Daughter of the late Anthony Bertani and Helen Fazio Bertani, she was born March 28, 1928 in Brooklyn, N.Y. She was a member of St. Columba Church in Chester, and a member of the Chester Golden Agers Club. She is survived by her husband, Michael Ambrosino of Chester; a son, Michael Ambrosino and his wife, Suzanne, of Newark, Del.; a daughter, Mary Anne Corsello of Highland Mills; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Frank Corsello. Dorothy Newman Connelly, RN, 54, of Milford, Del., formerly of Staten Island, N.Y. and Warwick, died Saturday, September 3, 2005 at home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Connelly was born October 2, 1950 in Staten Island, N.Y., the daughter of Margaret (Goblet) Newman and the late Robert Newman. Dorothy was a Registered Nurse and worked at St. Vincent's S.I. Hospital in Staten Island for seven years. She moved with her family to Milford, Del. in 1995 and worked at Bayhealth Medical Center, Kent General Hospital in Dover for seven years. She was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Milford, Del., and also the Southern Delaware Street Rod Association with her husband, Ed. She loved to spend time with her children and her grandson and kept Christmas in her heart throughout the year. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Edward A. Connelly; two daughters and son-in-law: Susan Connelly-Power and her husband, Edward, of Dayton, N.J., and Peggyann Connelly, of Milford, Del.; a son, David E. Connelly of Otisville; a grandson, Adrian D. Davis, Clarence A. Clarence A. Davis, a retired supervisor for Chester Cable in Chester, N.Y., died Saturday, September 3, 2005 at Elant at Goshen in Goshen, N.Y. He was 85. Son of Clifford Davis and Maude LaForge Davis, he was born November 19, 1919 in Goshen, N.Y. A U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II, Clarence was an avid bowler and was also a member of the Middletown Elks Club. A family statement reads: "Dad (Poppy, Grandpa) loved his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all his heart. He cherished every moment with all of them. He was an avid Yankees fan and was an outdoor adventurer. He loved feeding the deer, turkeys and birds in his back yard. Dad will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched." He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Pauline Waibel Davis, at home; two sons, Kenneth Davis and his wife, Pam, of Walker Valley, and Donald Davis and his wife, Denise of Westtown; four daughters: Patricia Kent and her husband, George, of New Windsor, Gloria Benish of Goshen, Linda Adelman of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Karen Davis of Minneapolis, Minn.; one brother, Floyd Davis of St. Petersburgh, Fla.; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Foster, Iva Frances Iva Frances Foster, a lifelong resident of Sullivan County, passed away on Sunday September 4, 2005 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, N.Y. She was 90. The daughter of William and Harriet Classen Eldridge, she was born August 17, 1915 in Forestine (Black Lake), N.Y. Survivors include five sons: Douglas Foster and his wife, Dorothy, of Narrowsburg, John "Jack" Foster and his wife, Margie, of Kauneonga Lake, Charles Foster and his wife, Lee, of White Lake, Kenneth Foster and his companion, Norma, of Ashville, N.C., and Donald Foster and his wife, Fran, of Bethel; two daughters, Evelyn LaPolt and her husband, "Sonny", of Smallwood and Linda Blais and her husband, Bob, of Bethel; 50 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Hawkins, a longtime resident of Greenwood Lake, entered into rest on September 4, 2005 at her home. The daughter of the late George and Catherine Victre of Greenwood Lake, she was born December 4, 1924 in Greenwich Village, N.Y. Doris retired as Village Clerk in Greenwood Lake in 1999 after working for the village for over 30 years. A family statement reads: "Mom was a very loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, sister and friend. The unconditional and supportive love Mom showed us all will be greatly missed. She was finally called to her rest after a long illness and will live on through all of us." She was the widow of Calvin Hawkins. Lauenstein, Emmie Louise Emmie Louise Lauenstein of Wurtsboro, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2005 at the University Hospital in Syracuse, N.Y. She was 87. The daughter of the late Emma and George Lyons, Emmie was born June 19, 1918 in Brooklyn, N.Y. She lived in Wurtsboro for many years and resided in the Syracuse area the last four years. She was a homemaker and mother who loved her family and was a member of the Community Church of Wurtsboro. She was the widow of John W. Lauenstein, who predeceased her on April 9, 2002. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Amorsen of San Diego, Calif.; her son, John P. Lauenstein and his wife, Susan Gilmore, of Minneapolis; and her daughter, Karla Lauenstein and her husband, Warren F. Miller, of Lafayette. McCormack, Mary J. Mary J. McCormack, a homemaker and longtime area resident, died Sunday, September 4, 2005 at Middletown Park Manor. She was 96 years old. The daughter of the late John and Maria Cannon McGreevy, Mary was born April 15, 1909 in Ireland. Mary moved to Middletown over 25 years ago from the Bronx; was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Middletown; was a member of the Mulberry House Senior Citizens, as well as a proud member of the Irish-American Club, and acted as an aide to the Grand Marshall in last year's St. Patrick's Day Parade in Goshen. Mary is survived by one son, John McCormack and his wife, Mary, of Cresskill, N.J.; two grandchildren, Maureen and Thomas McCormack; one sister, Kathleen in Ireland; and eighteen nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Thomas, in 1971. He was 82. Son of Bert Phillips and Ethel Straut, he was born October 21, 1922 in Suffern, N.Y. A family statement reads: "Mom always had a knack for making people laugh and she really enjoyed Bingo. Her three girls and her entire family loved her very much. "Bill" Toohey, Sr., 80, of Millville, Pa., died Sunday afternoon, September 4, 2005 at the Millville Health Care Center in Millville, Pa. He was born March 28, 1925 in Peekskill, N.Y., the son of the late James and Marguerite McCormick Toohey. He was a local and long distance truck driver for various trucking companies. Mr. Toohey was a Seaman 1st Class in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Danville, Pa., where he was known for his friendly and outgoing personality serving as a faithful usher. Mr. Toohey enjoyed writing poetry. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia Lockwood Toohey, whom he married on April 30, 1957; and one son, William F. Toohey, Jr., at home. He is also survived by five daughters: Joanne Sanchez of New York City, N.Y., Naomi Vogel of Vermont, Patricia Sampson of Gaylordsville, Conn., Susan E. Toohey of Hughesville, Pa., and Faith M. Dunkleberger of Florida; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Charity J. Toohey in 1986; one great-grandson; three brothers, and two sisters.
