SKINNER, died of measles at her home in Westford, Otsego County, New York, March _0, 1887. She was the daughter of the venerable Rev. Joseph HARTWELL, of the Wyoming Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church. She was born at Fabius, Onondaga County, New York, August 20, 1843. Her married life was exceptionally happy and beautiful. To Mr. SKINNER she bore four children, three of whom now survive her--young people of prominent position in the church and society of Westford. She became a Christian early in life, holding steadily to the faith all along the years, her experience deepening and leading to greater activity and usefulness more latterly in her life. She was distinguished for natural strength of mind and character, and added to this were intellectual and heart acquirements which made her opinion valuable and her profession trustworthy. She was a tower of strength to her husband and children. Her home was the scene where her qualities were displayed to the best advantage. Personally she was a woman of rare presence; socially she was genial and interesting. Mrs. SKINNER was an efficient worker in the Sunday school. At the time of her death she had the care of a class of boys to whom she had become greatly endeared. Her death was a shock to the community--she had been so recently in the congregation and out in society. She was so usually well and active, and had been such a short time sick. It was a disease not commonly regarded as fatal. But by an ordering past finding out, she went thus untimely the way of all the Earth, leaving friends, but for the grace of God, well-nigh inconsolable. Her life was a blessing, her death, after all, a grand event, her immortality undoubtedly blissful. Her surviving relatives are followed by sincerest sympathy of a host of friends. She and her husband are buried at Maple Grove Cemetery, Worcester, Otsego County, New York. Rev. Benjamin P. RIPLEY
