All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.org/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.org/ny/nyfiles.htm Submitted Date: December 9, 2004 This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/nyfiles/ File size: 6.6 Kb ************************************************ Source: sampubco.com Orange County NY Will Book Vol. E page 257 Written: September 17 1813 Recorded: December 10 1814 The People of the State of New York by the Grace of God Free and Independent to All to whom these presents shall come or may concern send Greeting Know Ye that at Goshen in the County of Orange on the tenth day of December instant before James Everett Esq Surrogate of our said County the last will and Testament of Job Robbins (deceased) a copy whereof is hereunto annexed was proved and is now approved and allowed by us and the said deceased having whilst he lived and at the time of his death goods chattels or credits with this State by means whereof the proving and registering the said will and the granting administration of all and singular the said goods chattels and credits of the said deceased and also the auditing allowing and final discharging the account thereof doth belong unto us the administration of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased and anyway concerning his will is granted unto Jacob Dunning Benjamin Crane and John Robbins the Executors of the said will named they being first duly sworn well and faithfully to administer the same and to make and exhibit a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased and also to render a just and true account thereof when thereunto required In Testimony whereof WE have caused the seal of Office of our said Surrogate to be hereunto affixed Witness James Everett Esquire Surrogate of the said County at Goshen the twelfth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fourteen and of our Independence the thirty ninth In the name of GOD amen I Job Robbins of the Town of Wallkill County of Orange & State of New York Farmer being frail in body but sound in memory thanks be given unto God for the same and calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do this seventeenth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirteen make and ordain this my last will and Testament in manner following that is to say punctually and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it and for my body I recommend it to the earth to be buried in a Christian like & decent manner at the discretion of my wife and Executors nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such Worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in manner and form following That is to say in the first I give and bequeath to Mariam my wife one third of my Land estate during the time she remains my widow to be divided to her on the line of John McCarty running from Tilton E. Hills Land to the Land of William McLaughry also one feather Bed and bedding and one Cow as her own property Secondly I give to my oldest son John one equal half of the other two thirds of my Land to be divided to him in such a manner as to lay joining the Land he now owns and run in such a way as to include the Buildings it being my will that he have the Buildings on his part as a Compensation for the incumbrance of bringing up Schooling and fitting for trades trades my sons Cornelius Jonathan Gilbert Archabold & Robert Sterret and also to School my daughter Polly as much as shall be thought necessary and to put her out to a good place to be brought up it is my desire that my sons above mentioned be put out to such trades as they shall chuse when they come to be of suitable age and concerning the remaining third of my Land it is my will that it be sold at the discretion of my Executors and also that my movable property be sold (except one feather Bed and bedding which I reserve for my daughter Jane) and that the money arising from the sale of the Land and the movables be divided in manner following, to my son Charles Four hundred & Fifty dollars to my son Matthias one hundred and fifty dollars to my daughter Millicent one hundred & Fifty dollars to my daughter Sarah one hundred and Fifty dollars to my son Peter one hundred dollars to my daughter Jane one hundred dollars to my son Cornelius one hundred Dollars to my son Jonathan one hundred dollars to my daughter Christian one hundred and fifteen dollars to my daughter Polly one hundred and fifteen dollars to my son Gilbert fifty dollars to my son Archabald fifty dollars to my son Robert Sterrett fifty dollars and if there should be any money remaining after paying out the above Legacies and defraying all debts and expenses the money remaining to be equally divided among all my heirs except John who I think is otherwise amply provided for and if there should not be money enough to defray all debts & charges charges must first be paid and each one of my heirs bear their proportion of the loss the above legacies to be paid all my heirs mentioned that is of age in one year after my death and to the younger ones as they shall come of age provided nevertheless that if any of my heirs should die underage that their Legacy or Legacies be equally divided among all the remaining living heirs John excepted and as it respects the third of my Land bequeathed to my wife Mariam it is my will that the Land after her decease be sold and that my son John have the one half of the money and that the remaining half be divided among the remainder of my heirs in the same proportion as first above mentioned And Lastly I do ordain and appoint Jacob Dunning Benjamin Crane & my son John Robbins Executors of this my last will & Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal the day and year first above written Signed Sealed published pronounced and declared by the Testator as his last will and Testament in the presence of us Hiram Horton James Boak Josiah Crawford Jr. Job Robbins L.S.
