Last Will and Testament of Jonathan Stevens Jr

I Jonathan Stevens of the Town of Monroe in the County of Orange and State of 
New York have this day deeded unto my Son John Stevens the farm whereon I now 
live supposed to contain about one hundred acres of land also I have deeded
unto my Daughter Ann Stevens forty acres and a half of land.  I the said
Jonathan Stevens do hereby by this instrument of Writing make to be my last
will and testament in the name of God, Amen. 

First I will and bequeath unto my Son John Stevens his heirs and assigns
forever two thirds of all my personal property of every kind and description
whatsoever.  

Second I will and bequeath unto my Daughter Ann Stevens one third of all my
personal property of every kind whatsoever. I hereby will and bequeath unto my
Son John Stevens all the debts due to me from every person whatsoever that
owes me anything.  I hereby direct my Son John to pay all my Debts of every
kind and funeral expenses. I hereby direct my Son John Stevens to pay my Son
Daniel Stevens the sum of one hundred and eighty dollars to be paid in four
years after my decease and to pay interest annually for the same after my
decease.  I hereby direct my Daughter Ann Stevens to pay my Son Daniel Stevens
One Hundred Dollars four years after my decease and to pay interest on the
same after my decease, annually.  I hereby nominate and appoint James Gray and
James Cromwell of the Town of Monroe to be my executors to this my last will
and testament.

Dated July 14th, 1838.  Given under my hand and seal.  Signed in the presence 
of John McGarrah, Monroe, Orange County, N. Y.  Jonathan X Stevens (His mark)

I John B. Booth Surrogate Surrogate Office of said County do Certify that on
this eleventh day of March in the year one thousand eight hundred and thirty
nine the last Will and Testament of Jonathan Stephens of the town of Monroe in
said County, deceased, has been duly proved according to the provisions of the
Statutes in such Case made and proved as the last Will and Testament of the
said deceased, as a Will of personal estate exclusively; which said Will and
Testament, and the proofs and examinations taken thereon are recorded in this
office.

In Testimony whereof, I the said Surrogate, have hereunto set my hand and 
affixed my official Seal this eleventh day of March in the year one thousand
