She was 79. The daughter of the late Deacon Sammy and Ella Middleton Green, she was born on July 23, 1926 in Oakley, S.C. She was the widow of George Harris. Survivors include her grandchildren, Rochelle Green, Irfan Green and Atiya Lewis all of Middletown; her great-grandchildren, Cameron Green and MaKayla Ortiz both of Middletown; and her sister, Estella Featherston of Brooklyn. She was predeceased by her daughter, Paula Lynn Green. Visitation hours will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, November 18 at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc., 72 West Main Street in Middletown. Walter Kilpatrick, of Florida, entered into rest on February 15, 2005 in Lake City, Florida. He was 86. Son of the late William and Elizabeth Simpson Kilpatrick, he was born on November 5, 1918 in Newburgh. Walt lived on South St while he lived in Newburgh, and was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church. Walt loved to work on gardens and was very good at it. He loved his mother so much, whenever he had a special flower or plant, he made sure he gave it to his mom. When he married, he moved to Connecticut and worked for Pratt Whitney working with planes until serving his country during World War II in Germany. He is survived by his wife, Emily Frederick Kilpatrick of Florida; four children: Jean, David, Larry and Ken; his brother, Edwin Kilpatrick; and his sister, Helen Hengst. Mazzie, Sandra Anne "Sandie" Sandra Anne "Sandie" Mazzie, of Newburgh, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2005 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie at the age of 54. She was born on October 12, 1951 in Buffalo, N.Y. She is survived by her loving husband Vince of 32 years; her parents, LaVerne and Carol Myers of St. Petersburg, Fla.; brother Thomas Myers and his wife Mary; sister, Mary K. Star and her husband Jim; nieces, Erika Myers, Katherine, Lauren and Elizabeth Star, all of Rochester, N.Y.; mother-in-law, Florence Mazzie of Newburgh; brother-in-law, Ralph Mazzie and his wife Renee of Newburgh. She was predeceased by her father-in-law, Ralph Mazzie. Sandie earned a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from SUNY Brockport, a Master's of Arts from the School of Education, Health, Nursing and Arts Professions, New York University, and had earned credits towards her doctorate at Columbia University. Her career history includes the Director of Patient Care at St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; Vice President of Patient Care Services at St. Luke's Hospital, Newburgh; President of Sandra A. Mazzie & Associates - a health care consulting company; and a Patient Care Executive Consultant with APM Management Consultants - a national firm specializing in hospital restructuring. Recently she was Director of Special Projects and a member of the Executive Team at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. Her professional achievements are numerous and include being named to "Who's Who in American Nursing" and Marquis "Who's Who in the East." She also served as Vice President of the NYS Nurses Association and received advanced certification in nursing administration from the American Nurses Association. She was a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, the Powelton Club, and was past member of the board of directors of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce and the Holden Home. Sandie was an avid gardener and loved "getting her hands in the dirt." She was a member of the Garden Club of Orange and Dutchess Counties and served as its finance committee chair. She had a wonderful life with Vince, sharing many good friends. She looked forward to her family gatherings in Bolton Landing and Christmas in Newburgh. Sandie especially cherished the time with her nieces and Godchildren and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16 at Brooks-DiDonato Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh. McNamara, Arthur "Art" Art McNamara, 52, of Brooklyn and Mountain Dale, N.Y., passed away on Friday, October 21, 2005 from cancer. Born in Little Neck, Queens on November 16, 1952, he was the son of Thomas F. and Gertrude Michaelman McNamara. Art's passions included gardening, reading, bird watching, and most of all laughing with others. Art was the beloved husband and best friend of Beth Knowlton; well-loved brother of Clare Majorrossy, Eleanor, George, Thomas McNamara, and the late Ann Nelson. He is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews. Per his request, a private memorial service will take place in the spring. He was 68. Born in Beacon on April 19, 1937, he was the son of the late Walter J. and