All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.org/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.org/ny/nyfiles.htm Submitted Date: March 28,2005 This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/nyfiles/ File size: 3.4 Kb ************************************************ Source: Sampubco.com Rockland Co NY will Book Vol. B page 148 Written: November 19, 1824 The will of John Ten Eyck, Nov. 19, 1824 The last will and testament of John Ten Eyck of the town of Hampstead County of Rockland and State of New York, amen Considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory blessed be the Almighty god for the same do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Mary the full command of my lands goods Chattels and Personal Estate of what kind and nature soever the same may be for the use benefit and bringing up of my children and mother as my family now are together so long as my said wife Mary Continues my Widow it is my will should my wife Mary marry again then and in that case it is my will that she may take all or as much of goods and furniture as she brought with her when she was first married further it is my will as often as it may happen that my said wife should be able to (?) or sell any part of my personal Estate that she shall with the consent of one more of my Executors dispose of the same. It is further my will that my seven children should have good common schooling at the discretion of my Executors. And further should my said wife marry or not and my Executrix and Executors all agree that it would be for the benefit and advantage of my said heirs to sell my Land or any part thereof or personal Estate of what Nature the same may be then and in that case they shall have a full power so to do. It is further my will of all my Estate weather Lands or personal Estate of what kind or nature soever the same may be shall be divided between my four sons and three daughters after the death or marriage of my said wife That is to say, four sons Fletcher, John, (?) and James Tenyke shall have two Equal parts, to each girl one, that is each son as much again as each girl Excepting bedding here after excepted. Further it is my will and I do bequeath to my three daughters Elizer, Catherine and Phebe each of them then the equal half as much as each of the aforesaid sons and each of the aforesaid girls each a good Common bed and bed Cloths apiece if not (?) when wanted to be got by my Executors out of my Estate. Also I do hereby appoint my beloved wife Mary my Executrix and Joseph Conklin and John J Gurnee my Executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the Nineteenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four.
