Know Ye, that at Lansingburgh in the County of Rensselaer, on the Fourth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Eleven, before Alanson Douglas Esquire Surogate of our Said County, the last will and testament of Daniel Rose, late of the town of Hoosick, in the County of Rensselaer and State of New York, deceased, (a copy whereof is hereunto annexed), was proved, and is now approved and allowed by us; and the said deceased having whilst he lived, and at the time of his death Goods, Chattels or Credits within this State, (by means whereof the proving and registering the Said Will, and the granting administration of all and Singular the Said Goods, Chattels and Credits, and also the auditing, allowing and final discharging the account thereof, doth belong to us); the administration of all and Singular the Goods, Chattels and Credits of the Said deceased, and any way concerning his Will, is granted unto Joseph Rose & Benjamin Rose, Executors. In the Said Will named they being first duly sworn well & faithfully to administer the same, and to make & Exhibit a true and perfect inventory of all and Singular the Said Goods, Chattels & Credits, and also to render a just and true account thereof, When thereunto required. In Testimony Whereof We have Caused the Seal of Office of our Said Surrogate to be hereunto Affixed. Recorded December 4th 1811 In the name of God Amen I Daniel Rose of the Town of Hoosick in the County of Rensselaer of State of New York, Yeoman, Considering the uncertainty of this mortal Life, And being of Sound & perfect mind and memory, blessed be Almighty God for the Same, do make and publish this my last Will & Testament in manner and form following that is to Say First I give & Bequeath to my beloved Wife Sarah Rose, the use of one half of the great room and Corner Cupboard in the Same, the Bed room With a priviledge of the wash room bakery and Cellar in my dwelling House in Said Hoosick during the time She remains my widow and all the household Furniture Which my Said Wife Sarah has brought or may bring to my house, I also give & bequeath to her the Sum of Forty Dollars to be paid yearly, and every year after my decease during the time She Shall remain my Widow, and untill Married again, provided nevertheless that the foregoing bequest is Expressly upon Condition that She my Said Wife Immediately after my decease give a full, ample & Legal acquittance of her Dower or thirds in my Estate, the which if She Shall refuse or neglect to do, then the foregoing Bequest to be utterly null and Void. I also give and devise to my two sons Joseph Rose and Benjamin Rose their heirs and Assigns all that my messuage or tenement Sittuated lying & being in the town of Hoosick, County of Rensselaer and State of New York being Lot No. Eighteen in a patent of land Commonly Called Snyders Patent together With about Ten acres of Land in the town of Bennington County of Bennington and State of Vermont & adjoining Said Lot No. Eighteen together With all my Stock and Farming Tools to be Equally divided between them the Said Joseph and Benjamin their heirs and assigns upon Condition that the Said Joseph Rose pay to the Said Benjamin Rose the Sum of Fifty dollars. And I hereby give and bequeath to my eldest Son Daniel Rose the Sum of One dollar. I do likewise give & bequeath to my Son John Rose one hundred Dollars. I also give & bequeath to my Daughters, Susanah Rogers, Mary Potter, Hephsibah Turner, Cathrine {Shew?} and Mercy Sherwood all my household furniture to be equally divided between them, & the Sum of thirty dollars each. The Said One dollar to the Said Daniel Rose, the Said One hundred dollars to the said John Rose & the Said Thirty dollars to each of my Said Daughters, to be paid Within five years after my decease, And lastly as to all the rest residue & remainder of my Personal Estate Goods & Chattels of What kind or nature Soever I give & bequeath the Same to my Said two Sons Joseph Rose & Benjamin Rose (to be Equally divided between them) Whom I hereby appoint Executors of this my last Will & testament, hereby revoking all former Wills by me made. Snyder Aln Douglas State of New York Rensselaer County Be it Remembered, That on the Fourth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Eleven, personally appeared before me, Alanson Douglas Esquire, Surrogate of the Said County of Rensselaer, Lemuel Andrews one of the Subscribing Witnesses to the Will of Daniel Rose late of the town of Hoosick in the Said County, deceased; Who being duly Sworn declared, that he did See the Said Daniel Rose, Seal and execute the annexed Written Instrument, purporting to be the last Will and testament of the Said Daniel Rose, bearing date the twentieth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Six, and heard him publish and declare the Same as and for his last Will and Testament; and at the time there of, he the Said Daniel Rose was of Sound disposing mind and memory, to the best of the knowledge and belief of the Said Lemuel Andrews, and that the Said Lemuel Andrews together with Aaron Sherwood and Nicholas C. Snyder the other Witnesses to the Said Will, severally, Subscribed their hands and names to the Said Will, as Witnesses thereto, in the persence of the Testator and of each other. Aln Douglas
