NY, Surrogate Court (Goshen, NY) p. 402 I Jacob Frederic of the Town of Monroe, county of Orange and state of New York being of sound mind and memory (blessed by Almighty God for the same) but infirm in body to make and publish this my lst Will and Testament in manner and force as follows Viz 1. I give and bequeath unto my son Jacob Frederic Jun Three hundred and fifty dollars to be paid to him in Eighteen months after my decease. 2. I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Pilgrim Two hundred dollars to be paid to her in Two years after my decease. 3. I give and bequeath to my daughter Margaret ONeil Two hundred dollars to be paid to her whenever after my decease she shall purchase that amount of land and take the title for the same in her own name and in case she should not purchase any land then my Executors retain the Two hundred dollars in their own hands and pay her the interest for the same to the said Margaret O Neil yearly during her life, and after the decease of the same Margare, the said Two hundred dollars to be equally divided amongst her children. 4. I give and bequeath to my daughter Charity Wilks Two hundred and twenty five dollars to be paid to her in two years after my decease. 5. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Martha S. Chase One hundred dollars to be to her in four years after my decease. 6. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Hannah White the sum of four hundred dollars to be paid to her in three years after my decease, and also my side- board. 7. I give and bequeath unto my grandson James W. Chase One hundred and fifty dollars to be paid to him when he shall be fifteen years of age when he is choose a guardian to receive the legacy and put the same to interest for him. 8. I give and bequeath unto John W.R. Chase One hundred and fifty dollars to be paid to him when is fifteen years of age when he is to choose a guardian to receive the legacy and put the same to interest for him. The said John W.R.Chase being my grandson also. 9. I give and bequeath unto my son James W. Frederick the house and lot on which he now lives situate in the Town of Monroe aforesaid Bounded as follows Beginning at the highway running by the house of Dr. Roe and running along the line of Dr. Roe s land northwestardy to an Elm tree, thence running on a line north westardly to the lands of Lewis H. Roe to a stake and stones and thence on the line of said Lewis H. Roe s land to the highway aforesaid thence along said Highway to the place of beginning to him and his heirs forever. 10. I give and bequeath all the rest and remainder of my lands and real estate of whatever description wherever situated to my son John Frederic his heirs and assigns foreaver on condition that he should pay all the legacies and all my just debts after my personal property which is not herein disposed of is applied to the payment of the sum. 11. I give and bequeath to my wife Elisabeth Frederic, Two Cows, Two beds, Two bedsteads and bedding for the two beds she to have the choice of the same, Six chairs One table and Looking-glass, One ____ and tongs and one pair of handirons, Tea kettle and dinner Pot she to have the choice of the same, One Brass Kettle and rag carpet in the middle room. I also give and bequeath to my wife Elizabeth the use of the middle room and the two bedrooms west of the same during her life and also One dozen tea ____and ____, Teapot, sugar dish, milk Pot, and Slop bowl and cake plates she to have choice of the same. Also a large and small wheel. It is my wish that my daughter Hannah S. Chase and my two grandchildren James W. and John W.R. Chase should have a home with their mother and grandmother or with John Frederick the girl so long as she remains single, and the boys until they are fifteen years old. It is my will that my son John Frederic should find a horse and wagon for my wife Elizabeth when she wishes to go to meeting and other places. And I also give my wife six knives and forks and six large and six tea spoons and two desert spoons. 12. I hereby nominate and appoint my wife Elizabeth Frederic Executrix, and Joseph R. Andrews and Samuel Smith Executors of this my last Will and Testament and I hereby revoke all former Wills made by me and declare the same nulll and void.
