First: I order and direct that if my present residence shall remain unsold at the time of my decease the same shall be sold as soon as practicable thereafter and out of the proceeds thereof there shall be paid. Firstly, a small mortgage which is a lien and encumbrance thereon. Secondly, a legacy of one thousand dollars left by my late husband to Catharine the daughter of General Solomon Van Rensselaer, now Mrs. Bonney a missionary in China, for which debt I have given my bond and I hereby order the amount be paid and satisfied as aforesaid. Second: I order and direct that the lots situate on the Bank south of my orchard be sold as soon as practicable after my death and that the small montage which is a lien thereon, be first paid out of the proceeds from such sale. Third: I give and devise to my nephew Visscher Van Rensselaer the small lot adjoining to where Cornelius G. Van Rensselaer now resides, there is about eight rods of it in width and it extends to the channel of the river. Fourth: I give and bequeath to the American Bible Society founded in New York in the year 1816, the sum of one thousand dollars. To the Reformed Dutch Church in Albany the sum of one thousand dollars for the benefit of the Pastors of that church. To my nephew Jeremiah Van Rensselaer, Jr. the sum of one Thousand dollars. To my nephew John Jeremiah Van Rensselaer the sum of one thousand dollars. To the Rev. W. H. Campbell for the benefit of the Theological Seminary at New Brunswick, New Jersey, the sum of one hundred dollars. To the third Dutch Church in Albany for the benefit of its Sabbath School, the sum of fifty dollars. To the Presbyterian Church in Greenbush for the benefit of its Sabbath School, the sun of fifty dollars. To the Presbyterian Episcopal Church in Greenbush for the benefit of its Sabbath School, the sum of fifty dollars. To the Methodist Episcopal Church in Greenbush for the benefit of its Sabbath School, the sum of fifty dollars. To the seminary established by the late Rev. John Corry, near the Catholic Church at Greenbush, at which he ministered, the sum of fifty dollars. I give and bequeath unto my brother Glen Van Rensselaer all my books and papers. Fifth: All the rest, residue and remainder of my property both real and personal I give devise and bequeath the equal one third part to my brother Glen Van Rensselaer. The one half of another equal undivided third part of such rest, residue and remainder, I give devise and bequeath to my brother Doctor Jeremiah Van Rensselaer. The one fourth part of the said last mentioned equal undivided one third part of such rest, residue and remainder, I give devise and bequeath to my nephew Jeremiah Van Rensselaer Jr. The remaining fourth part of said last mentioned equally undivided one third part of such rest, residue and remainder, I give devise and bequeath to Foster Van Rensselaer and Glen Rensselaer, sons of my nephew Francis Van Rensselaer, share and share alike; and I hereby constitute him said Francis, their Guardian for this property hereby given them. Of the remaining equal undivided one third part of such rest, residue and remainder, I give devise and bequeath one half to my brother Cornelius G. Van Rensselaer and the other half to his four children, Mrs. Cornelia Bolton, Catharine, John Jeremiah and Visscher, share and share alike. Sixth: I hereby nominate and appoint my brother Glen Van Rensselaer the executor of this my last will and hereby revoking all former wills by me made and I hereby authorize my said executor to pay all my just debts and funeral expenses and especially my indebtedness to Marggretta Van Rensselaer. In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this __ day of September 1864. C.G. Visscher SS The foregoing instrument was at the date thereof subscribed by the Testator, Catharine Glen Visscher in the presence of us and each of us and the said Testator at the same declared to us and each of us said instrument to be her last will and testament and at the same time requested us to sign the same as witnesses, whereupon we in the presence of said testator, and each other subscribed our names. Wm Lansing Greenbush, N. Y. Irving Brown, Troy, N. Y. Surrogate Court. In the matter of proving the last will and testament of Catharine Glen Visscher, deceased. County of Rensselaer- William Lansing of the town of Greenbush and Irving Browne of the city of Troy in the Co. of Rensselaer being duly sworn in open court, doth depose and say and each for himself says that he is a subscribing witness to the last will and testament of Catharine Glen Visscher late of the town of East Greenbush, in the county of Rensselaer, deceased, and that the said Catharine Glen Visscher did in the presence of these deponents subscribe her name at the end of the instrument, which is now shown and exhibited to these deponents and which purports to be the last will and testament of the said Catharine Glen Visscher and which bears the date on the __ day of September, 1864, and the said Catharine Glen Visscher did at the time of subscribing her name aforesaid, declare the said instrument to be her last will and testament and these deponents did thereupon subscribe their names at the end of said instrument as attending witnesses thereto at the request of the said testator in her presence and in the presence of each other. And at the time when the said testator subscribed her name as aforesaid, She was of sound mind and memory, of full age to execute a will and was not under any restraints, but competent in all respects to devise Real Estate. Subscribed and sworn the 3rd day} Wm Lansing August, 1866 before me} Irving Browne Moses Warren, Surrogate} County of Rensselaer: I Moses Warren, Surrogate of said County do hereby certify the foregoing to be the true record of the last will and testament of Catharine Glen Visscher, late of East Greenbush in said county, deceased, with the proofs thereof as a will of real and personal estate.
