He was 79. The son of the late Giovanni Bastone and Erminia Merenda Bastone, he was born July 8, 1926 in Calabria, Italy. The eldest daughter of the late Thomas Clark and Helen Bennett Clark, she was born October 17, 1942 and was a lifelong resident of Orange County. She graduated from N.F.A. in 1960. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth William Bender, and her loving aunt, Evelyn Clark. After a courageous endeavor with cancer, mom is now at peace. She was a wonderful person and remained throughout her illness the same loving, kind, compassionate soul she's always been. She was deeply loved by her children and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Son of the late Edward and Margaret McManus Dolan, he was born May 13, 1935 in the Bronx. He was married to Beatrice Carney Dolan, who predeceased him in 1976. Bernard proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Fraser, Elwyn Percival Elwyn Percival Fraser, age 86, passed away in his sleep while at the Orange Regional Medical Center, Goshen Campus, on September 8, 2005. The only child of Matilda and Edwin Fraser, Elwyn was born on the island of St. Vincent, West Indies. The family migrated to New York City when Elwyn was 18 months old and he later became a naturalized citizen of the United States of America. A proficient musician on saxophone, clarinet, flute and piano, he attended the Juilliard School of Music and later played with many musicians including Ella Fitzgerald, Lionel Hampton, Mercer and Duke Ellington, Cootie Williams, the Ed Sullivan Show, Apollo Theater and Savoy Ballroom House Bands. In addition to performing, he was a composer and arranger; a member of the American Federation of Musicians; and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. A World War II veteran, he served his country in the Army from 1943 to 1946. He married Madeleine Creed of Keyport, N.J. in 1949; they lived in Keyport for all 50 years of their marriage until Madeleine's untimely death in 1999, at which time Elwyn moved to New York State. Upon retiring from his music career, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service and the Data Processing Division of Fort Monmouth, located in Eatontown, N.J. He is survived by his only child, Delores Fraser McFadden, and grandson, Thomas McFadden of Monroe, N.Y. A private ceremony was held at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Carmel; a church clerk, adult counselor of the praise team, vice president of the voices, Sunday school secretary and missionary. She was also a member of the Martin Luther King Choir and Restoration Choir of the House of Refuge Church of God In Christ, both of Newburgh; and she was an adult counselor at the City of Newburgh Youth Bureau. In 1940, Betty married John Burke Hall, her beloved husband with whom she shared seven children and countless memories. He predeceased her in 1987. An avid reader, Betty was the matriarch of her cherished family and always enjoyed a good party.
