Lee, Janet Slaven (Valentine) LEE Janet Slaven Lee (nee Valentine), 82, died at Rex Hospital on January 20, 2005 after complications from leg surgery due to a broken left thigh bone. Janet was born August 19, 1922 and raised on Staten Island, NY. A 20-year resident of North Carolina, having lived in Carrboro, Chapel Hill and Raleigh, she had relocated to North Carolina from Southampton, Long Island, NY. Janet was predeceased by her husband Paul Lee of New Jersey, her parents Matthew W. and Elizabeth V. Slaven, her sister Ruth E. Kruger and her grandson Matthew E. Valentine. Janet is survived by her son, Edward J. Valentine and his wife Dorothy of Raleigh and her granddaughter Lori A. Valentine of Blacksburg, VA. Janet is also survived by her nephew John S. Kruger and his wife Jeanne Whalen of Raleigh. Visitation will be at Renaissance Funeral Home at 7615 Six Forks Road in Raleigh, NC on Sunday, January 23, 2005 from 2-4 P.M.
