She was 62 years old. The daughter of the late Michael Matthew and Margaret Bannon Degen, she was born February 18, 1943 in Queens, N.Y. Rosemary was an avid reader and loved to learn. She volunteered much of her time at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. She was a devoted friend to all that knew her, as well as an amazing grandma to her two grandchildren. She will be forever remembered and missed by all who loved her. Rosemary is survived by her loving daughter, Shannon Walton and her husband, Adam, of Hopewell Junction; two beloved grandchildren, Connor Michael and Kyla Joyce Walton; one brother, Michael F. Roche Eileen B. Roche Clarke of Tuxedo and Yonkers, N.Y., died Friday, November 25, 2005 at the age of 30. She was born on February 21, 1975 to John and Maura (Fenton) Roche in Yonkers, where she was raised. She attended Sacred Heart Grade and High Schools; received her B.S. in Pre-Law from SUNY Binghamton, and her Law Degree from the University of Connecticut. Eileen was an attorney for the Molod-Spitz-DeSantis Law Firm in New York City. On August 20, 2004, she married William Clarke in Sacred Heart Church. He survives her in Yonkers. In addition to her husband and parents, John and Maura, she is survived by her brother, Sean Roche of Montrose; three sisters: Maura Ellen Roche of Yonkers, Siobhan Roche of Manhattan, and Deidre Sherry of Yonkers; her nephew, John and niece, Maille. Conroy, Robyn Suzanne Robyn Suzanne Conroy, a resident of New Paltz and retail clerk at My Market in New Paltz, died November 22, 2005 in New Paltz, N.Y. She was 29. The daughter of Edward W. Conroy III and Alice McClain, she was born July 11, 1976 in Newburgh, N.Y. Robyn adored Betty Boop and also loved The Three Stooges. One of her greatest pleasures was listening to the music of the Moody Blues. She is survived by her father, Edward W. Conroy III of Newburgh; her mother, Alice McClain of New Paltz; stepmother, Margaret H. Greiner of Newburgh, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2005 at home. He was 74. Son of the late Charles A. and Ada Smith Greiner, he was born March 23, 1931 in Newburgh. He was married to Lilo Auer Greiner, who survives at home. A family statement reads: "David was a true farmer and loved nature. He was a good family man and was always willing to help his neighbors." David was a member of the Elks Club, Rifton Sportsman Club, Balmville Grange, the Farm Bureau, and the New York State Horticultural Society. In addition to his loving wife of 50 years, he is survived by his sons, Eric Greiner and Mark Greiner, both of Newburgh; his daughters, Maurine Learner of Davis, Calif., Ingrid Chocklos of Leeland, N.C., and Lynn Perrone of Highland; his brother, George Greiner of Marlboro; his sisters, Florence Tuthill, Gladys Cromie and Marion Malcom, all of Newburgh, Lois Hepworth of Milton, and Jean Betters of Severon, Md.; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many great friends. Mackenzie of Kerhonkson, died suddenly Wednesday, November 23, 2005. He was 34. Sean was born on February 21, 1971 in Englewood, N.J. to Don and Frances (Cielo) Mackenzie. Mr. Mackenzie was a Fleet Mechanic for Arthur F. Mulligan/GJM Transportation in Tillson, N.Y. for 18 years. He was an avid four-wheeler racer. He was most proud of his 2nd and 5th place finishes at the ENYSC Dirt Track, District 3. A family quote reads: "He always came to help or just fix things for us. He turned our frowns into smiles. He brought warmth into our hearts. We will always remember the cool breeze." Marshall of Walker Valley, a longtime resident of the area, passed on to be with our Lord Savior and the people she was really missing on November 23, 2005 after a long illness. The daughter of the late Leslie L. and Elsie Vivian Long, she was born November 4, 1922 in Boston, Mass. She was the widow of Francis H. Marshall. Dorothy is survived by two sons, Harold F. Marshall, Jr. and Leslie G. Marshall of Walker Valley; and four daughters: Ruth L.L. Powers and Marilyn L. Marshall of Walker Valley, and Annmarie Heath and Gloria J. Rivera of South Carolina; as well as her daughter-in-law, Vickie J. Marshall of Ellenville. Dorothy is also survived by her sister, Ruth L. She was 82. The daughter of Francesco Bologna and Antoinette Barbutto, she was born August 9, 1923 in Brooklyn, N.Y. A former resident of Ardonia, Marie was a member of St. Augustine R.C. Church in Highland. She married the love of her life, William W. Palmateer on November 18, 1946 in Brooklyn, N.Y. He predeceased her November 13, 1992. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed by all. Petras Sr., Francis Francis Petras, Sr., an eight-year resident of the area, died Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at Park Manor Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. He was 79 years old. The son of the late Constantine and Mary Langer Petras, Francis was born September 10, 1926 in Nyack, N.Y. A veteran of the United States Army, he proudly served his country. A family statement reads: "Francis loved to travel, especially to Cape Cod. A pastime that he enjoyed was watching baseball games. The New York Mets was his favorite team. Of all the joys in his life, his two grandsons were most treasured." She was 80. Frieda was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on February 22, 1925, the daughter of the late Morris and Becky Horowitz. Frieda was a longtime member of Congregation Ohave Sholom in Woodridge. She was the widow of the late Harold Streigold, who passed in 1994. She is survived by her three sons: Steven Streigold and his wife, Wendy, of Valley Stream, Seymour Streigold and his wife, Llyle, of Long Beach, N.Y., and Howard Streigold and his wife, Mindy, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; her daughter, Barbara Divack and her husband, Lonnie, of Woodbury; and her two brothers, Harold Horowitz of Woodridge and Abraham Horowitz and his wife, Judy, of St. Louis, Mo.; and seven grandchildren: Geri, Bonnie, Matthew, Jason, David, Scott and Brian. Trethewey, Gladys "Shine" Gladys "Shine" Trethewey, age 73, born on November 21, 1931 in Hamburg, N.J., passed away on November 9, 2005 with her children and grandchildren by her side. Gladys was a resident of Warwick, N.Y. for over two decades. She is survived by her sons, Terry E. Trethewey of New York and Foster C. Trethewey of New Jersey; her daughters, Vicki-Jo Trethewey of Atlanta, Ga. and Roxanne E. Beacon of Pennsylvania; and her grandchildren: Ryan and Tiffany Peyroux of Louisiana, and Kelly Ann Beacon and Daniel L. Beacon, also of Pennsylvania. Gladys was one of 11 children born to her parents, Theodore and Pluma Stephens. She is survived by her sisters: Barbara, Lois and Hankie; and her only brother, Tedd. All of her other sisters predeceased her. Gladys graduated from high school as Valedictorian of her class. She was a well-known and loved hostess by her family and friends. Gladys loved to cook, entertain and play her organ. The holidays were a very festive and special time for her. She made everyone feel welcomed and at ease around her. Gladys was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend, and we will all miss her dearly. Services were held at the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home in Franklin, N.J. on Thursday, November 10, 2005.
