She was 62 years old. The daughter of the late Michael Matthew and Margaret Bannon Degen, she was born February 18, 1943 in Queens, N.Y. Rosemary was an avid reader and loved to learn. She volunteered much of her time at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. She was a devoted friend to all that knew her, as well as an amazing grandma to her two grandchildren. She will be forever remembered and missed by all who loved her. Rosemary is survived by her loving daughter, Shannon Walton and her husband, Adam, of Hopewell Junction; two beloved grandchildren, Connor Michael and Kyla Joyce Walton; one brother, Michael F. Carayas, Margaret "Peg" Formerly of Middletown, N.Y. Margaret "Peg" Carayas of Hurricane, Utah and formerly of Middletown, died November 25, 2005 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. She was 62. The daughter of the late Charles and Alma La Barge Wolfe, she was born on June 22, 1943, in Middletown, N.Y. She was a physical education teacher and gymnastics coach in the Long Island area and Middletown, N.Y., before moving to Utah, where she continued her teaching career at Browning Academy. Peg touched the lives of many children who adored her. Roche Eileen B. Roche Clarke of Tuxedo and Yonkers, N.Y., died Friday, November 25, 2005 at the age of 30. She was born on February 21, 1975 to John and Maura (Fenton) Roche in Yonkers, where she was raised. She attended Sacred Heart Grade and High Schools; received her B.S. in Pre-Law from SUNY Binghamton, and her Law Degree from the University of Connecticut. Eileen was an attorney for the Molod-Spitz-DeSantis Law Firm in New York City. On August 20, 2004, she married William Clarke in Sacred Heart Church. He survives her in Yonkers. In addition to her husband and parents, John and Maura, she is survived by her brother, Sean Roche of Montrose; three sisters: Maura Ellen Roche of Yonkers, Siobhan Roche of Manhattan, and Deidre Sherry of Yonkers; her nephew, John and niece, Maille. DeMarco, Jennifer Lynn Swart Formerly of Highland, N.Y. Jennifer Lynn Swart DeMarco of Wallkill, formerly of Highland, went home into the arms of our Lord on Friday, November 25, 2005. She was 29 years old. She died at St. Francis Hospital in the presence of her loving husband, Carl John DeMarco, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Jenn was born on February 3, 1976 in Kingston, N.Y. to Dawn Marie Fitzpatrick Swart and Durwood (Buzzy) Swart. She was the eldest of three children and the loving mother of her precious son, Carl John Jr., age 2. Jennifer attended St. Augustine's Grammar School; Highland High, and then to Mount St. Mary's, where she received a B.S. degree in Education and a Master's degree from New Paltz. She was currently working as an 8th grade Social Studies teacher at Goshen Middle School over the past six years. Jennifer married the love of her life, Carl John DeMarco on August 12, 2001, a police officer stationed in Peekskill. She loved most being with her husband and son. In the short time Jennifer was with us, she touched innumerable lives. She had a charismatic presence that all knew as "Jenn". She took great pride and pleasure in her role as a teacher and mentor. Jenn's pleasures and passions included spending time with family and friends. She had the gift of hospitality and shared the warmth of her home with all. Jennifer is survived by her loving husband, Carl John DeMarco and her son, Carl John Jr. She is also survived by her best friend and mother, Dawn Marie Swart; her devoted father, Durwood (Buzzy) Swart, both of Highland; her brother, James D. Swart and his wife, Jocelyn, and their son, Benjamin, of Highland; her youngest brother, Daniel, of Spring Hill, Fla.; maternal grandparents, James and Isabel Fitzpatrick of Kingston; her special cousin, Tiffany Brown, currently of Highland, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Ellsworth Jr., Joseph Henry Joseph Henry Ellsworth Jr., CPP, a resident of Accord for over 40 years, died Thursday, November 24, 2005 at his home. He was 73. Joseph was born December 31, 1932 in the Bronx, N.Y., the son of the late Joseph and Donalda (McKeever) Ellsworth Sr. Mr. Ellsworth was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Korean Conflict. Joseph was a State Trooper at the Troop F Barracks in Ellenville for 30 years and had obtained the rank of Sergeant and Station Commander before retiring in 1984. He had graduated from Empire State College with a Bachelors Degree in Security Management and Ulster County Community College with a degree in Criminal Justice. He currently worked for the Security Division of the Ulster County Sheriff's Department. Joseph was a member of the Kerhonkson V.F.W. Post 8959; the Retired Troopers Association, and the Ancient Order of the Hibernians. On November 28, 1996 Joseph married Sharon Murray-Cohen. In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by his six children: Joseph Ellsworth of Oklahoma, Daniel Ellsworth of Accord, Frank Banks and his wife, Danielle, of Stone Ridge, Vanessa Ellsworth of Fort Myers, Fla., David Ellsworth of Chicago, Ill., and Justin Hanlon and his wife, Lejlia, of Seattle, Wash.; his brother, Robert Ellsworth and his wife, Barbara, of Suffern; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Published in the Times Herald-Record on 11/27/2005. Gallagher, Gail Suzanne Gail