A native of Mariners Harbor, Mr. Warner joined the U.S. Navy after graduating from an Island high school. He worked on blimps and served in Buenos Aires, Argentina -- as well as throughout the Pacific -- during World War II. He achieved the rank of aviation metalsmith, third class. In 1946, after his tour of duty, Mr. Warner married the former Madeline Marie Pitcock, and the couple settled in Edison four years later. Mrs. Warner died in 1998.
