Fulton Obituary                      
Allen A. Simons
Fulton, July 29 -- Ambrose Simons, formerly of Volney and Mt. Pleasant,      
died Wednesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.R. Haughwout, at          
Rochester, in his 82nd year.
Born in Penellville, he went to Michigan in 1877, where he engaged in        
farming and lumbering, returning with his family in 1901 to Oswego county,    
where he lived until 1934, when his failing health compelled him to make     
his home with his daughter.
He was married in 1876 to Sarah Elizabeth Calkins, who died in 1936, Six    
children were born to them. Lawrence, Ernest, and Carlton Simons, Florence    
Mae Houghwout, Ethel B. Smith and Lillian P. Snyder, all of whom, with 21    
grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, reside in Oswego and Monroe        
county's.
Funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday at the home of Mrs. Haynes          
Snyder, Volney, Burial is in Mt. Adnah cemetery.

Additional Comments:
Allen Ambrose Simons, son of Geo. H. & Alvira L. Maginn Simons. His wife, 
Sarah E. Calkins Simons, died in 1936. Dau. of Joseph & Angeline Calkins. 
Mr. Simons was a Mason, farmer & lumber jack.