Estelle Morgan Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell attended St. John's School, Beacon, and Beacon High School. He proudly served his country in the US Army, serving in the Motor Pool for three years, the Reserves for three years, and the National Guard for one year. He was employed as a Nurse's Assistant at Franklin D. Roosevelt VA Hospital, Montrose, for 16 years and as a computer operator at Fishkill National Bank, Beacon, for two years and two years at Lincoln Savings Bank, Brooklyn. He retired from St. Luke's Hospital, Newburgh, in May 2004 after 15 years of service as the Charge Officer in the Security Department. He was a member of Hebron Masonic Lodge, Beacon, and a parishioner of St. Joachim-St. John the Evangelist Church, Beacon. He is survived by his fianc‚e and longtime companion, MaryAnn Minard, New Windsor; his daughter, LaConia Mitchell Lamar and her husband, Theodis, Beacon; his son, Walter J. Allen, Queens; his sister Vida Mitchell, Beacon; six granddaughters, Ashley, Nakio, DeYanna, Desiree, Dominique and DaVonia, all of Beacon; a grandson and granddaughter, Walter J. Allen Jr. and Tifaney Allen, Michigan; a nephew, Curtis J. Mitchell, California; a grandnephew, Curtis J. Mitchell Jr., Florida; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Quinlan of Warwick died on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at the Schervier Pavilion, Warwick. He was 85 years old. Born on August 13, 1920 in New York City, he was the son of Charles J. and Grace Brown Quinlan. He was married to the late Natalie Guerin Quinlan. Mr. Quinlan served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was the Development Director with Brown University and worked at Quinlan Associates Real Estate Agency in Worcester, Mass. Mr. Quinlan is survived by a sister, Grace Janes; three nieces: Nancy Portomene and her husband Manny, Wendy Muenz and her husband Tom and Lynn Earle; great niece, Amy Earle. He was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Deborah Taylor and a brother, William Quinlan. Graveside services will be held at the Rural Cemetery in Worcester, Mass. Root Jr., a retired carpenter for Hotel Thayer in West Point and 35-year area resident, died Sunday, November 13, 2005 at Elant at Newburgh. He was 78. The son of the late Clifford E. Root Sr. and Florence Bickford Root, he was born July 13, 1927 in Portsmouth, N.H. He was a veteran of the US Navy during WW II; member of the Highland Falls Marina; life-member of the National VFW at Large; member of the Local #17, Newburgh. A family statement reads, "Although in the Navy, Cliff traveled the world, he discovered, fell in love with and settled in the Hudson Valley. For the last 35 years of his life, Cliff sailed the Hudson. Regardless of age, all who met Cliff were drawn in by his love of life. Although it breaks our hearts to lose him, our lives will be better for loving him. Don't cry because he is gone, laugh because he lived." Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Stella C. Cavaliere Root of Highland Falls; two daughters, Cynthia S. Root of Highland Falls, Kathryn Ray and husband Jerry of Wake Forest, N.C.; brother, Donald Root, of Ellsworth, Maine; two sisters, Sherry Kelly of Ellsworth, Maine and Joanne Wheeler and husband Charles of Hancock, Maine; three grandchildren, Paige, Briana and Anthony Ray; and several nieces and nephews. Titolo, Elda Marcolina Elda Marcolina Titolo, a resident of Highland Falls for most of her life, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, November 15, 2005. She was 83. She was born April 4, 1922 to Angelo and Maria Rosa Marcolina and raised in Fornasate, Italy, a small and picturesque northeast village. Elda arrived in the United States as a teenager along with family members and eventually settled in Highland Falls. At the age of 35, Elda returned to Italy and on June 29, 1957 married her predeceased husband, Leo A. Titolo in Padua, Italy. Elda retired from the United States Military Academy, West Point, N.Y. after 30 years of service as a seamstress. A family statement reads: "Mom, you departed too soon and too suddenly. We will continue to love you and think of you every day as we always have." Survivors include sons: James Anthony Titolo and his wife, Kim of Highland Falls, John Leo Titolo and wife Barbara, of Kinnelon, N.J.; grandchildren: James Anthony, Leo Ottavio, John Henry and Julia Jeanne Titolo; many nieces and nephews; and many, many friends. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 19 at 12:30 p.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 353 Main Street, Highland Falls. Preceeding the Mass, there will be visitation at William F.
