NY Will Book Vol. P page 237 In the name of God, Amen. I, William Barrott of the town of Volney, County of Oswego and State of New York, being of sound mind and memory, and considering the uncertainty of life, do heretofore make, publish, and declare this to be my last will and testament. First, after all my lawful debts are paid and discharged, I give and bequeath to William Barrett, Jr., my son, the full sum of one hundred and twenty five dollars to be paid by my Executrix within one year after my decease, the payment whereof is hereby made a charge upon my real estate, and in case of non-payment of said sum is herein provided, said William Barrett, Jr., to have and to hold by virtue of this will half of all my real estate, to wit: the one undivided tract of the farm on which I now live, the other undivided half resided by Sylvester Dickey. Second, also to said son William Barrett, Jr., the silver watch, chain and guard, now in my possession and used by me. And all my shoemaking tools, patterns and implements. Also one hand saw. Third, I give, devise, and bequeath, all the remainder and residue of my estate, both real and personal, of every kind and nature whatsoever, to my daughter, Alvira E. Dickey. And I hereby make constitute and appoint my said daughter, Alvira E. Dickey, to be the sole Executrix of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness thereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal, in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and seventy nine, May the twelfth (12th) William Barrott (L.S.) The above written instrument consisting nearly two pages and subscribed by the said William Barrott in our presence and acknowledged my him to each of us,.and he at the same time declared this above instrument subscribed and acknowledged to be his last will and testament, and we at his request, have signed our names as witnesses hereto in his presence and in the presence of each other and written opposite our names our respective places of residence.
