Know ye that at Goshen in the county of Orange on the twenty forth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight before Daniel H. Tuthill, Esquire, Surrogate of our said county, the last will and testament of Mary Dill late of the town of New Windsor in the county of Orange aforesaid deceased a copy whereof is hereunto annexed was proved and is now approved and allowed of by us and the said deceased having whilst she lived and at the time of her death goods, chattels, or credits within this have by means whereof the proving and registering the said will and granting administration of all and singular the said goods, chattels, and credits and also the auditing all owing and final discharging the account thereof doth belong to us. The administration of all and singular the goods, chattels, and credits of the said deceased and any way concerning her will is granted unto William Mulliner and David Dill, the executors in the said will named. They being first duly sworn will and faithfully to administer the same and to make and exhibit a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the said goods, chattels, and credits and also to render a just and true account thereof when thereunto required. In testimony whereof we have caused the seal of office of our said surrogate to be hereunto affixed witness Daniel H. Tuthill, Esquire, surrogate of our said county at Goshen aforesaid the twenty fourth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight and of our independence the fifty second. Tuthill, Surrogate In the name of God amen, I, Mary Dill (widow and relix of Caleb Dill deceased) of the town of New Windsor and county of Orange being of sound mind, understanding, and memory and reflecting on the uncertainty of this mortal life think proper to make and constitute this my last will and testament. First, I resign my soul to Jesus Christ my Savior and as to my worldly substance which by God’s bounty I am possessed of I dispose of in the following manner: I give and bequeath unto my daughters Deborah Dill, and to Jane the wife of Andrew Kevan, and Mary the wife of David M. DuBois and to each of them forty dollars and I also give and bequeath unto my daughter-in-law Catharine wife of my son Joseph Dill, deceased, thirty dollars and I also give and bequeath to my granddaughters Mary Dill daughter of my son David Dill, deceased, and Mary Mulliner daughter of my daughter Elizabeth, deceased, late wife of William Mulliner each of them also forty dollars and I further give and bequeath to my granddaughters Ann Eliza Dill, Sally Jane Dill daughters of my said son David Dill, deceased, and Jane Mulliner daughter of my said daughter Elizabeth, deceased, late wife of the said William Mulliner each of them twenty dollars. All the residue of my worldly estate or money that I may all possessed of I give and bequeath to my daughter Deborah Dill above mentioned and I further give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary the wife of the said David M. DuBois my feather bed, bolster, and pillows, a blanket, and spreads, and the residue of my bedding I give unto my daughters Deborah Dill and Jane Kevan before mentioned be distributed equally between them and further I give unto my daughters last mentioned all my wearing apparel to be divided equally between them or to be disposed of by them as they may think proper and it is my further view and desire should my estate at the time of my decease be found insufficient to pay the before mentioned legacies that each of my before mentioned children, grandchildren, and daughters-in-law will then proportion thereof agreeable to the provisions of this my last will and testament but should my estate exceed the before mentioned legacies then the residue is to go to my said daughter Deborah Dill as before expressed And lastly I hereby constitute and appoint my son-in-law William Mulliner, and my nephew David Dill of Shawangunk in the county of Ulster executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twentieth day of August one thousand eight hundred and twenty-five. Mary Dill Orange County: Be it remembered that on the twenty forth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred an twenty eight personally appeared before me Daniel H. Tuthill, surrogate of the county of Orange, Coe Dill who being duly sworn did depose and say that he was present and did see Mary Dill deceased sign, seal, and execute the within instrument then shown unto him and of which the preceding is a true copy purporting to be the last will and testament of the said deceased and did hear her publish and declare the same as and for her last will and testament that at the time of the execution thereof the said deceased was of sound disposing mind and memory to the best of his the deponent’s knowledge and belief and that he the deponent subscribed his name thereto as a witness in the presence of the testatrix. Orange County: Be it also remembered that on the twenty fourth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight personally appeared before me the said surrogate, William Mulliner, and David Dill the executors in the said will named and were duly sworn to the faithful performance and execution thereof by taking the usual oath in that case provided The preceding is a true copy of the original will of Mary Dill, deceased, the certificate of the proof thereof, the certificate of the due qualification of the executors therein named, and the letters testamentary thereon.