Suzanne Gallagher, a Registered Nurse and a lifelong resident of the Town of Newburgh, died November 26, 2005 at home. The daughter of the late Harry and Betty Dabrusin, she was born December 31, 1938 in Newburgh, N.Y. Gail passed away after a short illness surrounded by her family. She was 66 years young. Gail graduated from NFA in 1956. She continued her education and became a Registered Nurse. She is a 1961 graduate (alumni) of the St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing. Prior to her beginning her nursing career, she worked as a secretary at Steinfields in Newburgh and the PX at Stewart Field. She was also an active member of the Town of Newburgh Volunteer Ambulance Corps for many years, holding many positions. Gail worked at both Cornwall Hospital and St. Luke's Hospital. She took a few years off to be with her family and returned to her nursing career at Sylcox Nursing Home in 1976. She retired from Sylcox as Director of Nursing in early 2002. She was retired briefly and returned to the Sylcox Family as Director of Education at Mid Hudson Managed Home Care in June 2002. Shortly before her passing she achieved one of her goals - the agency received the NYS Approved for Personal Care Aide Training. Her home health aide training course had also been approved by the NYS Health Department. Gail enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, Florida and Maine. She also loved camping and "tolerated" snowmobiling in Upstate New York with her children. She was admired, loved and respected by all who knew her and will be forever missed. Her motto in life was, "I pass through this world but once. If there is any good I can do, and kindness I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it for I shall not pass this way again." She is survived by her children: two sons, Timothy Gallagher and wife, Pam, of Walden, and Daniel Gallagher and wife, Christina, of Wallkill; one daughter, Bernadette Scheible and husband, Chris, of New Windsor; brother, Jack Dabrusin and wife, Margaret, of Newburgh; two sisters, Donna Carbone of Slate Hill, and Wendy Lewis and husband, Michael, of Cape Coral, Fla.; and grandchildren: Courtney Scheible and Tanner Scheible, both of New Windsor, Keegan Gallagher, Kyrstin Gallagher and Megan Gallagher, all of Walden; and the children's father, Don Gallagher of Wallkill. He was married to Lilo Auer Greiner, who survives at home. A family statement reads: "David was a true farmer and loved nature. He was a good family man and was always willing to help his neighbors." David was a member of the Elks Club, Rifton Sportsman Club, Balmville Grange, the Farm Bureau, and the New York State Horticultural Society. The son of the late Frank and Emma Cox Kimble, he was born April 6 1911 in Franklin, N.J. Harry was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Middletown, where he served as Deacon and as Church Treasurer. Harry wed his bride, Grace Adams on May 11, 1935 at the Adventist Church in Middletown, celebrating 69 years of marriage before her death on September 22, 2004. Harry is survived by his son, David Kimble and his wife, Tomasina, of New Milford, Pa.; his daughter, Diane Thorne and her husband, Bruce, of Middletown; brothers, Warren Sparks of White River Junction, Vt. and Sanford Sparks of Canisteo, N.Y.; 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, as well as two daughters-in-law, Connie Kimble and Roxanne Kimble, and former daughter-in-law, Gail Kimble-Carroll. Mr. Mackenzie was a Fleet Mechanic for Arthur F. Mulligan/GJM Transportation in Tillson, N.Y. for 18 years. He was an avid four-wheeler racer. He was most proud of his 2nd and 5th place finishes at the ENYSC Dirt Track, District 3. A family quote reads: "He always came to help or just fix things for us. He turned our frowns into smiles. He brought warmth into our hearts. We will always remember the cool breeze." She was 95. The daughter of the late Elmer and Margaret La Due Greene, she was born October 19, 1910 in Goshen, N.Y. She was the widow of Richard Relyea. Marjorie was active in both the Ridgefield Park Methodist Church and, when she was able, the Goshen United Methodist Church. Survivors include her children: Richard Relyea and his wife, Diane Wilson, of Germany, Peter Relyea and his wife, Sue, of Iowa, and Susan La Due of Massachusetts; her grandchildren: Alex, Jackie, Julie, and Scott; step-grandchildren: Choate, Deidre, Melissa and Mollie; and her niece and nephews: Kenneth Greene Jr., Dale Bromley and Linda Bromley; as well as two great-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren. Adelaide Mance Voegelin, 96, passed away on November 23, 2005. She was born January 23, 1909 in Ulsterville, N.Y. to James Edgar Mance and Isabella (Miller) Mance. She moved to Orlando, Fla. in 1946. Mrs. Voegelin was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Henry F. Voegelin, Jr. on March 8, 1978, and great-granddaughter, Delaine Lasseter on August 16, 2001. The Voegelin family owned the largest theatrical costume company in the world, located in New York City, as mentioned in Harry Golden's Book, "Only In America". She is survived by daughters, Phyllis Chidester and husband, Ross, of Orange Park, Fla., Freda "Vickey" Keith of Geneva, Fla., and Rhoda Moree and husband, Allen Jr., of Orlando, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
