Anna Lorraine Burres was born on December 19, 1918 in West Orange, N.J. to William and Anna (Straut) Brubaker. She moved to Airmont as a young child. She spent most of her adult life in Tallman, N.Y. She lived in Monroe, N.Y. from 1973-1984. She died September 5, 2005 in Suffern. She worked for 35 years at Avon in Suffern, retiring in 1979. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, a 60-year member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Tallman Fire Dept., Eastern Star Chapter Hawthorne Ramapo Temple Star, and an election inspector for the Town of Ramapo. Dorothy Newman Connelly, RN, 54, of Milford, Del., formerly of Staten Island, N.Y. and Warwick, died Saturday, September 3, 2005 at home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Connelly was born October 2, 1950 in Staten Island, N.Y., the daughter of Margaret (Goblet) Newman and the late Robert Newman. Dorothy was a Registered Nurse and worked at St. Vincent's S.I. Hospital in Staten Island for seven years. She moved with her family to Milford, Del. in 1995 and worked at Bayhealth Medical Center, Kent General Hospital in Dover for seven years. She was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Milford, Del., and also the Southern Delaware Street Rod Association with her husband, Ed. She loved to spend time with her children and her grandson and kept Christmas in her heart throughout the year. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Edward A. Connelly; two daughters and son-in-law: Susan Connelly-Power and her husband, Edward, of Dayton, N.J., and Peggyann Connelly, of Milford, Del.; a son, David E. Dailey, Sister Michael Vincent 1940-2005 Sister Michael Vincent Dailey died Monday, September 5, 2005 in Siena Hall, the Infirmary of the Dominican Sisters of Hope in Newburgh, N.Y. The daughter of the late Vincent and Marie Lodge Dailey, Sister was born July 22, 1940. She is survived by one brother, Vincent Dailey, of Sun City, Ariz. Sister, a native of Gloucester City, N.J., graduated from Saint Mary Elementary School and Gloucester Catholic High School. She was proud of the fact that her father was the mayor of Gloucester from 1965 through 1975. She entered the Novitiate of the Dominican Sisters on September 8, 1958 at Mount Saint Mary, Newburgh, N.Y. Her first Profession was in 1960 and her Final Profession on August 21, 1963. Receiving her Bachelor of Arts from Mount Saint Mary College, Newburgh and Certification from the State of New Jersey in Elementary Education, Sister served as an Elementary School Teacher in the following New Jersey schools: St. Joseph, Toms River, St. Rose, Haddon Heights, and St. Paul, Jersey City. She also served as principal in St. Anthony, Hawthorne, Our Lady Star of the Sea, Long Branch, and Our Lady of Good Counsel, Morrestown. While at Good Counsel, the school received Middle States Accreditation, an outstanding recognition not only for the school but also her dedicated faculty. At times, she served as a Middle States School Examiner. She was member of the Board of Education of the Trenton Diocese and the Diocesan Principals' Association. As principal for over 28 years, she initiated and/or established many programs involving faculty, students and parents. Her goal was to develop a strong Catholic student body that would bring the Gospel to all they would meet. Dunitz, Rose Rose Dunitz, a 74-year area resident, homemaker and former teacher at the Hebrew School of Temple Sinai in Middletown, died Monday, September 5, 2005 at Glen Arden Health Care Center in Goshen. She was 97. The daughter of Samuel A. Gordon and Bertha Gordon, she was born August 12, 1908 in Brooklyn. She was a life-member of Temple Sinai in Middletown; past president and life-member of Middletown Chapter of Hadassah; member of Sisterhood of Temple Sinai; and recipient along with her husband Jesse, of the Member of the Year at Temple Sinai. Jesse passed away December 27, 1992. Survivors include her son, N. Daniel Dunitz and wife Phyllis of Middletown; daughter, Hannah (Hadassah) Stein and husband Sherman of Davis, Calif.; four grandsons, Joshua M. Klinegardner, Mary Lynne Mary Lynne Klinegardner, of Roscoe, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, September 1, 2005 at the Roscoe Community Nursing