To all to whom these presents shall come or may concern send Greeting Know Ye that at Goshen in the County of Orange on the twenty sixth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and two before James Everett Esq. Surrogate of our said County the last will and testament of William Young deceased (a copy whereof is hereunto annexed) was proved and is now approved and allowed of by us and the said deceased having whilst he lived and at the time of his death goods chattels or credits within this state by means whereof the proving and registering this said will and the granting administration of all and singular the said goods chattels and credits and also the auditing allowing and final discharging the amount thereof doth belong unto as the administration of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased and any way concerning his will is granted unto Elizabeth Young the widow and Samuel Young (incorrect, William is named executor) the executors in the said will named they being first duly sworn will and faithfully to administer the same and to make and exhibit a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the said goods chattels and credits and also to render a just and true account thereof whom thereunto required. In Testimony whereof we have issued the seal of office of our said Surrogate to be hereunto affixed Witness James Everett Esquire Surrogate of the said County at Goshen the thirtieth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and two and of our Independence the twenty sixth_ _ In the name of GOD amen I William Young Sr. of the Town of Deerpark County of Orange and State of New York Shoemaker being sick and weak in body but of sound mind memory and understanding do make this my last will and testament in manner and join following Imprimis. I give and bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty GOD, Whenever he shall be pleased to call me and my body to the earth to be decently interred at the discretion of my executors herein after named as to my worldly estate I give and order in manner following first I will and order that my just debt be paid as soon as my executors shall be able to do the same and unto my loving wife Elizabeth I give and bequeath in two feather beds with their cloathing and usefull furniture for one room and of my now (honor) hold furniture unto her and to her heirs and assigns forever. And unto my said wife Elizabeth I give and bequeath all and singular my real and personal estate of every name nature and kind whatsoever to and for her sole use and benefit during her natural life she remaining my widow but and if she should marry again then all and singular my real and personal estate goods and chattels shall devolve and immediately become the property of these my following children or their lawful heirs Elizabeth Scribner or under coveture of James Scribner, William Young, Peter Young, Shaw Young, Isaac Young, Thomas P. Young, Isaac Young (listed twice), Polly Young, Samuel Young to them -- be equally divided amongst them or to their lawful heirs or assigns which division shall be made, by the whole of the property real and personal except what is given to my wife to be hers forever being sold at public venue within one month after the determination of my wifes estate therein by such a future marriage should it so happen and the charge and care of the estate goods and chattels with the division shall be made by William my son one of the executors herein named and further within one month after the decease of my wife Elizabeth she remaining my widow during her natural life. The whole of the estate then remaining of real and personal shall be sold and an equal division between my eight children before herein named as the lawful heirs in "admin" or assigns shall be then made unto them severally and respectively as before delineated and as provision for payment of my careful debts should as soon as possible be made so my will is that my executors make provisions therefore as soon after my death as possible and to that end all debts to me due I will they should be called in as possible and I do hereby constitute my loving and affectionate wife Elizabeth and my son William Young my executors to this my last will and testament and revoking all other and former wills bequests and testaments. I declare this to be my last will and testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the nineteenth day of September in the twenty sixth year of the Independence of the United States of America and the year of our Lord Christ One thousand eight hundred and one. Orange County NY be it remembered that on the twenty sixth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and two personally appeared before one James Everett Surrogate of the County of Orange Daniel Osborn and being duly sworn upon his oath saith that he did see William Young deceased sign and seal the written instrument then shown unto him of which the preceding is a true copy purporting to be the last will and testament of William Young deceased bearing date the nineteenth day of September one thousand eight hundred and one and heard him publish and declare the same as and for his last will and testament and at the time thereof he the saw William Young was of a sound disposing mind and memory to the best of the knowledge and belief of him the deponent that he together with Eliah Farnham Jr. and Thomas White subscribed their names thereto as witness in the presence of the testator and each other_ _ _.
