The son of the late Guy J. and Mary Bablock Bartle, he was born February 29, 1924 in Pittsfield, N.Y. A graduate of Montgomery High School and Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Bartle had a dairy veterinary practice for 45 years in Orange County. He was also an avid fisherman and belonged to the Wanaksink Lake Club. Dr. Bartle had served on the Montgomery High School Board of Education and was a member of St. Mary's Parish, Montgomery. Gordon Beck "Skip" of Salisbury Mills, N.Y. died after a long illness on November 14, 2005 at his home. He was 71. Born on December 19, 1933 in Newark, N.J. to the late Clarence and Helen Beck. He grew up in Rockland County and graduated Nyack High School, then went on to serve in the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War. After the war, Skip married Anne Schoeninger on April 2, 1960 in North Attleboro, Mass. Skip was a master electrician, learning the trade at an early age. Survivors include his devoted wife, Anne, at home, loving children Karl of Chester and Karen of Middletown, and a dear sister, Joyce Kuhn of Oneonta, N.Y. Castonguay, Sister Marie Lucille Sister Marie Lucille Castonguay of the Little Sisters of the Assumption of Walden, N.Y., a longtime resident of the area died Tuesday, November 15, 2005 in Newburgh. She was 86. The daughter of the late Joseph and Clara Sabourin Castonguay, she was born April 15, 1919 in Ontario, Canada. Sister entered the Little Sisters in 1939 in Montreal, Canada and came to the United States in 1941. She spent most of her religious life in Walden though she served also in New York City, Philadelphia, and Dorchester, Worcester and Charlestown, Mass. Sister Marie was also a licensed practical nurse and served in home care. Survivors include her brother, Roger Castonguay, her sister, Sr. Laure Castonguay AMJM, and nephew, Jocelyn Castonguay all of Montreal, Canada. Visitation will be Thursday, November 17 from 7-9 p.m. at The Little Sisters of the Assumption, 98 Gladstone Ave., Walden. Joseph Michael DeNuzzia, Sr. of Circleville, N.Y., a retired Assistant Vice President of Operations for Chemical Bank at Rockefeller Center, and long-time resident of the area, died November 9, 2005 at Exeter Healthcare, Exeter, N.H. He was 72 years old. The son of the late Michael and Anna Rose DeNuzzia, he was born December 11, 1932 in Brooklyn, N.Y. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, and was a lifetime member of the American Legion. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and St. Mary's R.C. Church. He helped establish, and coached, the Monroe Pop Warner Football League as well as the Monroe Girls' Softball League. He was well-known as an outstanding pitcher in the men's softball league, both in New York City and Orange County. He volunteered at St. Vincent's and St. Patrick's Villa. She was born on October 12, 1951 in Buffalo, N.Y. She is survived by her loving husband Vince of 32 years; her parents, LaVerne and Carol Myers of St. Petersburg, Fla.; brother Thomas Myers and his wife Mary; sister, Mary K. Star and her husband Jim; nieces, Erika Myers, Katherine, Lauren and Elizabeth Star, all of Rochester, N.Y.; mother-in-law, Florence Mazzie of Newburgh; brother-in-law, Ralph Mazzie and his wife Renee of Newburgh. She was predeceased by her father-in-law, Ralph Mazzie. Sandie earned a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from SUNY Brockport, a Master's of Arts from the School of Education, Health, Nursing and Arts Professions, New York University, and had earned credits towards her doctorate at Columbia University. Her career history includes the Director of Patient Care at St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; Vice President of Patient Care Services at St. Luke's Hospital, Newburgh; President of Sandra A. Mazzie & Associates - a health care consulting company; and a Patient Care Executive Consultant with APM Management Consultants - a national firm specializing in hospital restructuring. Recently she was Director of Special Projects and a member of the Executive Team at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. Her professional achievements are numerous and include being named to "Who's Who in American Nursing" and Marquis "Who's Who in the East." She also served as Vice President of the NYS Nurses Association and received advanced certification in nursing administration from the American Nurses Association. She was a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, the Powelton Club, and was past member of the board of directors of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce and the Holden Home. Sandie was an avid gardener and loved "getting her hands in the dirt." She was a member of the Garden Club of Orange and Dutchess Counties and served as its finance committee chair. She had a wonderful life with Vince, sharing many good friends. She looked forward to her family gatherings in Bolton Landing and Christmas in Newburgh. Sandie especially cherished the time with her nieces and Godchildren and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Art's passions included gardening, reading, bird watching, and most of all laughing with others. Trifilo, Penelope "Penny" Penelope "Penny" Trifilo, 93, of Beacon died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005 at Wingate at St. Francis following a long illness. She was born November 15, 1912 in Beacon and was a life-long resident. She was the daughter of the late Costa and Anna Marie Sara Cristo. Mrs. Trifilo had owned and operated Trifilo's Market in Beacon with her husband until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. John's - St. Joachim's Roman Catholic Church in Beacon. In 1934, she married her husband, Frank Trifilo in Newburgh and they have been married for over 70 years. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Samuel Trifilo of Wappingers Falls, N.Y. and Eugene Trifilo of Glenham, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Frank Trifilo, Eugene Trifilo Jr., Mark Trifilo, Timothy Trifilo, Lisa Reno, Deanna Argenio and Adria Trifilo; 11 great-grandchildren also survive. Youngs, Charles M. Charles M. Youngs, a retired farmer and former owner of Shawangunk Valley Horse Farm and lifetime resident of the area, died November 8, 2005 in Moore Haven, Fla. He was 80. The son of Hanford Youngs and Lillian Lawrence Youngs, he was born September 9, 1925 in Pine Bush. He was a member of the New Prospect Reformed Church, Christian Church of Moore Haven, former councilman for the town of Shawangunk. He was a veteran of WW II, serving in the Merchant Marines. Survivors include his beloved grandchildren, Eric Palazolo of Moore Haven, Fla., Michele Palazolo of Connecticut and Charlene Palazolo of Pine Bush; two loving nephews, Kevin M. Youngs of Pine Bush and Roger Youngs of Tampa, Fla. He was predeceased by his wife Marion Mirring Youngs; a son, Ernie Youngs, a daughter, Carol Youngs, and three brothers, Kenneth M.
