To all to whom these presents shall come or may concern send Greeting: Know ye that at Goshen in the County of Orange on the thirty first day of August last before James Everett Esq. Surrogate of our said County the last will and Testament of Peter Young deceased (a copy whereof is hereunto annexed) was proved and is now approved and allowed of by us and the said deceased having whilst he lived and at the time of his goods, chattels or credits, within this State by means whereof the proving and registering the said will and the granting administration of all and singular the said goods, chattels, and credits and also the auditing allowing and final discharging the account thereof doth belong unto us; the administration of all and singular the goods, chattel and credits of the said deceased and any way concerning his will is granted unto David Corwin, the Executor in the said will named he being first duly sworn will and faithfully to administer the same and to make and exhibit a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the said goods chattels (chattels twice) and credits and also to under a just and true account thereof when thereunto required. In Testimony whereof we have caused the seal of office of our said Surrogate to be hereunto affixed Witness James Everett Esquire Surrogate of the said County at Goshen the eighth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and four and of our Independence the twenty ninth In the Name of God Amen I Peter Young of the Town of Deerpark County of Orange and State of New York Farmer being sick and weak in body but of sound mind memory and understanding do make this my last will and Testament in manner and form following First I give and recommend my soul to God that gave it in all humble hope of its future happenings and my body to be buried in a decent manner at the discretion of my executors herein after named And as to my worldly estate I order in manner following First I will and order that my just debts be paid as soon as my executor shall be able so to do the same and unto my brother Isaac Young I give all that undivided eighth part of the estate given unto me by my father now deceased and to his heirs forever And for this I give and bequeath unto my brothers Shaw Young and Samuel Young each the sum of ten dollars to be paid out of my estate at a time herein after mentioned and the remaining part of my estate I give and bequeath unto my Mother Elizabeth Young William Young, Thomas L. Young and Elizabeth Scribner under coverture of James Scribner to be equally divided among and between them the said Elizabeth Young William Young Thomas L. Young and Elizabeth Scribner and to each of there heirs and esign (sic) forever which division shall be made on the first day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and six and not until then and then the said Shaw Young and Samuel Young shall receive the aforesaid sum of ten dollars each and not before And I do also hereby constitute and appoint David Corwin Executor of this my last will and Testament and revoking all other and former wills bequests and Testaments I deliver this to be my last will and testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this second day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and four 1804 Signed Sealed and delivered and declared by the Testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us, William Mulock William Penney Silas Loomis Peter Young L.S. The words my, I give, interlined between the 11 and 12 lines and the words (and to each of their heirs and assigns forever) interlined between the 22 and 23 lines done before the executing of these presents Orange County NY: Be it remembered that on the thirty first day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and four personally appeared before me James Everett Surrogate of the said County of Orange William Mulock and being duly sworn upon his oath saith that he did see Peter Young deceased sign and seal the written instrument then shown unto him of which the preceding is a true copy purporting to be the last will and Testament of the said Peter Young deceased bearing date the second day of February last and heard him publish and declare the same as and for his last will and Testament and that at the time thereof he the said Peter Young was of a sound - disposing mind and memory to the best of the knowledge and belief of him the deponent and that he together with William Penney and Silas Loomis subscribed their names as Witnesses thereto in the presence of the Testator and in the presence of each other __ __ The preceding is a true copy of the original will of Peter Young deceased of the certificate of the proof thereof and of the Letters testamentary __ __ __ therein By James Everett Surrogate
