Bloomer, a lifelong resident of the area, entered into rest on Friday, November 11, 2005 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus. He was 72. Son of the late Roland and Gertrude Mansfield Bloomer, he was born August 14, 1933 in Newburgh. He married Angelina Giordano Bloomer on April 15, 1956, at Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh. She survives him at home. A family statement reads: "Roland was a devoted husband and family man who obtained immense pride in spending time with what he cherished most, being the cornerstone for his beloved family. Throughout his life his greatest pleasure was not for himself, but serving the needs of his family and friends. For those of us whose path he crossed, his gentle, kind nature, remarkable wit, and unselfish love will be truly missed." Roland was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Newburgh. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy, and graduated from the Naval Aviation Electrician School in Jacksonville, Fla. He was President of Angie Clothing Company, a garment manufacturing facility; a Safety Officer for Profex, Inc.; and a member of Painters Local 155. The youngest of six sons of the late Ben and Lucille Glass Robinson, he was born March 19, 1934 in Birmingham, Ala. Jesse enjoyed the ocean, fishing, spending time with his family and home cooking. He loved to travel. Most of all, he enjoyed helping others. He was a retired truck driver and entrepreneur. In a family statement, "He was loveable and a great provider. He enjoyed making people laugh. He will be missed by all who knew him."
