Mc Loughlin, Mary (Mc Kendry)
Mc LOUGHLIN Mary Mc Loughlin (nee Mc Kendry) on July 4, 2005, after a brief
illness. Pre-deceased by her husband, Chris Mc Loughlin, both life-long Irish
Republicans. She was born in Glasgow, Scotland, July 4, 1914 and lived in
Belfast, Ireland, before coming to the USA in 1957 with her family and settled
in Staten Island, N.Y. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Peter's Parish.
She became active early in her life in the cause of a United Ireland, at one
time serving as adjutant of the Belfast branch of Cumnnan na Ban, the women's
auxiliary of the Irish Republican Army. Her many stories of those years could
fill more than one book. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who
knew and loved her. She is survived by seven of her eight children, Marie,
Chris, Anne, Rosemary, Mairead, Bridgid and Dairmuid. Her first child, Ethna,
passed away at age 3 years. Also survived by nineteen grandchildren and
nineteen great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Rita
and Frances and her brothers Sean, Patrick and Gerard. Funeral from Vorhees
