McAndrews Sr., John W. "Mac" John W. "Mac" McAndrews, Sr. 78, of Port St. Lucie, FL, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at St. Lucie Medical Center, Port St. Lucie. Born in New York, NY he had been a resident of Port St. Lucie for five years coming from New Dorp, Staten Island, NY. Prior to retirement, he was a Fire Captain with the New York City Fire Department for 21 years in Brooklyn and Manhattan. During World War II and the Korean Conflict he served in the United States Navy. He was on the Board of Governors of the Staten Island Pee Wee Football League for 40 years; a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, and the Port St. Lucie Lodge 2658 BPO Elks. He attended St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Port St. Lucie. Survivors include his wife of 54 years Alice McAndrews, son John W.
