Lynch, Evelyn Dorothy LYNCH Evelyn Dorothy Lynch, 86 died Thursday, March 10, 2005 at Cedars Nursing Care Center in Portland, where she had been a resident. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 25, 1918, the daughter of Walter J. Haemer and Theresa Fitch Haemer and attended public schools there. She married Arthur Lynch in April 1943 before he was deployed to Europe during WWII. Mrs. Lynch was employed by the City of New York for fifteen years as a teller for off track betting. She was a lover of house plants and had an extensive collection of African Violets. She was also talented with handicrafts and enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Evelyn was also a lover of the arts and enjoyed attending concerts and plays. She was a brave person and would face life's difficulties with cheerfulness. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Arthur T. Lynch, who died in 1969. Surviving is his daughter, June L. McClean of Scarborough, ME; her son, James A. Lynch of Tijeras, NM; and her sister, June Vista of Seminole, FL. A period of visitation will be held Monday, March 14, 2005 from 6-8 P.M. at the Conroy-Tully Crawford, South Portland, ME. A funeral will be held Thursday, March 17, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. at the Powell Funeral Home, 67 Broadway, Amityville, NY.
