Ingalls Will of Alfred Raymond, Palermo, Oswego co., New York Oswego County, New York, Will Book H, Page 547 Last Will and Testament of Alfred Raymond, Deceased Be it Remembered, That heretofore, to wit: on the 5th day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four Israel Raymond, executor named in the Last Will and Testament of Alfred Raymond late of the Town of Palermo in the County of Oswego, deceased, appeared in open Court, before the Surrogate of the County of Oswego and made application to have the said Last Will and testament, which relates to both Real and Personal Estate, approved: and on such application the said Surrogate did ascertain, by satisfactory evidence, who were the heirs at law and next of kin of the said testator, and their respective residences, and said Surrogate did thereupon issue a Citation, in due form of law, directed t o the heirs at law and next of kin by their respective names, stating their respective places of residence, requiring them to appear before said Surrogate at his office in the Village of Mexico in said County, on the 8th day of March, 1864 to attend the Probate of said Will. And afterwards, to wit: on the 7th day of March A. D. 1864, satisfactory evidence by affidavit was produced and presented to said Surrogate of the due service of said Citation in the mode prescribed by law, and on that day, no one appearing to oppose the Probate of such Will such proceedings were thereupon had in said Court afterwards, that the said Surrogate took the proofs of said Will hereinafter set forth, upon the 8th and 9th day of March A.D. 1864, and he thereupon judged the said Will to be a valid Will of Real and Personal Estate, and the proofs thereof to be sufficient, which said Last Will and Testament, and proofs are as follows, that is to say: Will In the name of God Amen: I Alfred Raymond of the town of Palermo in the County of Oswego and State of New York being of the age seventy eight years, and of sound mind and memory do make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in names following. That is to say: First - I give and bequeath unto my wife Electa Raymond all my personal p.2 property and also my real estate consisting of 48-1/4 acres of land the same premises on which I now live at the time of executing this Instrument for her use during her natural life and in addition to the use and benefit as above mentioned she the said Electa is to the care and oversite and to provide for my son Rufus Raymond and during his natural life and also to defray his funeral expenses after his decease and she the said Electa shall provide for and educate my daughter Emmy Matilda Raymond and allow her the priviledge (sic) of a home so long as she the said Emmy Matilda shall remain with her mother and if she the said Emmy M. shall chose to get married it shall be the privilege of the said Electa to furnish her a suitable outfit for housekeeping. Second. After the decease of my wife Electa and my son Rufus before the defraying their funeral expences (sic) I give and bequeath all the remaining availe (sic) of my personal property and real estate to be divided as follows to wit: to my sons Alfred Israel Nichodemus Horace Raymond and to my youngest daughter Emmy Matilda Raymond each an equal share after paying to my daughter Chloe Chestna (sic Chesney) half as much as one of the above named shares which said sum is to be for the use and benefit of the said Chloe Chestna during her natural life and after her decease it shall be equally divided among her heirs and I furthermore require and demand that in view of the several sums bequeathed to my sons mentioned herein they shall be obliged to furnish all the firewood necessary and fitted for the stove for my wife Electa during her natural life time. Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my sons Israel and Nichodemus Raymond to be the Executors of this my last Will and Testament to provide and care for my son Rufus and also my daughter Emmy M. as above mentioned. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 16th day of January 1860. Alfred Raymond L.S.