Home. She was 49. Mary was the youngest child of Eugene M. and Marjorie B. (Reed) Merrill. She was born in Walton, N.Y. on June 28, 1956. She married Thomas Klinegardner on May 5, 1976 and they lived on Horton Brook until she entered Countryside Care in Delhi in June of 2000. Mary suffered from ALS for many years but never allowed the disease to define her. Throughout her illness, with an indomitable faith in God, she remained a vital, sharing person who befriended and mothered many. She was a remarkable living testament that, no matter the condition of the body, one's spirit can never be confined. Mary loved life and gave it her fullest; she will be missed by many. Mary is survived by her husband at home; her parents of Horton Brook; a daughter Leslie Claire and her husband David Irwin of Livingston Manor, N.Y.; a son Michael Thomas Klinegardner, who serves in the US Navy and is stationed in Japan; three sisters, Dyanne Gomez and her husband Alfred of Indianapolis, Ind., Lucille Freyer of Roscoe, N.Y. and Lorna Taber and her husband Paul of Downsville, N.Y.; her beloved grandchildren, Dylon Mitchell and Daniel McPherson Irwin and five step-grandchildren, Shana, David, Rachelle, Derek and Denene Irwin of Livingston Manor; one nephew Nicholas Freyer of Carbondale, Ill.; and one niece Christina Gomez of Torrance, Calif. Born in Elizabeth, N.J., she resided in Westfield, N.J., before moving to Matamoras, Pa., 16 years ago. She was a Library Director for the Pike County Library in Milford, Pa. for the past 10 years. She was a graduate of Westfield High School in 1976. She earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She was a candidate for her Master's Degree in Library Science from Syracuse University. She was voted one of twenty-five most influential women in Pike County, PA by Milford Magazine. She was the daughter of the late Joseph McNamara, the author of the Justice Story in the NY Daily News. She is also preceded in death by a brother, Joseph McNamara. O'Dea, Isabel Formerly of Bloomingburg, N.Y. Isabel O'Dea passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at her home in Jensen Beach, Fla. She was 99 years old. Born Isabel Duff in Scotland in 1906, she immigrated to the US in 1929. A 60-year resident of Bloomingburg, N.Y., she was married to John Lawrence O'Dea in 1935. She worked as a practical nurse at Middletown State Hospital for 15 years. After the passing of her husband in 1966, Isabel retired to Florida in 1978. She is survived by her son, John Lawrence O'Dea Jr. and daughter Claire Ronan, both of Jensen Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren, Erin Ronan of California, William and James Ronan of Florida, Teresa Lopresti, Rachel Bishop and Kerry DeLuca of New York; seven great-grandchildren, Nicole Madden, Lisa Lopresti, Kyle and Melanie Bishop and Deanna, Joseph and Samantha DeLuca all of New York. Shirley H. Scieri, a lifelong area resident, died Monday, September 5, 2005 at Middletown Park Manor. She was 80 years old. One of seven daughters of the late James and Linda Harding Watson, Shirley was born on December 25, 1924 in Homesdale, Pa. Shirley was a parishioner and active member of The First Presbyterian Church in Middletown and was the former owner/operator of Scieri Tire Service in Middletown with her husband Ben, who predeceased her in 1992. Shirley is survived by two sisters, Beverly Martinelli and her husband Joseph of Sherburne, N.Y. and Marjorie Bennet and her husband, Rev. Richard Bennet of Buena, N.J. as well as many nieces and nephews. Shirley was also predeceased by four sisters. Daughter of the late Fedele and Carmella Maffei Della Penna, she was born October 22, 1922 in Phoebus, W.Va. She was married to the late Thomas F. Scott, who predeceased her in 1999. She married Thomas on August 19, 1950 in Our Lady Help of Christians Roman Catholic Church in Brooklyn. A family statement reads: "Mom always had a knack for making people laugh and she really enjoyed Bingo. Her three girls and her entire family loved her very much. She truly loved all her family and friends and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her." Survivors include her daughters: Mary Elizabeth Peel and her husband, Robert, Ellen V. Scott-Odell and her husband, Russell, and Janice T.
