Recorded July 18th 1817 WILL : In the name of God, I, ELISHA REYNOLDS of the town of Petersburgh, in the County of Rensselaer and state of New York Yeoman, being weak in body but of a sound and disposing mind and memory and understanding (blessed be God for the same) do this Tenth day of September in the Year of Our Lord, One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirteen, make publish and declare this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following, Principally I recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it to me and my body to the earth from whence it came in hopes of a Joyful Resurrection in and through the merits and mediation of my ever blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, And as to such Worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me with in this life I give and dispose thereof as follows ; And first it is my will and I do hereby order and direct that my Executor hereinafter named do in the first place pay off and discharge all my just debts and funeral charges out of my estate and I give and bequeath unto my beloved WIFE one dollar over and above the sum which was agreed upon for her to have by agreement before marriage between us, Item I give unto my SON JOHN REYNOLDS one dollar, Item I give and bequeath unto my SON ELISHA one dollar, Item I give and Devise unto my SON THOMAS his heirs and assigns forever all my ________ lands and tenements, lying and being in the town of ALBURGH, COUNTY OF GRAND ISLE AND STATE OF VERMONT, Item I give and Devise unto my SON STEPHEN his heirs and assigns forever all that ________ piece or parcel of land with the ________ thereunto belonging, which I purchased of RENSSELAER SCHUYLER AND ELIZABETH HIS WIFE, being Forty-Seven Acres And A Half Be the same more of less (Reference being had to the deeds) Item I give unto my DAUGHTER CELIA RANDALL Two Hundred And Fifty Dollars. Item I give unto my DAUGHTER PHILLIPA GARDNER Two Hundred And Fifty Dollars. Item I give unto my DAUGHTER WAITY REYNOLDS Two Hundred And Fifty Dollars. Item I give and bequeath unto my GRANDSON BENJAMIN REYNOLDS One Hundred Dollars, I give and bequeath unto my GRAND DAUGHTER ALICE SALSBURY One Hundred Dollars. Item I further give order and direct that my executor hereinafter named shall out of the real estate which I have devised unto him as above pay yearly unto my said DAUGHTER PHILLIPA GARDNER so long as she remains without a husband Ten Bushels of Good Indian Corn, One Hundred Weight of Good Fresh Pork, Fifty Pounds of Fresh Beef, Ten Pounds of Flax, and Pounds of Sheep' s Wool and to ____ ___ _____ of a Cow Winter and Summer, and One Room in the Dwelling House It is my will and I order and direct that after one year upon my decease the Legacies be paid to the and whatever moveable property I may die _______ of not heretofore disposed of be equally divided between my CHILDREN namely, ELISHA, THOMAS, STEPHEN, CEILA, PHILLIPA and WAITY.
