Wilder, deceased. County of Oswego, ss: Newton Cook of the village of Sandy Creek and H. Louis Wallace of the village of Sandy Creek in the County oF Oswego, being duly sworn and examined, each for himself doth depose and say, that he was well acquainted with Adoniram J. Wilder, late of the village of Sandy Creek in the County of Oswego, New York, deceased, that deponent was present as a witness and did see the said Adoniram J. Wilder subscribe his name at the end of the instrument in writing now produced and shown to the deponent purporting to be the last will and testament of the said deceased, bearing date the 4th day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety eight that the said testator did at the time of subscribing his name to the said instrument as aforesaid, declare the instrument so subscribed by him to be his last will and testament; that thereupon the persons whose names are thereto subscribed as witnesses, in the presence of each other, subscribed their names at the end thereof as witnesses thereto, at the request of the testator and in his presence, and that the said testator at the time of so executing and publishing the said last will and testament, as aforesaid, was of full age, of sound mind and memory, not under restraint, and was in all respects competent to devise real estate and to make a last will and testament as deponents verily believe. It appearing upon the proofs duly taken in respect to the last will and testament of Adoniram J. Wilder late of the village of Sandy Creek in the County of Oswego, and the State of New York, deceased, that the said will was duly executed, and that the said Adoniram J. Wilder at the time he executed the same, was in all respects competent to devise real estate, and not under restraint, the last will and testament and the proofs and examinations are hereby recorded, signed and certified by me, pursuant to the provision of the Revised Statutes, this 14 day of April, A. D. 1898 S. B. Mead, Surrogate At a Surrogate's Court held in and for the County of Oswego, at the Surrogate's Office, in the village of Pulaski, on the 14 day of April, A. D. 1898, Present, Sheldon B. Mead, Surrogate In the Matter of Proving the Last Will and Testament of Adoniram J. Wilder, deceased. Application having been made on the 14 day of April 1898 by Oliver Wilder the testator of Adoniram J. Wilder, late of the village of Sandy Creek, County of Oswego, New York, to have the last will and testament of the said Adoniram J. Wilder proved; and a citation having been thereupon issued in due form of law, directed to the heirs at law, next of kin, legatees and devisees, requiring them to appear before our Surrogate of the said County of Oswego, at the Surrogate's Office in the village of Pulaski, on the 14 day of April, 1898, to attend the probate of said will, And afterward, to-wit: On the 14 day of April, 1898 Such proceedings were thereupon had that the proofs were duly taken; and the allegations of the parties appearing having been heard and the Surrogate having inquired particularly into all the facts and circumstances and being satisfied of the genuineness of said will and the validity of its execution, and it appearing upon the proofs taken, that the said will, bearing date the 4th day of February 1898 was duly executed, that the said testator when he executed the same was of full age for making a will, of sound and disposing mind and memory, and in all respects competent to make a last will and testament and devise real estate, and was not under restraint; and the probate of said will not having been contested, it is Ordered, adjudged and decreed that the instrument offered for probate in this mattter is the last will and testament of the said testator and is properly executed, and is genuine and valid; and that the said instrument be and the same hereby is admitted to probate and established as a will valid to pass real and personal property, and that the same, together with the proofs thereof, be recorded accordingly. S. B. Mead, Surrogate Will recorded on page 550 I, Adoniram J. Wilder of Sandy Creek, Oswego County, New York, being of sound mind and memory, do make, ordain, and publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament--that is to say 1st after all my lawful debts and funeral expenses are paid and discharged, I give, devise and bequeath to each of my sons Lewelbert Wilder of California and Adelbert Wilder of Brookfield (or Brookline?) Mass. the sum of two hundred dollars to be theirs absolutely. 2nd. I give, devise and bequeath to my granddaughter, Mary A. Wilder the sum of seven hundred dollars to be hers absolutely. 3d. The rest, residue and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, I give, devise and bequeath to my son Oliver Wilder to be his absolutely. Likewise, I make, constitute and appoint my son Oliver Wilder, to be executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills by me made.
