the late Bernard and Rose Goldberg Heller, Martin was born on December 28, 1918 in New Jersey. Martin was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II in England. He was an avid golfer. He is survived by his sons: Edward and his wife, Patti, of Somers, N.Y., Donald and his wife, Maureen, of West Nyack, N.Y. and Kenneth and his wife, Coby, of Westford, Mass.; five grandchildren: Jeffrey, Zoe, Brad, Scott and Sam; and several nieces and nephews. Thoby, Arthur "Dave" Arthur "Dave" Thoby, a retired chemical dependence counselor with 20 years of service to the New York State Correction Department, a life-long Newburgh area resident, died peacefully at the home of his son in South Carolina. He was 67. The son of Robert Thoby and the late Mildred Hoyt Thoby, he was born on December 8, 1937 in Newburgh. He was the husband of Marilyn Reiff Thoby. Dave was very involved in the Twelve Step Program and helped many people. He was always willing to share his knowledge. Dave and his wife, Marilyn, opened Hickory Hill Halfway House, in Newburgh, in 1983 and helped over two hundred women with recovery from drug and alcohol dependency. He also was an avid outdoorsman, motorcycle and snowmobiling enthusiast, passionate about motor home travel, and NASCAR. Patricia was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was very compassionate, generous and caring. She was very dedicated to her family.
