ROSE KELLY, 87 Silver Lake resident was former teacher's assistant Monday, October 31, 2005 Rose Kelly, 87, of Silver Lake, a retired teacher's assistant, died Saturday at the Eger Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Egbertville, where she had been a resident for the past six months. Born Rose Larrinaga in Manhattan, she settled in Silver Lake more than 30 years ago. For more than 40 years, Mrs. Kelly was a teacher's assistant at the Cardinal Spellman Head Start Center in Manhattan. She retired about 22 years ago, but returned to work for several years following her retirement. Mrs. Kelly loved cats and enjoyed spending time with her five great-grandchildren. She was a parishioner of St. Teresa's R.C. Church, Castleton Corners. Her husband, John, died 40 years ago. She was also predeceased by her son, John. In addition to her five great-grandchildren, surviving are her two daughters, Generosa Zeccardi and Ellen Holzka, and three grandchildren. The funeral will be tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. in the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners. Burial arrangements are private. MARY D'AURIA, 76 Grasmere homemaker enjoyed cooking Monday, October 31, 2005 Longtime Grasmere resident Mary D'Auria, 76, a homemaker, died yesterday at home. Born Mary Giusto in Manhattan, she settled in Grasmere in 1956. Mrs. D'Auria was a member of the Grandmother's Club and the Grasmere Civic Association. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking for her friends and family, gardening, reading, knitting and solving crossword puzzles. She was a parishioner of St. Sylvester's R.C. Church, Concord. Surviving Mrs. D'Auria are her husband of 56 years, Anthony; her son, Steven, and four grandchildren. The funeral will be Wednesday from Virginia Funeral Chapel, Dongan Hills, with a mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Sylvester's Church. Burial will follow in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
