She was 59. The daughter of the late Joseph and Betty Smith Gennosa, she was born January 12, 1946 in Oneonta, N.Y. JoAnn had been a long-time bus driver for the Roscoe Central School. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Ackerley, Sr., at home, three daughters, Betty Jo Mootz and her husband Scott of Roscoe, N.Y., Stephanie Ackerley at home, and Kimberley Burke of Little Chute, Wis., one son, Jerry Ackerley, Jr. and his wife Christina of East Branch, N.Y., her father-in-law, Carl Ackerley of Roscoe, N.Y., son-in-law, Dan Burke of Albany, N.Y., her grandchildren, Randall, Katelyn and Kevin D'Addezio, Jerry Joseph and Jena Rose Ackerley, Christian Mootz and Anna Campbell and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, September 2, 2005 from 5-8 p.m. in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave., Roscoe, N.Y. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 3, 2005 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Childs, Thomas Bernard Thomas Bernard Childs, 65, of Port Ewen, passed this life August 29, 2005 in Kingston. Born in Kingston, February 13, 1940 to Ella F. Childs-Lindsay and the late Judge Owens. Husband of Sherry Brodhead-Childs who survives at home. A 1957 graduate of Kingston High School, Kingston, he also attended Ulster County Community College. He was a Veteran of the US Army where he was a military police. He was employed by the city of Kingston on the police force. He also worked with the youth of Kingston in the recreation department. A member of St. Clara's Point of Praise Church of Christ of God in Christ, Kingston, he served as Home Group Leader and on the Praise Team and the Choir. Survivors besides his wife Sherry Brodhead-Childs and mother Ella F. Childs-Lindsay, are one daughter SaDairea Childs of Kingston; brothers Elder James Childs and Dorothy of Kingston, Ronald Lindsay and Nadine of Raleigh, N.C., Tony Lindsay and Julie of San Francisco, Calif. and Greg Lindsay and Lori of Schenectady; sister Carol Henderson and Burt of Kingston; mother-in-law Arlene Brodhead of Kingston; sisters-in-law, Jeannine Green of Kingston and Lori Riddick of Kingston. Hand died Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at University Medical Center in Princeton, N.J. She was 99 years old. Born in New York City, the eldest daughter of Chana and David Rosen, she attended Hunter College High School, graduated from City College, and studied at the New School and NYU. She was a personnel director for both National Starch and Marlon Candy in New York City. She lived in Monticello, N.Y. for 55 years, before moving in July with her husband Nathan to Acorn Glen, in Princeton, N.J. She worked for many years as a substitute teacher in public and private schools in Sullivan County and taught Yiddish at the Jewish Center in Monticello. She was active in Hadassah, the Sisterhood of the Landfield Avenue Synagogue, the Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop and other civic and charitable organizations. Blessed with a magnetic personality and indomitable spirit, she lived a long and full life as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, an inspired teacher, and a devoted friend to many. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Nathan Hand; her daughter Susanne Hand; her grandsons Rafe and Alex Kinsey; and her son-in-law, David Kinsey, all of Princeton; her sister Gloria Himmelfarb; and several nieces and nephews. Kunst of Ellenville, died Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at Glens Falls Hospital. She was 79. Born on January 10, 1926 in Ellenville, she was the daughter of Harry and Kate (Krilow) Brodsky. In 1958, she married Kenneth Kunst who passed away on March 13, 2000. For almost 30 years, she operated Brodsky's Women's Clothing Store in Ellenville, and for the past 5 years worked at Ellenville Regional Hospital. She was active in many community health related activities, she enjoyed traveling, reading, rooting for the Mets, and teaching English as a second language to local adults, but she most enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a tireless worker and a good friend to all that knew her. Survivors include her son, Brian Kunst and his wife, Leslee, of Glens Falls and her daughter, Elisa Levey, of Voorheesville, N.J.; her niece, Susan Owens and her husband, Jack, of New Salem, N.Y.; her nephew, Duke Brodsky of Southport, Conn.; her nephew, Howard and his wife, Lori, of Bedford, N.Y.; and her six grandchildren. He was born in Newburgh on October 21, 1948, a son of Evelyn Holden Michaels and the late Edward D. Michaels. A professional painter, working for Soper Cabinets and Mohonk Mountain House. Mr. Michaels was a member of Painters Local 155 of District Council #9. Beloved son of Evelyn Holden Michaels and the late Edward D. Michaels; loving father of William J. Michaels Jr. and Jennifer Michaels; best friend and former husband of Celia Michaels, brother of Larry and Jerry P. Michaels, Michael Tappen, Doriann Michaels, Michelle Prendergast and the late Edward "Ned" Michaels; grandfather of Rhasson London and Sophia Georges. Mitchell, Gene Gene Mitchell, of Cary, N.C. died Friday, August 26, 2005 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, N.C. He was 68. The son of the late Joseph and Nicoletta DiMichele, he was born as Eugene DiMichele on September 23, 1936 in Brooklyn, N.Y. Survivors include his son, Derek McConnachie and his wife, Kimber of Apex, N.C. and his daughter Nicole Trevino and her husband, Robert, of Katy, Texas as well as nine grandchildren, Dylan, Chase, Corey, Cody, Cassidy, Nicolina, Robert, Emma and Jeremiah. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Clemente and her husband, Louis of Middletown, his sister-in-law Betty DiMichele of Seaford, N.Y. and nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, Brian, his grandson, Cullen and his brother, Enrico DiMichele. Pironti, Eveline Eveline Pironti, 96, of Hardscrabble Road, died Sunday, August 28, 2005 at her residence. Mrs. Pironti was born on April 25, 1909 in St. Pie de Bagot, Quebec, Canada, a daughter of the late Louis and Lydia Depot Lachapelle. Mrs. Pironti loved reading, walking, playing scrabble and most recently, bird watching. Mrs. Pironti attended St. Catherine's Church in Middleburgh, N.Y. She was predeceased by her husband, Rosario Pironti and daughters Germaine Gorstein and Donna Del Gais. Surviving Mrs. Pironti are: Daughters: Linda Keller Middleburgh, N.Y., Barbara McGuire Brewster, N.Y.; sons: Roe Pironti Monroe, N.Y., Daniel Pironti Brewster, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
