Following is a transcript of his will.         The people of the State of New York by the grace of God free and independent to all to whom these presents shall come or may concern send Greeting know ye that at Goshen in the county of Orange on the fifteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty two before John B. Booth Surrogate of our said county the last will and testament of Joseph Brundydge deceased a copy whereof is hereunto annexed was proved and is now approved and allowed of by us and it appearing unto us that the said deceased was at the time of his death an inhabitant of the town of Minisink in the said county of Orange by reason whereof the proving and registering of the said will and the granting administration of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased and also the auditing allowing and final discharging the account thereof doth belong unto the Surrogate of the said county of Orange The administration of all and singular the good chattels and credits of the said Testator and any way concerning his will is granted unto Martha Brundydge and Orsamus C. Brundydge the Executux and one of the Executors in the said will named they being first duly sworn faithfully and honestly to discharge the duties of such Executux and Executor  In Testimony whereof we have caused the seal of office of our said Surrogate to be herunto affixed witness John B. Booth Surrogate of our said county at Goshen aforesaid the twenty fifth day of April one thousand eight hundred and thirty two and of our Independence the fifth sixth.                                         Jn. Booth Surrogate         In the name of God Amen I Joseph Brundige of the town of Minisink in Orange County being sick and weak in body but of sound mind memory and understanding do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say  First I give and devise to my sons Orzimus C. William T. Samuel Abijah Mastin and Merrit all my real estate consisting of about one hundred and twenty acres of land to hold to their and to their heirs and assigns forever subject to the legacies charges and conditions herein after mentioned also I give and devise to my six sons before named all my personal property of whatever nature or kind except as in herein after excepted, also I give and bequeath to my oldest son Epenetus Two hundred Dollars to be paid to him when my youngest son shall attain to the age of twenty one years, Also I give and bequeath to my daughter Rosanah Brundige one hundred and fifty Dollars for an outset which I consider equivalent to the portions which I have already given to her sisters Azubah King and Sophia Knapp the said legacy to be paid to her when she shall be married, or if she should continue single when her youngest brother shall arrive at the age of twenty one and until one or the other of the said events shall happen my will is that she shall live at home with the family and be supported out of the proceeds of the property but if my said daughter Rosanah should die without being married and before her youngest brother shall attain to the age of twenty one years I then will and order that her legacy be distributed equally amongst all her surviving brothers and sisters also I give and bequeath to my wife Martha Brundige three cows and six sheep to be kept upon the farm also my clock and family Bible she is also to be provided with a horse and wagon as often as she shall request the same and my desire is that she shall continue upon the farm and take the charge of my younger children,  Also to the end that my family may be kept together and that my younger children may have a home and a support it is my will that all the stock and farming utensils which I may have at the time of my decease shall be continued upon the farm and farther that there shall be no partition or division of my estate either real or personal until my youngest son shall arrive at the full age of twenty one years  I further order that the surplus funds arising from my estate if there should be any after defraying the necessary expenses of the family and after discharging such debts as are outstanding at the time of my death shall be appropriated to the erection of suitable buildings and in making such other necessary improvements upon the farm as shall be deemed advisable and proper  Also I will and order that if any of my sons should die without leaving lawful issue before my youngest son shall arrive to the age of twenty one years then the share or shares of such deceased son or sons shall be distributed equally amongst his surviving brothers  I do hereby constitute and appoint my wife Martha Brundige Executux and my son Orzimus Brundige and my son in law Nathaniel Knapp Executors of this my last will and testament  In witness where of I have signed sealed published and declared by the testator as and for his last will and testament in our presence who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto Joseph Halstead of Minisink in Orange Co Phebe Halstead of the same place John E. Phillips of the same place Orange Surrogate court __ In the matter of proving the last will and testament of Joseph Brundydge deceased State of New York Orange County: John E. Phillips of the town of Goshen in said county being by the Surrogate of the County of Orange duly sworn and examined deposeth and saith that he was well acquainted with Joseph Brundydge late of the town of Minisink in said County deceased that the deponent was present as a witness and did see the said Joseph Brundyde deceased subscribe at the end thereof the instrument now produced and shown to the deponent purporting to be the last will and testament of the said Joseph Brundydge deceased bearing date the tweny second day of February in the year one thousand eight hundred and thirty That such subscription was made by the said Testator in the presence of this deponent and in the presence of Phebe Halstead and Joseph Halstead the other subscribing witnesses to said will That said Testator at the same time declared the instrument so subscribed by him to be his last will and testament whereupon this deponent and the said Phebe and Joseph signed their names at the end of the will at the request  of the said Testator and that the said testator at the time of Executing and publishing the said last will and testament was of full age of sound mind and memory and not under any restraint  That said will was drawn up by deponent under the sole direction of the said Testator  That after, the same was executed as aforesaid the same was left with the said testator  That deponent from that time saw no more of said will until after the death of said Testator when the same was left with deponent to present to the Surrogate aforesaid for Probate and that deponent did present the same Sworn and examined this 15th day   } March 1832 Before me                   }             John E. Booth Surrogate                    } Orange Surrogate Court__In the matter of proving the last will and testament of Joseph Brundydge deceased in Orange County:  Martha Brundydge of the town of Minisink in said county being by the Surrogate of the County of Orange duly sworn and examined deposeth and says that she was the wife and now the widow of the said Joseph Brundydge deceased in the preceding affidavit of John E. Phillips X X X X X X X named  That the said will of the said Joseph Brundydge deceased as described in the said preceding affidavit and now produced and shown to deponent was by the said Testator immediately after the same was executed as set forth in the said preceding affidavit handed to deponent for safe keeping that deponent locked the same up immediately thereafter in a chest and the same continued therein locked up until after the death of said Testator when deponent took the same out and the same was then delivered by deponent to her son Orsamus C. Brundydge for the purpose of delivering the same to the Surrogate of said County for Probate Sworn and Examined this 15th day of March 1832 before Me Jn. B. Booth Surrogate   (her mark) X           Martha  Orange Surrogate Court__ In the matter of proving the last will and testament of Joseph Brundydge deceased Orange County:  Orsamus C. Brundydge of the town of Minisink in said county being by the Surrogate of the County of Orange duly sworn and examined deposes and says that the said Joseph Brundydge deceased and named in the preceding affidavits was the father of the deponent  That the will of the said Joseph Brundydge deceased described in the preceding depositons and now produced and shown to deponent was handed to deponent and for the purpose as set forth in the affidavit of Martha Brundydge  That in consequence of the absence of the Surrogate of said county deponent left the same with John E. Phillips in the preceding affidavit named to present to the said Surrogate for Probate Sworn and Examined this 15th day   } of March 1832 before me                }              Orsamus C.
