Coon" executor, made 6 Apr 1874 Will proved 27 Apr 1874 I Alexander Coon of the Town of Shelby County of Orleans and State of New York, aged sixty seven years do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say. First I direct that my Executor pay all of my just debts and liabilities out of my estate. Second I give and bequeath to my wife Betsey Coon absolutely all of my household furniture in and about my dwlling house in which I reside in Shelby except such articles thereof as I shall in this will otherwise bequeath to my daughter Mary: and should I die before the expiration of a certain lease of my home farm to John T. Coon dated March 1st 1860 then I give and bequeath to my said wife and to my daughter Mary E. Coon jointly all rents rights and privileges secured to me in said lease for an unexpired term of said lease after my decease to be enjoyed and received by them jointly and if either my said wife or my daughter Mary E. should die before said lease expires the survivor shall receive the whole thereof. In this last bequest of the rents issues and profits of said lease I do not give to my wife and daughter Mary the rent of $500 but all the other benefits [bequests-lined out] ^ of said lease. I also give and bequeath to my said wife for and during the term of her life the use and occupancy of my dwelling house yard and garden and under privileges [of fr__s] the same as I now enjoy ^ and by virtue of the lease to my son John T. Coon above referred to. I also give and bequeath to my said wife and to my daughter Mary E. the use and profits of my farm called the [Vreland?] farm in the Town of Shelby consisting of one hundred and four acres until the expiration of said lease to my son John T. Coon. I also give and bequeath to my wife the interest of a certain mortgage made and executed by my son John T. Coon on the home farm for her to have and enjoy during her life and to dispose of as she desires all of the above provisions and bequests to my wife to be received by her in lieu of dower. I also give and bequeath to my said wife my buggy wagon & cattle[?]. Third Whereas on the 8th day of April 1857 and subsequently to that time I have made and executed deeds of conveyance of the tittle [sic] to all the real estate I then owned to my children and grand children [severally?] conveying such parcels [proceeds-lined out]^ of my real estate to them as I desired them to have instead of bequeathing to them by will which deeds of conveyance are in the hands of Isaac K. Burroughs of Medina to be delivered to my said children and grand children at the expiration of the said Lease to my son John T. Coon + should I die before said lease expires and at my decease should I live until said lease expires, and my will and direction is that at my decease my Executor take possession of said deeds and deliver them to the grantees therein named at the time above mentioned they my said Children to receive said Deeds in full satisfaction of all claims against my estate for labor and services. Fourth I give and bequeath to my son James A. Coon two Thousand dollars of the first payments of the mortgage made and executed by my son John T. Coon on my home farm above named and also all the personal property remaining on the farm in Michigan on which my son Andrew resided. Fifth I give and bequeath to my son John T. Coon all of the farming utensils on the farm leased to him and also I give and bequeath to my said son John T. all of the articles named in the Schedule attached to said Lease before referred to except one horse + one hundred and eighteen sheep. Sixth I give and bequeath to my grand son John Alexander Coon my gold headed cane and to my son John T. Coon the use of said cane while he lives but said cane is to be left in the possession of my wife while she lives. Seventh I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary E. Coon all of the Stock (if any) farming tools (if any) crops on the ground on the farm deeded to her I also give and bequeath to my said daughter Mary E. the bed and pillows I bought of Abbot Bent estate and also the parlor furniture and carpet after my wifes decease I also give to my said daughter Mary E. one cow such as she may select from my cows on my home farm and all swine on my home farm and also all swarms of bees I may own at my decease. Eight I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah C. Bush thirty sheep. Ninth I give and bequeath to my granddaughter Mary Coon daughter of James A. Coon and to my granddaughter Julia A. Coon daughter of Thomas J. Coon one hundred dollars each to be paid to them as they repectively arrive at the age of Eighteen years Tenth I also hereby direct that my Executor purchase and erect or cause to be erected in the grave yard at Shelby Center a Monument at a cost of not exceeding two hundred and fifty dollars to be paid for out of my estate said monument to be erected wthin two years after my decease. All the rest and residue of my estate real and personal I give and bequeath to my children and heirs at law for them to share alike and hereby revoke all other and former wills by me made And I hereby make constitute and appoint John T. Coon and Mary E. Coon Executors of this my last Will and Testament. Having omitted to make certain disposition of a part of Lot number Twenty two in the Town of Shelby deeded to John Alexander Coon my grand son I hereby give and bequeath to my son John T. Coon the proceeds use and occupation of said farm deeded to my said grand son until my said grand son John Alexander Coon arrives at the age of twenty one years when he my said grand son shall come into possession of said farm so deeded to him I also give and bequeath to my nephew John J. Wetherwax one hundred and fifty dollars provided he remains in my family until he arrives at the age of twenty one years said legacy to be paid to him when he arrives at that age.
