Mr. Bulone was born in the Sicilian seaside town of Licata. He lived there until 1948, when he relocated to Brooklyn. He moved to Staten Island in 1977, settling in Grasmere. He worked as a longshoreman in Brooklyn before finding work as a mechanic at Lind Oldsmobile in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn in 1952. Five years later, he moved to the former Balmer Cadillac, in the same community, then opened his own business, J and V Service Center, in Bay Ridge in 1962. He retired in 1999. Mr. Bulone's family said that he enjoyed cooking, especially seafood, a passion he had from his childhood in Licata. His son, Salvatore, said that Mr. Bulone crisscrossed the county by car, traveled through the southern states and made weekend trips to Maine to eat lobster. Mr. Bulone is survived by his wife of 55 years, Emily Bulone; another son, Joseph; a sister, Angelina Peritore, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral was Thursday from the Virginia Funeral Chapel, Dongan Hills, with a mass in Holy Rosary R.C. Church, South Beach. Burial was in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp. DAWN WALSH, 70 Enjoyed sewing costumes for grandchildren Sunday, August 28, 2005 Dawn M. Walsh, 70, a homemaker and native Staten Islander, died Friday in Clove Lakes Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Castleton Corners, where she had been 1995 a patient for three weeks. Born Dawn Geidel in Tottenville, she moved to West Brighton in 1953 when she was married. She was a 1952 graduate of Tottenville High School. Mrs. Walsh spent most of her life as a homemaker caring for her children and grandchildren, said her husband, Thomas P. Walsh, a retired assistant chief for the city Fire Department. In the mid-1970s, Mrs. Walsh coached CYO basketball for Sacred Heart School, West Brighton, for six years, culminating with Sacred Heart's first Archdiocesan state championship in 1975. She also coached softball for the school. In the late 1980s, Mrs. Walsh spent a few years working as a bookkeeper for the Visiting Nurse Association on Staten Island. Mrs. Walsh enjoyed crafting and sewing in her leisure time and took great joy in making Halloween costumes every year for her eight grandsons and her granddaughter. She also enjoyed bowling, gardening and reading. Mrs. Walsh was a parishioner of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, where she was an officer of the Mother's Guild. She was also a former Brownie leader at the church. In addition to her husband of 52 years, Thomas, and her grandchildren, Mrs. Walsh is survived by a son, Thomas; two daughters, Diane Casserly and Jeanne Panzarino, and a brother, Paul Geidel. Another son, Terence, died in 1992. The funeral will be Tuesday from the Harmon Home for Funerals, West Brighton, with a 10 a.m. mass in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Grasmere. JULIA FRAWLEY, 79 Homemaker interested in Irish culture Sunday, August 28, 2005 Julia Frawley, 79, a homemaker, died yesterday in Carmel Richmond Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Dongan Hills, where she lived for six years. Born Julia McKinney in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Mrs. Frawley relocated to Brooklyn in 1954 and moved to Great Kills in 1989. Mrs. Frawley was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and was interested in Irish culture. She also liked to watch the television show "Jeopardy." "She enjoyed having a good time, and she was a good time to all," said her son, Larry Frawley. Mrs. Frawley's husband of 38 years, Oliver, died in 1991. In addition to her son, Larry, she is survived by another son, James; two daughters, Mary Connolly and Julia M. Koniosis, six sisters and nine grandchildren. The funeral will be Wednesday from the Casey-McCallum-Rice South Shore Funeral Home, with a 9:45 a.m. mass in St. Clare's R.C. Church, both Great Kills. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
