Persons or organizations desiring to use this material, must obtain the written consent of the contributor, or the legal representative of the submitter, and contact the listed USGenWeb archivist with proof of this consent. ************************************************************************ SCDB DD 214 1836 This Indenture Made the first day of fourth Month in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty-six (1836) between Lewis Burtis and Millecent, his wife, of the Town of Stillwater County of Saratoga and State of New York of the first part and Abraham Leggett of the same town and county and state aforesaid of the second part WITNESSETH that the said parties of the _____ had for and in consideration of the sum of fifteen ($1,500) hundred dollars to them in hand paid lawful money of United States to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt of which is hereby confessed and acknowledged have granted bargained sold remised released aleined enfeoffed and confirmed and by be these presents does grant bargain sell remise release alein enfeoff and confirm unto the said party of the second part and his heirs and assigns all that certain piece or parcel of lot number 17 in the grand division of the Saratoga Patent situate in the Town of Stillwater in the County of Saratoga Beginning at the southeast corner of Abraham Leggett's lot of land and runs from thence along the same north 16 degrees 51 minutes east 47 chains 20 links to the north line of said lot No. 17 thence along the same North 81 degrees 47 minutes East ten (10)chains fifty-five links to a stake thence South 16 degrees 51 minutes east 47 chains 79 links to a stake on the South side thence north 78 degrees 30 minutes west ten chains fifty-five links to the place of beginning and Contains fifty acres of land be the same more or less reference being had to a survey of said premises made by Jonathan Morey Surveyor may more fully appear together with all and singular the hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appurtaining....
